family who said the attack was not the first. a protest in light of a scandal of a fraternity involving pictures of nude women. warming up the first full day of spring will bring brighter skies and warmer temperatures that will help melt the snow. meteorologist chris sowers joins us with the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. clearly not happy about the snow we got yesterday. >> reporter: everybody else feels the same way. the good news, eva later this afternoon there may not be snow on the ground. temperatures are climbing into the mid 350 os later -- 50s later on. we'll see a decent amount of sunshine that will help to melt the snow. the roads in the back ground are wet. some of the secondary roads are slick. we're seeing black ice reported with freezing drizzle across south jersey, that combined with the frozen slush making the secondary roads slick.

northbound side of the road, the other crash happened in the southbound lanes penndot was called to salt the road. there were no reported injuries in either accident. earlier this week we told you about a pitbull that a6abc.commed three members of -- three members of the adopted family. the animal control team was warned about the dog. >> reporter: we started to hear from another family only days earlier the same dog whom they were fostering viciously attacked and injured the family dog and they had warned the agency not to put the dog up for adoption. >> the lady said he was great with kids and great with other dogs. >> reporter: they picked up the 2 1/2-year-old pitbull and provide him foster care until they could find a permanent home.

they took her dog to meet him. the next day a terrible thing happened. >> he tried to get on top of my dog, my dog growled he gripped on chole's face and wouldn't let go. her dog had to have a number of stitches for the tears to chole's face. she called the representative who said they would come back and pick up the dog. she was startled when she heard that the agency would move forward to put the dog up for adoption. i said he attacked my dog. what if he attacks the kids. she saw a caption that dom was adopted. two days later the dog attacked the family, they had to be

hospitalized. >> i couldn't believe the poor family, the kids, it could have my kids. how can someone sleep at night knowing they dogged this dog out -- adopted this dog out knowing it viciously attacked my dog. >> reporter: after a number of attempts to get the agency to explain, the executive director called us to say while i don't know all the facts, we are looking into it. we have policy in place to protect families from dangerous animals. the dog has been placed in quarantine and will be put down. in hunting park, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> breaking news, seven children were killed overnight at a house fire in brooklyn, all of them are believed to be from the same family. two survivors were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. witnesses say i jumped from the time window of the three story home and yelled for someone to help her children trapped inside. more than 100 firefighters

battled the flames and smoke. firefighters are looking for clues is to what sparked the blaze. police are looking into the discovery of a body of a boarding house. officers found the body in the living room on spruce street. police think she had been dead for days or weeks from a gun shot wound. residents of the home have criminal records including sex and firearms charges. philadelphia police say the teenager who pulled the trigger in the murder of james stuhlman has surrendered. he is now in custody. he and two other teens allegedly tried to rob stuhlman as he was walking his dog on wood crest avenue. hamilton and brandon smith are being charged as adults. a 14-year-old was adler. former state senator vince fumo wants out of jail.

he filed a petition requesting an early release from his three years supervised probation. he spent five years in prison for defrauding state senate and two charities out of millions. an assistant u.s. attorney will review the pet petition and file a response next week. penn state students call for stronger penalties against the fraternity who put nude pictures on an invitation only facebook page. protester also want the school to expel the students. >> this is not representative of our entire university. >> this is unacceptable we are? support of our sisters who are crowd -- outraged by the

warmer air today is expected to melt the snow. people in boston, there's plenty of snow around from the brutal beating that left the area with a record 108.6 inches of snow. the boston area saw an inch of snow from yesterday's storm. that's like a drop in the bucket. >> reporter: you can google this, you could say record breaking snow for boston, there are signs everywhere that says we did it. you guys have problems up there. that's the view of the ben franklin bridge. we have a lot of cloud cover upstairs, we have freezing drizzle reported across south jersey but our snowstorm is long gone it's working out to sea. double scan live showing a crystal clean slate. that looks better than yesterday, right? but, again some areas across south jersey, you can see it right there, there are patchy aerials of freezing drizzle. slow it down on the roads.

feels like 29 degrees in wildwood. satellite and radar there's what's left of yesterday's storm, continues to work out to sea. today we'll see some clearing, lots of clouds and breaks during the afternoon. the winds shift out of the southwest. temperatures get into the 50s and then this cold front right here that slams the door shut on it, we go back into the mid 40s for high. this is prefrontal. that's what we call it ahead of the cold front. today is a nice day. we get into monday, we get the cold front winds shift out of the northwest. chilly day highs in the mid 40s, when you factor in the winds it will feel like the mid to upper 30s. 40 degrees by lunchtime today clouds and sunshine. later this afternoon 51. reading and lancaster, sun 58, 57. and throughout the evening hours, the numbers drop off as the cold front slides through.

8. spring has sprung are we done with the cold weather? the answer is no. the if you look toward the top of the screen there's a hefty shot of cold air lurking in the wings toward the hudson bay region that will come down toward the mid atlantic and the northeast sunday. this will drop temperatures back down into the low to mid 40s for highs. overall pattern will look like this. nice and mild, winds out of the southwest gets us into the low to mid 50s. once we get past tuesday this is what we call a ridge that will push east that will force the chilly weather out to sea. sunday through tuesday that's when the cooler air moves in. it gets better by wednesday. eva. >> turning to sports, nova plays in the round of 32 in the

cold shot moves in. i'll have the details on how cold this shot will be and how long it last in the seven-day forecast. eva. >> thanks, chris. new this morning, a man was shot and killed on the streets in pottstown. police are searching for the gunman right there at the intersection of washington and beach streets. police are looking for the shooter shooters they are trying to figure out a motive for the shooting. there were frightening moments understand the new new orleans international airport when a machete-wielding man ran through security. we have details on how it unfolded inside the busy terminal. >> reporter: police cars swarmed the terminal at louie armstrong international airport in new orleans. a man identified as 63-year-old richard white confronted a tsa officer. >> he pulled out a can of wasp spray and sprayed the officer in the face. >> reporter: white attack two

more tsa agents, one with a ma ma -- machete. >> the officer fired three times hight the perpetrator. >> witnesses say it was pandemonium. >> outside i hear pow! i heard people screaming and all of a sudden so many cops started coming by. >> reporter: several people including a tsa officer suffered minor injuries, abc new york. police say the off-duty police officer involved in a deadly wrong-way crash posted a photo on instagram hours earlier, three shot glasses filled with alcohol. this is the picture posted by 27-year-old linden police

officer. he drove the wrong way staten island crashing into a tractor-trailer. two other off duty officers and 4th person were at the strip club. the driver and another were critically injured and a third officer and another person were killed. new jersey state police have identified two people killed in the fiery crash on the atlantic city expressway. sean mcbride and gabrielle lynnes were driving in the westbound lanes in hamilton township when their car lost control and hit boot vehicle and caught fire. the -- another vehicle and caught fire. the driver of the other car was also hurt. the calls of the crash has not been -- the cause of the crash has not been determined. the children of the

go to the police. >> the pictures have been viewed 50,000 times. penn state students will be paying more next year for room and board and a senior aid to governor tom wolf isn't happened about it. penn state voted to increase average cost 4% or $200. they blame high food cost and payroll demands and other expenses. wolf's policy secretary said the governor does not support increases above the rate of inflation. pennsylvania officials say more people are working in the state. payroll hit a record high. 13,000 jobs were added last month for a history-making total of below 50.83 million. the tally means all the jobs have been recovered since the recession. a young girl was reunited with

her family last night thanks to the help of a good samaritan. 8-year-old jade dotson's mom michelle is a philadelphia police officer. jade was supposed to be dropped off at her grandmother's house but instead the bus driver left her off several blocks away. disoriented, she went into a warning where she was for an hour until a good samaritan helped her. the bulls company said the -- the bus company said the bus was being driven by a new driver and didn't know the usual drop off stop. governor tom wolf made a stop in philadelphia where he stressed his commitment to early

sad when she looked out the window to see all the snow. the lehigh valley got the worst of it, shovel and snow blowers had to be brought out of the garage in allentown. a woman went to four stores for rock salt, but no luck. this sign echoed the request of many residents. police say this car was going too fast in the snow, the woman driving paid with her life. her car was crushed by a tractor-trailer after slamming into a guide rail on i-80. that's an interesting response from people yesterday when we were talking about the snow. do you care to share? >> i don't think we can say those things on tv. >> reporter: someone has explaining to do. they say march comings in like a lie yorn and out like -- lion and out like a lamb. march has felt like february.

>> reporter: if you can't transform your hardwood floor the floor of dreams, we have a way to do it. >> people don't think to do, but i think they will after they see what it looks like. >> reporter: remove the carpet and the staples. we'll paint the floor with porch paint. we have to take care of the seams and any of the nail holes we don't want to see. we'll mix the puddy and fill in all the seams and once it dries it will be ready to paint. >> we're rolling a base coat of porch paint on to the floor. for best results we suggest letting this dry overnight. the next step we're going to do is paint on some stripes. it's going to give us the multitone look. we'll use the chalk line and then we'll tape.
