without gay marriage irs, abortion gun control and obamacare. those hard line conservative views have many pundits to believe he's a long shot to win citing his combative tone as a problem. the republican primary field is expected to be crowded all but officially campaigning are former governor jeb bush governor chris christie form senatorer rick santorum governor rick perry and rand paul who told fox news they need to do more than throw red meat at the base. >> he is a conservative but it goes to winnability. >> reporter: but cruz thinks he has what it takes to win. >> what i am so encouraged by is the enthusiasm that we're seeing particularly in the early primary states. >> reporter: cruz says he's not worried about being at the bottom of the polls because he approaches every race as an underdog. >> susan saulny thanks so much. hillary clinton appears to be taking the flack over her private e-mail accounts in stride. joking about it last night in a room full of reporters, clinton

kagan and sonia sotomayor both princeton graduates were going. fortunately the threat not sub stapts yachted. the fbi is taking the online isis hit list against specific members of the military seriously and the bureau is working with federal, state and local law enforcement in response to the posting that identified certain american troops and called eded out muslims to find them and kill them and they acknowledged most came from the department's public website or social media. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu is now apologizing for inflammatory remarks he made on the eve of last week's election trailing in the polls then he told supporters they had to get out the vote because israeli arab citizens were voting. the white house, however, is still upset with netanyahu who also said on election eve that he would never agree to a palestinian state. utah is the only state to afire a firing squad as a method of execution used as a backup

choice if no lethal drugs avariable. they say it's faster and more decent than long drawn-out deaths when the execution is botched. millionaire murder suspect robert durst may be linked to another cold case under investigation for the 1971 disappearance of a college student in vermont. police say he owned a health food store in the area the same time the 18-year-old woman went missing. meanwhile, a judge in new orleans denied durst's bail on gun and drug charges after prosecutors say he was a flight risk. durst has been investigated in three deaths so far. police have found nothing to prove the exclusive claim of gang rape at the university of virginia. "rolling stone" first reported the claim a student named jackie was assaulted at a fraternity party. the article was later discredited. jackie refused to cooperate with the police investigation. all uva fraternities were shut down for a time after the article was published. the frat named in it may sue the

magazine. george zimmermann says his conscience is clear after the shooting death of trayvon martin. he says he doesn't blame himself because there was nothing else he could do that would have saved both their lives but he does blame president obama for stirring up divisiveness with the personal remarks he made after the shooting. >> president obama held his rose garden speech stating if i had a son he would look like trayvon. to me that was clearly an dereliction of duty pinning americans against each other solely based on race. >> zimmermann is speaking out because the u.s. justice department ended its investigation and has decided not to prosecute him for a hate crime. new numbers on obamacare. the cdc says 11 million fewer americans are without health insurance since the program started five years ago. although that would till leave 37 million people uninsured. it's the lowest level measured in more than 15 years.

construction accident in north carolina. three workers were killed and one seriously injured. the collapse of scaffolding at a building in downtown raleigh. records show the company had been cited for serious safety violations twice in the past ten years in north carolina. a maryland police officer was responding to a call of a fight in progress last night but he never made it. when he reached one intersection he hit an suv than slammed into a pole. the cruiser came to a vertical stop resting against the pole on its trunk. no one was injured but the officer was taken to the hospital to be checked out. if you haven't had breakfast yet make sure it's whole grain cereal. it could add years to your life. harvard researchers found these high fiber cereals reduced the risk of death from cancer by 17% and from diabetes by 34%. overall they found a diet high in whole grains and cereal finers reduces the risk of premature death from a range of chronic diseases.
