ory on "action news" is the investigation into the fumes that forced paulsboro high school to be evacuated. ali gorman is live at the hospital where students and staff were taken to be treated but eva pilgram is live with more on how this happened. >> reporter: parents rushed to paulsboro high school or to the hospital, more than a dozen students and teachers got sick today and it's from an odor from a leak at the neighbor refinery one that they have been dealing with for days. emergency workers rushed to paulsboro high school after more than 12 students got sick. the problem started monday after complaints of a strong odor, emergency management was called in to test the air, but today the air quality results had a different reading and emergency management recommended they close down for the day a seal

on the tank broke sunday night and an odor quickly filled the air and air tests in the school showed a positive results for napta, a substance they call dangerous. they have fixed the faulty tank which should resolve the issue. >> we'll make the decision tomorrow as we would a snow closing and every family is concerned about the safety of the students and staff and we are always making decisions on what is best for the students. >> parents can't help but be worried. >> i'm not taking her back until it's cleared for good. >> the superintendant tells us that most of the students and teachers that were taken to the hospital have been released and he plans to call each of them tonight individually to make sure they are okay. eva pilgram, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. lets switch to "action news"

reporter and registered nurse live at the hospital checking on the conditions of those that got sick. ali. >> 13 students and two teachers were taken to the hop and most were treatmented and released and there are students walking in on their own and currently being evaluated and all were reporting similar symptoms. parents of at least 13 students at paulsboro high school came to woodbury hospital after learning their children felt sick after fumes from the nearly refinery company floated into the school. >> she told me her nose is burning and she has headaches. and she told me she is like dizzy and doesn't feel well at all and her eyes were burning. >> nausea and headache and pale and faint and weak. i broad her to for furnish testing to make sure she was

a rural area of psychsville maryland. and her feet and hands were bound with an electrical cord, her husband, kyle crosby has been behind bars since january. a suspect was taken into custody after a deadly shooting spree in suburban phoenix, news helicopters were overhead after the suspect was arrested after an hours long manhunt and the shooting spree began at a motel and the same suspect was later involved in a carjacking and home invasion and another shooting six people were shot and one died and one was badly hurt. the motive for the shootings are unclean but the motives do not appear to be linked. a new jersey man and air force veteran pled nilts to federal charges about trying to

join isis, tairod pugh had 130 videos related to islamic terrorists including excuse videos he was arrested earlier this year in egypt while planning to travel to syria and faces 35 years in prison. pugh will be back in court on monday. there will be more on the isis arrest and shootings in arizona, on world news with david muir. philadelphia police are searching for a murder suspect they say is armed and dangerous video shows this gunman walking into a laundry mat in southwest philadelphia and opening fire immediately, the male victim died at the scene chad pradelli is live with the latest. >> reporter: monica it was thursday february 19th around 11:00 a.m.

the victim was walking up here walked to the door and went inside the 53rd street laundry mat. but his killer was following and the killer could be a city worker, this is the killer he immediately approached eric norman and opens fire and pauses and then fires the fatal shot into norman's head, take a close look at the suspect, especially his clothing is he wearing a philadelphia water department and hat. >> we are working with the department hoping to try and identify this employee or exemployee. >> norman was likely followed into the laundry mat-at 11:00 a.m. on february 19th he lives around the corner, motive is

online, and this follows racist chants from students from oklahoma. and now a look at how the negative spot line on fraternities nationwide is taking its toll here. our first stop is the university of pennsylvania we found nothing but disgust for the scandal in happy valley. >> i think it's pretty dispick ability and i am happy that the school is proactive in taking action. >> it's the idiotic acts of individual chapters. >> they have been thrown off campus for at least a year after members kraetd created a private invitation page for posting nude pictures of women. and this follows the video of racist chants at the university of oklahoma.

people currently in treatment centers but residents are asked to stay in their home for three days and they are reminded how to protect themselves and stop ebola. a shut down last month helped to reduce the number of new cases. a rally today to mark their progress in raising $200,000 for the delaware center for holeless veterans, through a month long series of fundraising events they are near their goal and they can provide 25 additional beds. kids at a gloucester county school wore their favorite pajama today the kids were dressed down to help others they collected over 150 pairs of pj's and 50 books for children in foster care and the hospital. it will be given to the local chapter of the pajama program.

kraft is issued a recall for a danger in their popular mac and cheese 240,000 are recalled because they can contain small metal pieces it includes the 7.25 ounce boxes and use by date of september 18th anybody that bought one of those boxes can return it for a refund and facebook is offering a new service to users they will be able to send friends their money using the messenger app and works with debit cards and works with mobile and android devices but the service can not be used by businesses.

>> mentioned snow and you don't want to toss it to me i get nervous, it throws you for a loop i'd rather go to commercial. >> you would rather be prepared. looking at the center city skyline, a beautiful day with loads of sunshine and then you step outside and the winds take you by surprise peak wind gusts from 35 to 38 miles per hour and those winds are pulling down brutal windchills, the windchill in philadelphia 37 degrees, feels like 34 in allentown and 35 in millville and 34 in trenton, tonight the winds will be diminishing and the temperatures are dropping. satellite 6 along with action radar shows that we have clear skies now and high pressure is out to the west is building over us as we head to the overnight hours. it will also really diminish the winds, a windchill factor over the winds and 28 degrees in philadelphia 24 in millville,

and 22 in allentown and 27 degrees in wilmington for the overnight low, and all eyes are on low pressure over texas satellite 6 along with action radar is showing that this is tapping into the gulf of mexico and this will transfer its anne guy tie coastal low off the carolinas and it will strengthen and deepen and bring us the snow on friday. tomorrow we don't have to worry about anything 2:00 in the afternoon plenty of sunshine and clouds are building late in the afternoon tomorrow and thursday night and friday and it looks like the precipitation is holding off until the morning commute. the clouds are in place by 8:00 and most of the moisture is out to the west. as we head through midmorning into the early afternoon this is when the moisture moves in and you can see across the bulk of our viewing area that is the snow and this will primarily be a snow event and we'll see mixing south of philadelphia as we head through the afternoon hours, by about 5:30, i think

that mixed line will get close to philadelphia. we'll see a changeover to rain in philadelphia north though of the city, this will be a wet snow event and then it all moves out by friday evening so what are we expecting? extreme southern new jersey and central and southern delaware it's mainly a rain event and the i-95 corridor we are looking at 1 to 3 inches of slushy snow primary on the grass and the northwest suburbs, 3 to 6 inches primarily on the grass and the lehigh valley we could have messy roads with the slush. the five-day at 5:00, 46 degrees, and friday the wet snow and rain to welcome in spring and 38 degrees, saturday 55 and sunday and monday the temperatures drop back into the 40s, can we get a warm-up next week? adam will have the answer in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> thank you cecily.

hello again here is what is it happening on "action news" tonight. chaos at a famed museum in the north african country of tunisia when armed terrorists opened fire on tourists. today montgomery county students are burned out of their beloved school but are back to class and former congresswoman, gabrielle giffords brings her crusade for gun control laws to our area.

the dramatic video shows people running and lawmakers were rushed away and they sang it's national an them while a gun battle went on next door. karen travers is live with more on what happened in tunisia. >> the dead include tourists from italy, spain poland and germany. today they say the u.s. condemned in the strongest terms the deadly attack but a spokesperson did not weigh in on any possible connections to isis. a terrifying scene in tunisia and a manhunt underway at least 20 people were killed including 17 tourists after a shooting rampage at the museum in the capital city. they called it a cowardly operation, they were carrying

assault rifles and wearing military uniforms within they arrived at the 15th century palace when the tourists got off their bus to enter the museum. people scrambled for cover and the attackers pursued them and followed some inside. among the dead are tourists from italy, germany, spain and poland and two gunmen were also killed. the museum is located next to the parliament building as they huddled inside a stairwell, they broke out in song, the nation alan them. some 3,000 tune eeshans have joined state fighters in syria and iraq.

there is a search underway for two or three additional suspects. karen travers, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you karen. police are investigating death threats against caroline kennedy, our u.s. ambassador in japan, they were call to the u.s. embassy and the consulate general she began in 2013, and tokyo police are working with the state department on the investigation earlier this month the u.s. ambassador to south korea was slashed into the face by an anti-u.s. activist. world news tonight will have more on the investigation into the kennedy death threats as well as the tunisia museum massacre. we are learning more about the murder of a man inside of a northampton hotel room.

the body of andrew white was found in the room in easton and today the investigators explain how they caught up with the alleged shooter, they say he called his mother on the morning of the murder and told her he needed clothes and was coming to her house when he didn't show up she got in the car and left. she spotted her son a few blocks from the home, and he got in the car and showed her a video that she took on his cell phone. >> he told her he stripped the male and shot him in the head, she became scared of her son and notified police. >> he was involved in a standoff with police at his mother's house before being arrested and is charged with murder and the motive for the crime remains unclear. philadelphia police have a suspect in custody for a gas station shooting that sent a man

to the hospital. authorities arrestedin porter. he pulled a handgun and shot the victim several times. porter faces charges include ago tempted murder. students in montgomery county went back to school but not at their beloved campus investigator says someone set fire to their school building on saturday leaving the historic school building in ruins the students and staff are just happy to be back together. >> signs and hugs greeted wingcoat academy students at their new temporary location at gratz college. a fire devastated their school over the weekend and it remains a crime scene because investigators believe it was intensely set and chopper 6 hd

degrees, did you notice the major drop to it feels like 30 degrees at the same time today so a tremendous difference in a 24 hour time change because of the northwesterly winds that continue to drive in the windchills into the 30s, area wide 34 in allentown and 37 in philadelphia right now and feeling like 35 in millville and 20s in the poconos, satellite and radar with the cold winds coming in from the northwest, with relatively warmer waters the snow breaks out in rochester and into buffalo streaming in western new york state we have weak high pressure in control voiding any crowd color for our general area, the storm is brewing down to the south of dallas and houston to the east side of the low and pulling the moisture out of the gulf of mexico and spreading in the

western tennessee valley than continues its journey to the north and east for the end of week, the timing is another beautiful day and the clouds are here at 3:30 in the morning still generally dry we may work this out timing wise to arrive after the morning rush on friday. by lunch time that is when the heavy snow breaks out in millville and dover all north and west, mixing with rain down at the shore, and even in 5:00 in the afternoon the cold air looks to win out north of philadelphia staying at heavy wet snow, the same for trenton, and the mixing line of wet snow and rain and all rain by friday afternoon and south of the city and it exits here at 7:00 and 10:00 friday night. far southern areas of the shore and southern areas of delaware quick bursts of snow and rain and 1 to 3 inches for the area

and north of us? >> berks county 3 to 6 inches mainly on grass and trees if you are traveling on friday, march 20th the sun angle is high and it will be wet and slushy and just wet in south jersey and delaware. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, high clouds tomorrow and another chilly day at 46 and wet snow and rain depending on your location at 38 degrees, and then a quick turn around to 55 here, with sunshine here on saturday when the chill returns on sunday and monday highs in the mid-40s, and still in the 40s on tuesday and stays dry and closer to normal wednesday of 52 degrees, there will be slush on the roads but it's not like it's mid winter with it piling up on the roads.

students had to evacuate the school after becoming ill from fumes, the problem was the nearby paulsboro refinery. sara bloomquist is live from the nearby medical center. >> reporter: students and staff members were treated and released and they had walk-ins this afternoon and those people are being evacuated right now, they got sick from an odor described as rotten eggs coming from a refinery located next door to the high school. students and staff smelled a foul odor here all week and this morning some started to feel sick. most kids i saw were putting their heads down and having stomach aches and headaches from the smell. students were transported to the medical center in
