gandys beach 39. avalon and woodbine 41. satellite and radar high pressure moving in from the north that will provide us with a nice-looking day shades of blue, lots of sunshine this afternoon, it will be blustery and cold, numbers climbing into the mid 40s we're hooting for a high of 45. what you're not seeing there is the wind. when you factor in the wind it will put windchills down in the 30s all day long. you'll need to bundle up if you're out and about today. as we look ahead unfortunately spring is on hold, temporarily at least for the next two to three days. blustery windchills over that span. temperatures average anywhere from 10 to 15 degrees below normal. that's the next two to three days, things warm up nicely as we get into wednesday and thursday, i'll talk about that when i see you guys again in ten minutes. new this morning a woman had to jump from a second floor balcony to escape a fire in an apartment collection in somers point, new jersey. the action cam was on the scene

after 2:50. the somers point villas on mays landing road. the woman who jumped and another resident were taken to the hospital for injuries that officials say are not serious. five apartments are badly damaged. there's no word on how many people were displaced. investigators are looking for the cause. >> the villanova wildcats returned to campus this afternoon reeling from the stunning loss to north carolina state. top seeded nova got out rebounded all night long, losing 71-68. the wildcats missed a handful of makeable shots. jeff skeverski was in pittsburgh as the cats tried to digest the missed opportunity. >> reporter: villanova star javon pinkston said if they did not get to the final four it

pennsylvania, a stand at liberty high school he went on to thrive on the field at the university of pennsylvania and played 14 seasons with the philadelphia eagles. >> chuck bednaric was one of the you one of -- is one of the few if he were playing in the nfl he would be an outstanding linebacker. >> reporter: he made devastating tackle against then giant frank giver ford. he took the birds to two championships. he played linebacker and center. this is one of the plays that made him a legends. >> philadelphia eagles have won the world championship of professional football. >> reporter: in 2010 he took jeff skeverski back to the very spot on franklin field. >> right here, yes game-saving tackle. >> reporter: eagles announcer remembers the tough talker who got the name concrete charlie for his job off the field

can't -- ron jaworski pays tribute to chuck bednaric. seven brothers and sisters will be laid to rest today after a mall functioning hot plate being used for the sabbeth may have ignited the inferno. the mother and sister escaped jumping from a second-story window. the mayor visited the home after the fire. funeral services tentatively planned for this afternoon. a machete wielding man shot in a rampage at new orleans international airport has died. richard white was chasing tsa agents through the airport with a long blade. he was closing in on a tsa agent when a sheriff shot him. we'll have more about the hero in the incident coming up in the

yesterday, there were no injuries report. afghanistan's president is making his first visit to the united states. before leaving his country yesterday he said he is hopeful that peace talks with the taliban could start soon. he prepared that the government is preparing for heavy fighting with the taliban in the coming months. he is dealing with a rising threat from groups affiliated with the islamic state. he is expected to ask president obama to extend military presence in the afghanistan. ten thousand american forces remain in the country. happening today the u.n. counsel has called for an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in yemen. today shiite rebels took control of the country's third largest city. u.s. troops evacuated a southern air base that was crucial to the drone strikes against the islamic state groups.

madness. >> outside we go to chris sowers. good morning chris. >> reporter: good morning, milled i -- nydia it's blustery and cold with temperatures in the 40s and windchills in the 30s. these are the wind speeds across the region. 16 in the poconos. wilmington, 14 and 7 in wildwood. the numbers you see in front of you right there are feeling five to seven degrees colder thanks to the wind. we have windchills in the 20 and 30s. 38 in philadelphia. feels like 40 in dover. in trenton, feels like 34 degrees. later this afternoon here's the big problem the numbers will not climb that much that's saying something considering the time of the year. how high the sun angle is.

her. the fight woke up the boy. the ex-boyfriend took out a gun and fired at him. he is in stable condition with a bullet wound to the leg. police are searching for the suspect. fire chased 6 children a man and woman from a row home in north philadelphia. flames railed through two floors of the home in olney just before midnight. everyone got out safely on their own. they have asked for help from the red cross. the fire was contained in 20 minutes. the cause of the blaze is under investigation this morning. philadelphia police spent saturday night rounding up what they called illegal atvs and dirt bikes. a rapper's concert got their attention. kenneth moten has gathered more information on the crackdown. >> reporter: philadelphia police motorcycle patrol was revved up saturday night after a citywide dirt bike atv crackdown netted the most in a one day operation. >> it's dangerous, it callses

auto accidents. there's the possibility that we have individuals on the sidewalks that are going to come hit by the dirpt -- dirt bikes. >> reporter: this side this garage in hunting park they came in all sizes and colors. in all a team of officers with air support and a lot more confiscated 68 dirt bikes and atvs. the up tick in travel sparked by warmer weather and a rapper. meek mill. >> we got wind on social media there would be a ride out. >> reporter: officers say the majority of these bikes were from out of town concert goers who claim they didn't know the law. >> two of the trucks were transporting stolen atvs or dirt bikes.

nc state player pat barber pointed out that the president picked nova. more information on the machete-wielding man at the new orleans airport, the man has died. he left explosives behind. we have more from kendis gibson. >> reporter: panic chaos passengers returning and a bloody machete lying on the ground. this is the suspect richard white investigators say he stormed into the terminal at louie armstrong airport and attacked. tsa agent with wasp spray and then with the 14-inch blade. >> i started swinging my suit case at him he runs the other way into a tsa agent.

and tomorrow, wall-to-wall blue, lots of sunshine, very tranquil weather pattern. you see the direction the wind is blowing out of the north. we're tapping into this, right here, the canadian provinces temperatures in the teens and 20s. that cold air will drive into the heart of the delaware valley over the next 24, 48 hours. canadian high sets up shop over new england and then it retreats and we'll see the warmer weather pull in. the rain comes along with it, we'll trade in dry conditions for wet weather for week's end. we don't have permanent change until after easter. i believe easter is the 5th of april. anywhere from the 5th to the 8th. that should be when we see our last cold shot.
