pradelli is live at the school in towamencin township with the full story tonight. chad. >> reporter: hey rick a-few students around 11 o'clock this morning walked out of school to protest the alleged treatment of some female students at north penn high. appears most students went to the auditorium where the district superintendent and principal was meeting were students all day to discuss concerns about this ever growing problem. the walk out was sparsely attended but talk about the nude photo scandal at north penn high has been loud and clear. >> a lot of us just feel humiliated and vulnerable and like their privacy was broken. >> guys ask girls all the time, i've been asked multiple times but you have to ignore it. >> i don't think it's right. first i don't see why the girls would send the pictures out but it's completely wrong for the guys to be making things like that. >> reporter: students say the nude photos have been uploaded to the application drop box. they say it's been going on for months and dozens of girls may have had what they thought

were private photos shared. >> and they literally trade them like pokemon cards. >> i was sent the ling and i opened it and then i straight up just deleted it off my phone because that's a possibility that i'm going get in trouble. >> reporter: school administrators declined request for an on camera interview but a spokesperson says they learned of the photos only last week and contacted authorities immediately. principal burt hynes release add video statement on the district's web site pleading for patience as the investigation moves forward. >> i continue to urge anyone with knowledge that would contribute to the investigation of such activity to directly contact his or her local police department. >> reporter: and a montgomery county district attorney tells me that these are serious crimes and anyone involved could face felony charges. i'm live in towamencin, chad pradelli, channel6 "action news." rick. >> all right, chad, thank you. a philadelphia jury today

awarded more than $38 million to the families of two women killed by a coworker at the old kraft food plant in northeast philadelphia. happened in september of 2010 when yvonne hiller carried a .357 magnum into the factory and shot two women. hiller had been arguing with. the lawsuit targeted u.s. securities the firm that provided guards for the plant. testimony showed the unarmed security guards failed to warn employees that hiller had a gun. she's now serving life in prison without parole. 11 people now face felony charges for what investigators call an elaborate auto insurance fraud scheme. delaware county d.a. jack whelan says darby borough ought though shop owner frank wilson has been under investigation for years. he says wilson enhanced damage to vehicles and profitd from inflated claims. wilson and 10 alleged coconspirators defrauded insurance companies.

two victims killed in a plane crash in chester county still have not been identified. the plane went down shortly after takeoff from the brandywine airport. that's where "action news" reporter john rawlins joins us live with the latest on the investigation. john. >> reporter: hi, rick. we learn that investigators are concerned about witness reports of a sputtering engine at takeoff. we're also learning why the flight took place. it was a flight evaluation or a check ride. every two years a u.s. pilot is supposed to undergo a check ride with an faa designated flight instructor. that is what the case was yesterday. but it went terribly wrong. investigators were at the crash site today not far from the end of the brandywine runway. the family of one of the pilots stopped and talked to the ntsb and took in the sight where the small plane slammed into the ground and burned yesterday. doug stuart learned the fly here walking his dog yesterday near the runway he told us he watched the piper first stop a takeoff roll. >> he went about halfway down

the runway and then aborted the takeoff. >> reporter: he stopped the takeoff. >> yeah, he pulled off onto the taxi way. >> reporter: a short time later he says the plane rolled again, this time he heard a disturbing noise. >> what sounded like a car backfire and about four of them a very loud pop and then he actually left the ground and then i heard about eight more pops. >> reporter: stuart says the plane struggled, turned abruptly left and dropped. the ntsb says another witness reported hearing a sputtering engine. >> followed by an engine that was -- engine power was restored by the witness account. the witness heard the sputtering again. >> reporter: the investigation will look at many things including engine records and fuel though the intense fire likely burned much of the fuel. >> based on the accounts of a sputtering engine we're going to check the fuel supply system. the tanks are consumed portions of them are consumed but we will check what we can.

>> reporter: well, the process of accident evaluation here could take months, maybe as much as a year before there will be a final report though they hope to have a preliminary report out maybe in the next 10 days or so. they hoped to release the pilot's names today but in talking to the coroner, it may be until wednesday they are waiting for dental records to make a positive i.d. live in west goshen, john rawlins, channel6 "action news." rick. >> all right, john, thank you. opening statements were heard today in the trial of six former philadelphia narcotics officers. the men are accused of stealing money drugs cash and other valuables from alleged drug dealers. prosecutors claim the lucrative scheme ran from 2006 until 2012. key testimony for the prosecution is expected from former police officer jeffrey walker. he pled guilty last year. defense attorneys say he and the drug suspects also set to testify can cannot be trusted. well, clouds early in the day have cleared giving way to some sunshine this afternoon. we're taking a live look from our new temple university sky

cam at the ben franklin bridge and it is a nice evening out there. breaks of sunshine and it was a mild monday, although there are some changes in the accuweather forecast, both good and bad actually. meteorologist cecily tynan has the latest from accuweather tonight. hi, cecily. >> hi, rickly we started off this day with lots of clouds and some rain and, yes even some snow showers. storm tracker 6 live double scan along with satellite6 showing at 6:30 in the morning some of those snow showers working out of philadelphia into south jersey, some rain across parts of delaware moved out pretty quickly and now we're seeing some breaks in the clouds but also a few sprinkles here or there but once the sun sets, the clouds will be breaking up tonight. however, don't get used to the quiet weather. things will be changing tomorrow afternoon. right now temperatures in the mid-50's. 56 degrees. we hit 57 this afternoon in philadelphia. that's just 1 degree shy of our average high for this time of the year. it felt pretty nice considering over the weekend temperatures were stuck in the

with murder but she's facing serious charges tonight. "action news" reporter david henry has more. >> reporter: darby township police continue to build a possible murder case against officer hudson's girlfriend. she's in jail now on lesser charges. officer hudson's chief says it was a very stormy relationship. >> he was doing things to protect his job and protect himself and they were the right things. >> reporter: last august, officer mark hudson called police to his house after his girlfriend tyaina finch allegedly threatened him with a knife n january officer hudson got a protection from abuse order against finch. about a week ago sources say she managed to move back into hudson's home in glenolden. hudson's colleagues say he had been trying to make a complete break with her fearing for his own safety. >> i believe absolutely he was afraid of this woman. >> reporter: saturday afternoon police say neighbors heard a loud argument coming from this rear bedroom window, then a gun shot. police sources say it was not suicide.

they say the shot from officer hudson's own service revolver was fired from about 4 feet away. finch was the only other person there at the time. she was hospitalized over the weekend after suffering what sources describe as diabetic related seizures. sources say finch was arrested and arraigned in her hospital bed this morning. she is charged with making terroristic threats possession of an instrument of crime and simple assault. detectives were back at officer hudson's home today with relatives collecting more evidence and his uniform. he served as a police officer in darby and was a firefighter with the yeadon fire company. >> officer hudson's funeral is set for this saturday. tyaina finch is being held on $250,000 bail as darby township police here continue to work on a possible murder case. in sharon hill, david henry channel6 "action news." >> and still to come on "action news" tonight city officials announce the date for the launch of

>> police say a taxi driver was drunk when he drove the wrong way on columbus boulevard and crashed in south philadelphia. the incident started when an officer spotted the white town car stopped at delaware and race early this morning. the officer tapped on the window. when the driver did not respond, the officer broke the window fearing the driver had some type of medical issue. well the driver woke up and

started driving southbound in the northbound lanes. police say he drove over the platt bridge and back again before finally crashing into a fence. well, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of dui. a south jersey man has been charged with murder in the death of his nine week old stepdaughter. cumberland county prosecutors also charged 33-year-old manuel mikes of millville with child endangerment. mike center city being held on $1 million bail tonight. responding emergency crews found the baby unresponsive at a millville home on friday. authorities say the child died from blunt trauma to the back of her head. food trucks took center stage today during a philadelphia city council meeting. the committee on streets and services listened to testimony on a bill requiring inspections and other regulations regarding the vehicle's fuel tanks. council president darrell clarke proposed the measure last year after a mother and her daughter were killed when their food truck exploded in hunting park. he says safety must be the city's first priority.

>> i think we should have a safe environment. when you look at areas like universities, temple university, drexel university, penn, we literally have blocks and blocks of food trucks in close proximity to a significant number of pedestrians. >> clark says he hopes to have the bill finalized by next month. senator cory booker paid a visit to a camden charter school today. he personally spoke with individual students at katz delsea academy. addressed the entire student body. booker talked about the uniqueness of new jersey. it's official. philadelphia's bikeshare program will be up and rolling next month. the program will launch on april 23rd. it includes 600 bicycles and 70 docking stations. end go will operate 24 hours a day

>> eagles may be adding another wideout. ducis here with the details. >> rick they certainly need to. no germ maclin on the roster. miles austin will visit with the eagles. source tells us he's due if tomorrow. we're also told no deal has been signed yet. austin ended last season on injured reserve with a kidney injury. his best season came in 2009 when he caught 11 touchdowns. eagles and demeco ryans agreed on a one year contract extension. the 30-year-old linebacker signed through the 2016 season ryan center city coming off a torn achilles tendon which cost him the second half of last season. we'll spare you the math problem. flyers eliminated from playoff contention. flyers did this to themselves. they played poorly down the stretch. they have two victories in the last 11 games. jake voracek hasn't quit at least not in practice. good check there. this season has been a disappointment. >> it's frustrating to be in this position we are right

more expendable. until the phillies close a deal for jonathan papelbon he will be the phillies closer. but when the time comes for him to throw his last pitch in philadelphia ken giles will take over. he's the heir apparent in the back of the bullpen way fast ball in flies 100 miles per hour. >> i always wanted to be a closer but i mean i have to earn that job. >> reporter: giles is quickly showing he's ready. he had a 1.18 era as a rookie last year with 64 strikeouts in less than 46 innings and at one of the 23 years old giles has a lot to learn. papelbon has tin him and the other relievers under his wing. >> sometimes you get a group of can kids that come along, you help them along and you say something and it sticks with them and they carry that and they get better and better. >> i still got things to learn. i still want to learn some things that he has in his brain of his 'cause i know he's been there before, he's been in the world series, he's

drying out after some showers this morning. let's go live on sky 6. taking a look at the view over the ben franklin bridge and clouds breaking for some sunshine today. little bit of a battle going on between the clouds and the sun. the accuweather highlights show that, yes, we have turned warmer after the weekend. temperatures stuck in the 40's this weekend. saturday 41. the official high sunday 46, lots of sunshine yesterday today though we bumped it up to 57 degrees. that's just 1 degree shy of the normal high for this time of the year so temperatures are trending warmer. heading towards tuesday though, i'm tracking a fast moving system, a clipper that will be diving in and this will bring us some damp conditions. the rain between about noon and 8 o'clock. we're looking at a light rain. generally about a quarter to a a third of an inch. the far northwest suburbs wet snowflakes mixed in and it's a system strong enough to pull town that cold air from higher in the atmosphere. poconos could end up with 1 to 2 inches of slushy wet snow. right now 56 degrees in

philadelphia. millville 57. i know i said the s word again, don't blame the messenger. trenton 53, allentown 53, wilmington 57 and reading 54 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing one system is moving out and clouds will begin to clear out once the sun sets but then they'll be thickening tomorrow morning as this clipper moves in but the best chance to see sunshine, you want to see some sunshine wake up early. future tracker showing around 8 o'clock in the morning plenty of sunshine but it only lasts for about an hour, an hour and a half before the clouds roll in. the rain here by midday and early afternoon and then you can see some of those wet snowflakes in the far northwest suburbs but then it moves out by about 8:30 on tuesday night. and wednesday is looking really nice as far as sky conditions. wednesday, april fool's day high pressure building in. this will bring us loads of sunshine but with winds out of the northwest. it will be cool. temperatures running about 7 degrees below average, the high only 52 degrees but at

least it will be a dry start to april. so, the call from accuweather for tonight some clouds here and there. it will be seasonably cool, 30 in the suburbs, 37 for center city and the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast starts the day with brief sunshine, loads roll in. that rain by the afternoon and evening, a few wet snowflakes mixed in north and west. 52 degrees. on wednesday bright sunshine for april fool's day but chilly, 52 degrees but that chill does not last long. thursday nicest day of the week. much warmer. 65 degrees. friday up to 68 degrees. good friday. but that will come with some on and off showers and passover begins at sundown and behind that system for the weekend some cooler air moves in. saturday gradual clearing. we'll wake up with some clouds, maybe a few lingering showers, 52 degrees. easter sunday will be dry but cool, mostly sunny 54 degrees. and monday clouds will be on the increase for phillies
