i'm rick williams. the big story on "action news" tonight is the underground attack prompting concerns overrider safety. "action news" reporter kenneth moton has exclusive details and joins us live from center city kenneth. >> reporter: well, rick investigators say the the victim and that group of teenagers had words on the el. the argument continued when they stepped off the train at 15th and market street. the man tried to walk away but that didn't stop the the violent attack. the thinks 15th and market platform camera that captured the attack of the 60 year-old something rider on the market frankford line on monday. septa isn't ready to release the video just yet but it shows a group of eight young males and female exit a westbound el train with the victim around 3:00 p.m. they surroundedded him before one of the males delivered a sucker punch so hard it laid the man out cold. >> everybody just had to be together and we will not put it up with it. >> these are kids. >> reporter: this temple university student does not want to be identified saw the

presbyterian hospital. as for the the shooter ballistics has revealed that the gunman fired at least six hots from a large caliber semiautomatic weapon. he remains on the loose tonight. a deadly fire in darby township chopper six over the scene here as flames and billowing smoke engulfed this home on west jackson street. fire fighters spent several minutes trying to save the home as well as the person who lived here but they could not. block of west jackson in darby township. fire chief says flames spread quickly through the home and fire fighters work to pull it out. >> you can see at the time the flames and smoke overwhelmed us where we had to retreat and fight from the distance just to make sure that everything surrounded wasn't exposed to also the the fire. the it was a battle. >> reporter: four homes were evacuated out of concerns there may be a gas leak. it took fire fighters 20 in minute to bring the fire under control but it would be sometime later before they would find the bod irv duke freeman in the basement of the home. by all accounts the elderly gentlemen was well liked. >> mr. duke was a wonderful person. he would do anything for anybody in the community, you know, he is one of those once if you needed help he will be right there to help you. he was loved, he is loved by everybody. >> at one time when i was a youngster he actually raised me. i played in the band and stayed down here and grew up

full accu weather forecast, rick. >> we will talk later, thank you. small group of student walk out of the north pen high school today in montgomery county because of an investigation in the nude photo scandal. officials say boys at the school were posting the pictures of the female classmates. north penn's principal issued a video statement saying he would meet with any concerned students. he also said investigations like this one take time to complete and it won't be instant answers to the questions that many have have. a deadly industrial accident at the the sunoco marcus hook refinery, a worker was killed this have afternoon. the company sent its deep sympathies to the family and friend of the contractor who died at around 2:30 but did not identify the victim or say what led to the deadly incident. investigators are bidding a case begins girlfriend of the murdered darby township police officer mark hudson. he was shot and killed by his own service revolver at his home on saturday.

half million-dollar, that is what a philadelphia jury is awarding to the families of two women, who were killed by a crazed co-worker at old kraft foot plant on the boulevard in northeast philadelphia back in september 2010, yvonne hiller brought a 357 magnum into the plant shortly after being suspended for making violent threats. she claimed other employees were poisoning her with toxic

chemicals. she went on a shooting spree killing 36 year-old le tanya brown and tanya wilson. the lawyers for victim's families says unarmed guard working for u.s. security a associate failed to protect their loved ones and that one of the guard ran away and hid in the boiler room and neither of them warned employees or kraft management but they did call 911. u.s. security associate is vowing a appeal of the punitive damage is a ward saying the guard made reasonable decisions and acted with courage in the face of a direct threat to their own lives. well the investigation continues tonight into that deadly shooting outside of the national security agency headquarters. two men dressed a as women tried to crash through the front gate this morning but they were stopped by armed a nsa officers. driving erratically right at these nsa officers and that is when the guard opened fire. terrorism is not the leading theory tonight a wild night, gone wrong, is. dramatic scene on the ground of the national security agency, and it all played out in broad daylight. just after 9:00 a.m. two men inside of this stolen dark colored suv a approached the main nsa entrance and according to an nsa statement ignored guard's order to stop. they made it past the first gate and then barricades were immediately raised. that is when nsa police and patrol truck opened fire, killing one of the men and critically injuring the second. the the suv then collided with the a patrol truck injuring one of the officers. >> cpr in progress with one. >> reporter: when dust settled authorities discovered the men were wearing wigs and female clothing. one of the wigs still on the ground long after the shooting. the two reportedly had been on a joy ride.
