house fire. >> we came outside and there was clouds of black smoke. >> reporter: flames shot out of the home at union avenue and stowe road as dozens of firefighters battle the the inferno. >> i smelled it was so strong i thought it was in my home. >> reporter: investigators say the fire sparked in the yard of the home around 3:30 p.m. the fire station was a block away but the strong winds carried the flames to the house. >> compromises our hellos stream, you saw early on some of the exterior hose lines were fighting the wind along with the fire itself. >> reporter: the family who lives here was away, but uninjured, they will make it made it back for a moment they will never forget. unlike this time this house

survived another fire in 2006. the home belongs to the mother of a firefighter who lives across the street he is battling stage four stomach carnals and lost his father to cancer two years ago. we were there always the community held a benefit for the son in november. neighbors say people will step up for the purpose of the family again. >> i know for sure, everybody will come together to put efforts fort helping them. >> reporter: the family chihuahua so far fee was inside and -- sophie was inside and didn't make it. the fire marshal is investigating the cause. reporting in pennsauken, kenneth moten channel 6 "action news." >> a go fund me page has been set up to help with the donations for the family. it's at 6abc.com. hundreds of dollars poured into the family in the hours following the blaze but the

family needs all the help they can get. new overnight, "action news" was there as motorcycle went 30 feet from a ravine in montgomery county. the biker was thrown from the biker and seriously injured. he was trying to getaway from a traffic symptom on the boulevard. he led them on to the expressway and the blue route. the crash happened apt west germantown pike and chemical road. now to exclusive video you will only see on "action news," a street race takes a tragic turn when a teenage boy is critically hurt in an atv crash. moments after impact bystanders rushed to the boy's side trying to save his life. this exclusive cell phone video captured the scene at 58th and cobbs creek parkway.

the two boys were racing another set of team. they tried to get around a truck when it clipped the second atv and flipped. members of a nearby church saw the scene and ran out to help. two people happened to be trauma nurses. they started cpr. officials have not named the teens involved. darby borough police officer mark hudson has been laid to rest. he dedicated his life to service and died allegedly at the hands of his girlfriend. >> reporter: it was a send off for a man who dedicate his life to helping other people. saturday at saint joseph's church in collingsdale family friends and community came to honor him. >> we lost a great person, he was a good guy. >> reporter: hudson was fatally

wounded last saturday inside his home while off duty. authorities say he was trying to break up with his girlfriend. she allegedly shot and killed him. finch faces charges including first and third degree murder. officer mark hudson was the ultimate public service. he died as a darby police officer and started his career as firefighter in yeadon. >> i think legacy of community. legacy of giving back. >> reporter: the chief of yeadon's fire department and darby borough police took to the podium to share their memories. >> he was what a paroleman and a firefighter should be, confident, courageous and tenacious, tough brave and how he loved people. >> reporter: and hudson's family requesting for him amazing
