jay z making a big splash launching a new online streaming service with some of the biggest stars in the business from madonna to rihanna to kanye. are you just a few second as way from a new way to get your music? ♪ and we do say good morning, america. on this tuesday morning. that was some serious star power occupy on that stage. >> we want to get right to the breaking news. an active dangerous situation in northern virginia where an escaped prisoner is on the loose, police the fbi, u.s. marshals searching a hospital and nearby neighborhood after he overpowered an armed security guard. david kerley is on the scene with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, george. you can hear a siren much you can see the police cars. miles of this area have been cordoned off as they're looking for this suspect at this hour.

people are being told to stay in their homes at this point. just ten miles from washington, d.c. a lockdown this morning. an escaped prisoner who police call armed and dangerous on the loose. authorities in virginia say woosen assaye overpowered a guard, stole his gun as they were transferring him from jail to the invoa fairfax hospital. fairfax county police tweeting out this image of assaye saying he's wearing a hospital gown no shoes and armed with a gun. >> stay available so i can use you to deploy on this guy when he pops up. >> reporter: heavily armed police mobilizing around this area. the hospital no one in no one out, all major entrances and roads blocked and residented warned to stay inside their homes. this suspect has been charged with one of a string of bank robberies they think he is responsible for that have happened in this area. he was being transferred to the hospital which is a couple of miles up this road when he

grabbed a security guard's gun and fled with just that gown and no shoes. the manhunt on and people are being told stay in your hopes until they get what is considered an armed and dangerous suspect back in custody. george. >> thanks david. for more we're joined by lieutenant brook wright of the fairfax county police department. thank you for joining us. what more can you tell us about where the suspect might be right now. >> we don't believe that he's gone far. at this time we do have several of the large area roads blocked off and vehicles are being checked but we are asking employees to report to a local high school a falls church high school where they can be shuttled into the area after their i.d.s are checked at that location. >> reports that the suspect has a gun is dressed in a hospital gown barefoot. do you know if he was able to get into a car? there's one report he was able to contact a girlfriend who was driving. >> what i have been told he does have a girlfriend who resides in the area however they don't know

if she has access to a vehicle. >> this suspect has quite a long record of armed robbery. >> recently taken into custody on several federal bank robbery charges. i don't know more about it at this time. >> and he has been charged, as well. but right now he's considered armed and dangerous. are you confident he actually does have a weapon? >> yes, when he fled he did have the weapon that belonged to the private security guard. >> fbi involved as well? >> yes, they are here as are marshals and several other federal partners including state police. >> okay lieutenant wright thank you very much for your time. >> we'll keep everybody updated. to the outrage over indiana's new religious freedom law and an op-ed was written and lawmakers feeling the pressure from protests and boycotts and say they're going to change the language to protect gays and

less been lesbians against discrimination. gio benitez has the latest. >> reporter: look at the front page of "the indianapolis tar" that bold headline "fix this now." legislators telling us that's exactly what they're going to do. overnight indiana's governor clarifying his stance on the controversial religious freedom act saying in an op-ed he abrors discrimination and if i saw a restaurant owner refuse to serve a gay couple i wouldn't eat there anymore. >> do you think it should be legal in the state of indiana to discriminate against gays or lesbians? >> george -- >> it's a yes or no question. >> come on. hoosiers don't believe in discrimination. >> all: no hate in our state. >> reporter: indiana legislators telling abc news they're now planning to revise key language in the religious freedom law.

that clause critics fear could protect businesses that discriminate against gay and lesbian customers. it cannot be used to discriminate against 234e7b. >> it's our intent to make crystal clear in the language that type of discrimination is not allowed. >> reporter: those changes could be made within days but they may not come fast enough for the four teams heading here for the final four college basketball tournament this weekend. >> clock is ticking. >> reporter: the players trying to focus on the game as they prepare to walk into this political firestorm. >> just misses. >> i'm anxiously awaiting whatever clarification that the legislature can bring forward to this. >> reporter: the ncaa calling it completely insistent with its values. >> we expressed our displeasure with it and, frankly, i was really surprised that it passed. >> reporter: abc news reaching out to the four teams, msu's president telling us "we hope the citizens and lawmakers of indiana can reach a consensus on how to best welcome all people." this morning at least eight

other states are considering similar laws but given what's happening here they may face some early opposition george. >> okay gio, thanks very much. to that deadly shooting at the national security agency where two men dressed as women stormed the gates and investigators are saying this was not an okay stated attack but wrong turn that turned tragic. abc's jim avila has the story. >> reporter: it had the look even the feel of a terrorist attack on perhaps the world's most secure facility the national security agency at ft. meade, maryland. america's very secretive spy agency. two men speeding towards the main gate of the nsa ignoring orders to stop and wearing women's clothes and wigs. nsa security immediately raised barricades to stop the dark green ford escape suv. that's when police and the patrol truck opened fire killing the driver instantly and gravely injuring the passenger identified as 20-year-old kevin

fleming of baltimore. he had a criminal record. paramedics can be heard in the police scanner working feverishly to save him. >> there's cpr in progress with one. >> reporter: when the dust settles police and fbi discover the men were not in disguise for an attack on the nsa but were wearing women's clothes after a long night of partying. police now believe the two merely made a wrong turn in a stolen car ending a wild night at the wrong place. so it could have been just panic and confusion when confronted by police after all, they were driving that stolen car or it could have been just an epic wrong turn. robin. >> all right, jim, thank you. now to the boston marathon bombing trial. prosecutors wrapped up its case monday with heartbreaking testimony that left some jurors in tears. the defense now laying out its side and abc's tom llamas has been in the courtroom for all of it. good morning, tom. >> reporter: robin, good morning to you. the defense wasted no time trying to prove tamerlan the

older brother, not only directed the attack he also provided logistics and, you're right, robin, it was likely a very long night for jurors who had to sit through hours of painful testimony with graphic images showing how dzhokhar's bomb killed a little boy. one of the biggest pieces focused on the smallest of victims, 8-year-old martin richard. half a dozen jurors wiping away tear the testimony and photos showing not a single piece of the boy's body spared from shrapnel burns or injury. agonizing evidence as the government rested its case in the boston marathon bombing trial on monday. prosecutors also showing this haunting photo, that's the richard family watching the marathon two years ago. martin by the fence, mom to the left with the brown hat and the big smile. but look closely. lurking in the background behind the tree in that white hat, dzhokhar tsarnaev. >> the prosecution has brought the jury to the scene of that

awful incident. all of which is pretty powerful stuff to show that he was, indeed a terrorist. >> reporter: but the defense now has its chance to try calling their first witnesses monday. they're looking to prove dzhokhar was a puppet controlled by his older brother tamerlan. the jury seeing that cell phone and gps record suggests he wasn't there when tamerlan bought and later built the pressure cooker bombs. and this video, showing tamerlan leading the way down boylston street the defense hoping the jury takes pity on the little brother they say tagged along. >> i think he's guilty. >> reporter: the bomb dzhokhar planted took heather abbott's leg. it's unclear if dzhokhar will testify but from what heather has seen in court it's not sorrow he's been expressing. >> i was somewhat surprised at his demeanor in court. i would have thought that he would have some sort of reaction. i really can't understand how a person like that thinks. >> reporter: and so far the defense has called no character witnesses, only an fbi photographer and a forensic

investigator. yesterday i asked one of dzhokhar's lawyers if he will take the stand. she had no comment. robin. >> we'll wait and see. tom, thank you. time for amy and today's other top stories starting with a massive power outage. >> authorities are calling this a very unusual situation. a blackout spread across turkey this morning creating chaos, canceling flights and leaving more than 40 cities in the dark. that's about three-quarters of the country. turkey's energy minister says a cyberattack cannot be ruled out as a cause but all possible causes are being investigated. and new details overnight about the german plane crash in the alps. prosecutors say co-pilot andreas lubitz has been treated for suicidal tendencies but germany's strict privacy laws may have helped him hide it from his employer. as the recovery effort continues a new road has been built for better access to the crash site and lufthansa has announced $300 million in insurance money for the crash response and compensation payments. only a few hours remain in the search for a nuclear deal

with iran. ha deadline is midnight and many sticking points remain. but a new poll shows a majority of americans want a deal. abc's terry moran is at the talks in switzerland with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: negotiators got stuck for a couple of days but this morning word of a kind of a breakthrough. secretary kerry and others will come out and announce the very vague broad outlines of a deal and say that all the tough details this he'll negotiate over the coming months. that's likely to infuriate critics of these negotiations but our new abc news poll shows americans 2-1, 59/31 support the basic concept here. lift sanctions on iran in exchange for limits on iran's nuclear programs but americans aren't pollyannas about this 59% aren't confident it will work. it seeps they just prefer this to war. amy. >> all right, terry, thanks so much. and dramatic video this morning from the most intense fighting in yemen since saudi arabia and its allies launched

>> thank you. >> small pleasures. all right. thank you. it's early. now to the latest on that california woman who claimed she was kidnapped. the police say it was all a hoax but this morning the woman's attorney is telling us what's in an e-mail he says was sent by the alleged kidnappers. abc's mara schiavocampo is here with the latest on all this. >> reporter: good morning, very unusual story here. the attorney is maintaining that the woman was abducted and drugged and now saying that the kidnappers have even written a letter describing in detail how and why they did it. police claimed her mysterious disappearance was nothing but a hoax drawing comparisons to "gone girl." >> my wife amy elliott dunne disappeared three days ago. >> reporter: but this morning denise huskins' attorney says he has proof his client isn't a liar but a victim and that her kidnappers are still on the loose. >> i have come to receive a 15-page single-spaced e-mail

from the kidnappers. >> reporter: speaking with abc news overnight, douglas rappaport described a stunning manifesto that the alleged kidnappers e-mailed to "the san francisco chronicle" after she turned up safe two days after her boyfriend, aaron quinn, reported she was abducted from his vallejo, california home. >> they talked very extensively about how they prepared for it what weapons to use. >> reporter: rappaport wouldn't tell us how he got the e-mail or show us its contents but abc news was able to see it from another source. in it the group compares themselves to the crew from "ocean's eleven." >> this town your luck can change that quickly. >> reporter: cowing themselves college educated career criminals who say they only nabbed huskins as a dry run so they could kidnap higher profile victims in the future. in fact they say huskins wasn't even their intended target. >> they felt terribly when they

discovered that it was her, but yet since this was a training mission, they decided to carry it out regardless. >> reporter: according to the e-mail they eventually felt so badly they simply let her go dropping her off in her hometown of huntington beach where they thought she'd be safe. the group won't i.d. itself but says it feels the need to defend denise and her boyfriend against police's claims last week. >> mr. quinn and miss huskins has plundered valuable resources away from our community. >> reporter: authorities haven't spoken out about the case since and, of course it's still not clear who the mysterious e-mail came from. now, the san francisco chronicle is reporting they received another letter from the alleged kidnappers yesterday. that one allegedly making threats against police if they don't apologize to huskins by this afternoon. a lot of really unusual twists in this story. >> kidnappers who are sympathetic toward the person that they allegedly -- okay.

>> apparently they don't like people being falsely accused. >> strange one. thank you, mara. robin's face says it all. >> we're going to move on to that legal battle over the estate of robin williams that pits his widow and children against each other. both sides in court monday and linsey davis is tracking the case. >> reporter: both sides agree for very different reasons this is not playing out as williams intended. prior to his death williams set up a trust agreement but an attorney for his wife says it's a bit ambiguous when it comes to things like memorabilia so took it to court seeking clarity. this morning 1200 items which all belonged to the late robin williams are in the middle of a contentious family feud. lawyers for williams' third wife susan schneider williams squaring off. >> we're trying to honor his wishes that his wife can tay in the home and not have the home

stripped of the normal things in a home. >> reporter: schneider williams saying these not seeking any entertainment memorabilia like the suspenders that he wore on "mork and mindy" but instead much of williams' personal property from the couple's home in tiburon, california and elsewhere. >> the art on the walls, the furniture, her wedding presents. those are the things that stay. the other things such as the academy award statue and other items, they clearly go to the kids as mr. williams wanted. >> reporter: but schneider williams says she's entitled to what she calls her late husband's collection of knickknacks. williams' church disagree saying their father intended for them to receive his various collection of bicycles watches and sports memorabilia. >> his intention was to not have this in the courts. as an intensely private person he wouldn't have wanted this. >> reporter: overnight his daughter zelda speaking out posting on tumbler despite what

some media reported "my brothers and i have not at any point since dad's death been invited or visited his and susan's house in tiburon nour have we removed anything from it". the trustees tell abc news they have not removed anything from that home either. attorneys for williams' wife and children now say they'll try to settle this out of court but if both sighs cannot come to an agreement, williams' wife's attorney says a judge may have to decide but an attorney for the estate's trustees say the court does not have jurisdiction over the matter so george there's even a dispute about how they may settle the dispute. >> let's hope they can sit around the table and get it done. the weather now from >> live shot from dallas texas. just a little bit earlier temperatures were in the 60's but that's a familiar sight. you go to the love that, big d. 82 once that sun comes up and warmings things so that is a little bit above average. you'll take it. speaking of above average. death valley 103. that's an all time record for

two teenage girls rude in a movie theater. one of the moms found out and went on to facebook and apologized to the other mom. we set up a meeting between the two and raised a lot of questions about how you should discipline your kids had they act out in public. we'll talk about that in a little bit but first let's get news from amy and, boy, this manhunt in virginia is a little scary. >> it continues to break hour by hour. this is all happening in northern virginia about ten miles from d.c. dramatic developments as police search for the escaped convict named woosen assaye believed to be armed and dangerous. he was believed to be driving a stolen toyota camry with front end damage and abc's david kerley is joining us live hearing about a dramatic chase but that was unrelated to this manhunt, correct? >> reporter: correct. so at this point, amy, this man is still on the loose. it's a bizarre story. he is charged with a string of bank robberies and apparently tried to harm him 168 taken to the hospital. private security guard is guarding him.

always easy. >> it's not always easy but, you know it is what it is you know. you know in life things come our way we can't control. believe me i'll milk it when it comes to doing chores at home but even my wife will say the garbage isn't going to walk itself out there so i tell people with the disease or any kind of malady life is as john kennedy said once is unfair but you just have to deal. >> what are the special challenges trying to do live television when you're deing with ms? >> i think my purchases could tell you they'll know something is wrong when i can't see or having trouble looking at the prompter. now, you don't need prompter but those days that i do i try to prememorize the script or try to remember the guests. sometimes it's very difficult to see the person right in front of me. it just depends on the day. it's a disease that manifests itself >> that's the thing. so many who struggle with ms have to be in such tune with their bodies so they can feel the signs coming on.

>> i think that's what's it. i think -- i had cancer prior to this and as awful as that was, george there was an end game with the chemotherapy and radiation succeeding but with ms it's not so easy and as it progresses and mine is progressing, you never know how it will hit. i think the biggest adjustment i had when i first got diagnosed was understanding a limb that would go out and compensating with the other limb an eye that goes out, compensate with the other. both eyes go out, just feel words. i think it gets bizarre but you read your body after a while and you realize that hey, look we can do this. >> i know -- i remember robin talking to ann romney who, of course is dealing with ms as well and how she handled it during the campaign and you teamed up with her in her ann romney neurological center. >> she asked when she was coming up with this idea and i wanted to run it by the higher-ups at fox but to host with a lot of

neurological ailments like parkinson's, lou gehrig's disease, multiple sclerosis and she was trying to find a common theme for this but it's a board that is as bipartisan as you can get. chelsea clinton and her husband are on it. former congressman kennedy in massachusetts and i like the fact that it's bipartisan in that you know a disease like this doesn't recognize either your politics or your wealth or your status it hits everybody. >> that's an important message. i know you'll help a lot of people. neil cavuto thanks for comeing on. matcha tea, a lot of

little bit. >> you do not skimp on flavor. that's one thing you don't do so tell us what you're cooking here today. >> this is very hot. this is called raspberry chicken and this is one of those things that is -- which you tart with breaded chicken. i salt and pepper each side which i'll pretend i did but you don't have to even -- you can skip this step -- i've tried it when trying to drop a few pounds i don't even bread it. just sear the chicken. >> but still the skinless like that is a real go-to protein. >> i do use a lot of chicken and i like -- i love chicken which is good and i really do love it simply prepared. i like it -- i do an unfried chicken that i bake in the oven. >> i've seen that. >> so that's the simple part of that and then once you've seared the chicken your pot is going to look like this then you're basically just kind of making a really light gravy basically that goes in it and i use a shallot which is a fancy word for onion. >> exactly. >> garlic.

>> you're so fancy. >> of course a little garlic. this is white wine vinegar. >> mm-mm. >> and some chicken stock. you could use vegetable tock if you prefer. >> yum. >> and crimini mushrooms, as well i like to use and add your chicken back in there. >> put the chicken back in with all had. >> uh-huh. >> and cover it up and let it cook for ten minute. >> that's it? >> that lets the sauce reduce a little bit. >> oh i know amy was going to go right for it. >> hi guy. >> already over here. >> ten minutes. when you're done this is what it looks like then to add it to finish it off you add a little bit of lemon zest. >> so good. >> you can add a little butter. you don't have to add the butter. you can leave it out but butter adds flavor. a little bit of balsamic vinegar which adds flavor. >> it does. >> and raspberries, a little sweet in with the savory. >> do they have to be fresh. >> frozen works great. fresh sometimes don't look so

on i-78 in greenwich. early word is that there are serious injury here, a least one person has been killed. the berks county coroner is still there on the scene. let's head over to karen rogers. she's got details with traffic. good morning. >> we have so many traffic issues with this. first it's shut down. so westbound i-78 shut down at this point in berks county at new smithville. take 222 southbound but look at all these vehicles and a lot of trucks right here that have been stuck in the backup while they do the accident investigation. so, they're kind of unable to move just standing here still on i-78 westbound and you can see how that delay just grows and all of that stuck traffic as they're not allowing anyone. there was it's blocked currently at new smithville with this fatal accident scene. let's go outside and take a look at 202 exton chester county 202 at the 30 bypass northbound jammed from 30 to 29, no accidents but a slow go tam. >> thank you karen. david you say it's clear now but by the time you come home this afternoon you'll be dealing with rain.
