as walking across the street headed for the garage there where her car was parked. she was headed for home. but instead three men in a van abducted her. surveillance video from inside that garage shows a van fitting the description of the abductor's vehicle including some sort of graffiti like markings arrives at 107 on the system's clock. at 3:46 those who know the victim say that's her saying goodbye to her boss. she walks down the ramp to her car. at 3:51 the burgundy, red older model ford van roars up the ramp. police say inside the van masked men start beating kicking and using a stun gun on the 53-year-old victim in an effort to get a code to open the safe at national watch and diamonds. unable to get that the trio dumped the shackled victim later at this delaware county cemetery after they robbed her of her personal items and used her atm card. the victim a long time employee of the store is known to many in this close knit business district. >> she's a sweetheart.

she doesn't bother nobody out here. she just comes to work to support her family. >> nicest soul i've ever known. friendly very knowledgeable about the jewelry and items that i bought and sold. >> reporter: today police met with robert green stein the owner of the store and then spread out looking for additional evidence and video. given the high value items sold in shops in this area, there is always concern someone could be targeted. what occurred this weekend a reminder watch can go -- of what can go wrong. >> home invasions i take a different path home every day. i try to only park my car in open air parking lots and stuff like that. you know, sort of have like a buddy system where you don't walk by yourself to your car. >> reporter: so being followed an occupational hazard here. some think the thieves and the abducts may have been watching the victim for sometime maybe several weeks. one of the things police are doing is looking at older video feeds and hope they see something that might give them

some evidence of that. the owner of the store put out a statement saying they're grateful a member of our family has been returned to us and pray for her speedy recovery. the victim has discharged from the hospital and will be recovering at home. live in center city, john rawlins, channel6 "action news." >> thank you john. a wreck involving a tractor-trailer has lanes closed on the new jersey turnpike right now. chopper 6hd was over the crash in hamilton township. you can see the tractor-trailer crossed the center median and left a mess on both sides of the road. the driver went to the hospital but is expected to be okay. matt pelman will have an update on traffic in the area coming up in just a few minutes. >> time now for a check of the accuweather forecast and what's been a simply stunning day. in fact as far as the temperature goes the nicest day of the year so far. >> definitely our pick. the action cam was in washington square today where we found people out walking dogs. they were doing all kinds of stuff out there. adam joseph joining us right now with just a beautiful day. >> yeah, i don't blame anyone

for being outdoors. i know what's coming for the rest of the week. i was doing yard work this entire day. it was the best day of the year so far. take a look. in philadelphia 74 degrees so far today. the first 70 plus day of 2015s the last time it was equally as warm last year on november 24th. but not everyone is seeing the 70's. notice the shore communities with a wind coming in off of the water from the south the session only 45 so all of the shore towns are only in the low and the mid-50's right now but everyone inland about 10 miles from the shore basking in the 70's even the lehigh valley right now at 72 degrees. but look at all of the cold air up in new england. boston right now 41. burlington 34. bangor some snow showers of 33 degrees. there was a front to our north and that front will be slowly pushing in from the north to the south this week, so what is ahead in that accuweather forecast? well, no sun the next three days.

day so far this year, the sun is shining brightly over citizens bank park and everyone's excited to see the return of baseball to south philadelphia. >> i just love baseball so i just like coming back here every year. >> reporter: outside fans took part in the pregame festivities. they put up with longer than normal lines to get into the ballpark because of new metal detectors at the gates. then inside they soaked up the sights and sounds and smells of hot dogs and crab fries and the first sightings of some of their favorite players as they came on the field. >> to see ben fifty revere and shane victorino. >> reporter: those are your two favorites. >> yeah. >> warm, nice day, baseball doesn't get any better. >> let's go phillies, without a doubt one two three strike them out. >> reporter: they've heard the predictions, they know the phillies may not be the greatest team in major league baseball this year but they're here today to show their support, wear those germs sees once again and cheer other phillies for yet another

season. >> i think that it's a building year but i'm a loyal fan so i'm going say we're going to go all the way. world series here we come. >> reporter: well, i guess it's possible. but isn't that just the thing about opening day anything today is possible. live in south philadelphia, i'm sarah bloomquist, channel6 "action news." >> and that was the perfect example of that. okay thank you sarah. police have identified the basketball coach accused of firing a gun at a southwest philadelphia rec center. they issued an arrest warrant for 26-year-old maurice tavarez also known as maurice robinson. investigators say he fired one shot during a fight way fan and a coach of the other team at saturday's game. it happened inside the christie rec center on this south 56th street. no one was hurt. anyone who could locate him should call philadelphia police. >> police have identified the 18-year-old who died in a triple shooting in camden county.

tymer ebright was killed and two other teenaged girls were wounded in the gunfire. it happened outside a party late last night in haddon township. police found the victim in the parking lot on crescent boulevard. bright was hit multiple times and died early this morning at the hospital. a 17-year-old girl was shot once and she is in stable condition. one bullet grazed the 16-year-old girl in the head. she's already been treated and released. detectives now working to identify the suspects. >> at this point we don't know whether it was multiple shooters or not or if there was one individual shooter. looks like based on who we talked to there were no problems or altercations prior to the shooting. we don't know what prompted the shooting. >> police are asking for witnesses to please come forward. they're also asking for any possible cell phone video of the shooting to help them crack this case, brian. >> all right, alicia thank you. we are still working to learn the name of a woman who was found dead today in southwest philadelphia. police say they found the body of a 36-year-old woman. she was inside a home on the

5400 block of willows avenue. police have not yet said how she died but they say they do consider this case suspicious. >> one person went to the hospital today after a crash that tied up traffic on the schuylkill expressway for hours. chopper 6hd was over the scene this morning in upper merion. a tractor-trailer overturned between gulph road and route 202 just before 8 o'clock this morning. one person went to presbyterian hospital but is expected to be okay. traffic is back to normal in the area right now. >> and speaking of traffic let's get an update from the "action news" traffic center. >> let's go live to matt pelman in the traffic center. hi matt. >> hi, guys. it might be back to normal there in king suburbs on the schuylkill but elsewhere on the schuylkill very busy conditions on this nice monday afternoon. this is a live shot of midatlantic drive. heavy traffic in both directions here in the off-ramp to montgomery. there's a broken down truck on the shoulder. the bigger issue is the heavy traffic. 36 minutes to get from the vine through this points out

to the blue route. ideally should be a 14 minute ride. and not so far off in east falls if you're trying to get from the outbound kelly drive to the southbound side of city avenue you're not getting through this afternoon. that ramp shut down because of an overturned trash truck. so, quite the mess. again it's the ramp from the outbound side of kelly drive and if you're coming away from ridge avenue to try and get to southbound one the city avenue bridge, you can't get by at this point. i'd use the falls bridge for my trip in this afternoon over the schuylkill river. robbinsville still have that overturned truck giving us restrictions in both directions along the new jersey turnpike. the scene is south of 7a for 195. northbound where it happened the left lane is blocked. southbound they've got the two left lanes blocked in the inner drive as they clean up. we also have a crash in voorhees along 73 northbound approaching dutch town road. some issues with the overhead wires on septa's norristown regional rail line. let's grab the ipad do the commuter report on this busy monday opening day beautiful

nuclear fuel and limit its ability to make highly enriched uranium. in exchange iran gets relief from economic sanctions that have crippled that nation. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu called the deal dangerous. a senate committee is expected to consider a bill that would give congress the final review on any deal with iran. the white house slammed that idea today. >> the responsibilities of the president of the united states any president of the united states to conduct the foreign poll policy of the united states of america, that there is a concerted effort in congress to undermine the negotiations or under mine the successful implementation of the agreement. >> president obama has vowed to veto bill. the deadline to complete the deal with iran is june 30th. >> attorneys for aaron hernandez spent less than one day putting on a defense in his murder trial. they rested their case today after calling just three witnesses to counter two months of testimony by the prosecution. the former new england patriot plead not guilty in the deadly

shooting of oden lloyd. he was dating the sister of hernandez's fiancé. closing arguments will be delivered tomorrow or on wednesday. >> there are 80 of the philadelphia police department's newest recruits and today they filled the seats at the national constitution center for a brand new training program. it's called policing in a more perfect union and police commissioner charles ramsey says the goal here is to help new officers understand history to do a better job building trust and community relations in the future. now in light of recent tensions and police involved shootings, ramsey says he wants the youngest and brightest in blue to understand their role better. he rolled out a similar program in washington d.c. in the 90's and believes this is the perfect time for this kind of training in philadelphia. >> it is also important they understand the history of policing and why there is such tension in some communities versus others because when you look back in history police have not always stood on the right side of justice as we see justice today.

>> also part of the program teens as you see there met with the recruits to share their police experiences and perceptions of police officers in their communities. this is the first class that will be going through this program and by the end of the year ramsey hopes that current officers can also participate the philadelphia police foundation is funding this initiative and again the very first 80 recruits to go through this training program did so today at a very perfect place the national constitution center. >> a light of hope riding thon program. thank you. the catholic diocese of harrisburg says it will be busing people to philadelphia for pope francis' visit in september. the diocese says it will sell bus tickets to parishoners starting tomorrow but they're limiting people to four tickets per family. other parishes across the state are also offering travel packages for the week of september 23rd that is of course when pope francis will be in town for the world meeting of families. >> president obama kicked off the annual white house easter

county from coatesville to kennett square between 72 and 73 degrees and interior southern new jersey we're looking at 72 for the most part anywhere from bridgeton vineland even in delaware in the 70's but with that wind can coming in off of the water from the south, we are cutting those numbers way back, very typical this time of year in the spring at the shore with that ocean so cold it throws that cool wind in and it's only in the 50's from sea isle city up through long beach island. up towards boston and northern parts of new england there is a front right here. it is cold enough, they're dealing with snow showers right now from ottawa burlington all the way east to bangor, maine. we are in the sun but notice to the west clouds are building even some showers are beginning to break out near eerie pennsylvania, so overnight the clouds will thicken up and by tomorrow morning some scattered showers around for that morning rush with temperatures still mild with that southerly wind into the 50's, even 60's in southern areas and another mild afternoon tomorrow, near

70 in philadelphia or better than that in parts of delaware even the lehigh valley 63 degrees but you can see a lot of scattered showers, even a few downpours tomorrow afternoon. that continues into tomorrow night and by wednesday morning, winds will switch out of the northeast. then we are looking at those temperatures dropping into the 40's by wednesday morning and still a chance for some of those scattered showers. so, as we look at the percentages of rain when you take a look at a washout compared to scattered showers, the best chance for more in the way of showers will be on tuesday, a 90 percent chance and then wednesday, thursday we put it down to 70 but again, it's going to be a damp day both wednesday and thursday with those scattered showers on and off. we're looking at lows tonight in the upper 40's for the lehigh valley, 50's elsewhere as the showers come in after midnight. and your four day at 4:00 you may want to close your eyes here. 69 degrees mild with a few showers tomorrow. highs only in the 40's here wednesday and thursday. raw, damp, chilly days and on

rally today despite friday's bad jobs report. the dow jones closing un117 points nasdaq picking up 30 and the s & p about 14 points on the day. to other business news, wall street's rank and file employees are taking home more money and ceo salaries are starting to decline. that's according to a report in the wall street journal. but the gas is still incredibly wide. ceo's made an average of 18 and a half million dollars last year, that's 124 times what the average worker is bringing home. despite the difference that's still down 55 percent from a decade ago. when the apple watch finally hit stores you can expect a big change from past gadgets. that's because apple says you will not be allowed to line up outside stores. you have to make an appointment for a fitting. then apple can ship it to you for free or you can go back to the store to pick it up. the company says preorders start at 12:01 pacific time

>> ♪♪ >> police in south jersey are looking for a couple accused of using a baby stroller to steal from local businesses. this is a surveillance picture from inside dick's sporting goods on nixon drive in mount laurel. it was taken around 8 o'clock the night of march 31. police say that is edward and nicole hatch there. they're accused of cutting the security locks on a rack of baseball bats then stuffing those bats inside their baby's stroller and taking off. police say the same couple also stole from the fun plex on route 38. there are now several warrants out for their arrest. >> a maryland man has been indicted for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend inside a subway restaurant in new jersey. 48-year-old hun choi is facing

a list of charges including attempted murder. police say he attacked his ex inside the subway on sunny vertebrae boulevard in hamilton in december. he ended up turning himself in two hours later on the new jersey turnpike. he's in jail on $750,000 bail while he waits for his trial. >> and still ahead here at 4 o'clock today police catch the easter bunny bringing more than mean one -- candy into one oklahoma home. >> chaos breaks out during an attempt to break a world record. how several pushy parents ruined an egg hunt in california. >> opening day in major league baseball. that means new rules, new security measures and new food. we'll run down some of the most delicious and perhaps disturbing items you could find at your ballpark coming up.

onesy was spotted and why you will not see it any more. >> we begin with the end to a dark chapter for boston. nearly two years after a homemade explosive killed three and injured hundreds the high profile and highly emotional trial of the alleged marathon murderer are drawing to a close. dzhokhar tsarnaev is found guilty the same jury will decide if he lives or dies. alicia vitarelli is live at the big board with more on the five week trial that has been both gripping and graphic al here shah. >> shirleen that jury has been told to keep an open mind and focus on the facts. even though some of them have been taking notes in between tears. the final images and words left with the jury graphic and heart wrenching. during today's closing arguments the prosecution replayed videos and showed pictures of the boston marathon bombings and the bloody aftermath. pointing at defendant dzhokhar tsarnaev saying he and his brother tamerlan considered

themselves to be soldiers and they were bringing their battle to boston. also focusing on the anti-american words the 21-year-old defendant reported ly scrawled on the inside of a boat before he was captured "stop killing our people and we will stop" countering the defense's claim that he was under his brother's influence. >> defense shows the picture of dzhokhar following tamerlan through those pictures showing that he was just a follower. >> reporter: the defense team led by attorney judy clark who successfully fought to keep past clients including union any bomber ted kaczynski off death row is hoping to spare the life of tsarnaev. the defense telling the mostly female jury tsarnaev's role was different from his brother's but adding "there is no excuse. no one is trying to make one. planting bombs at the boston marathon was a senseless act "and the defense told the jury

tsarnaev is ready to be held responsible for his actions making a guilty verdict a near certainty after a decision is made jurors will hear evidence on whether he should get life in prison or a death sentence. shirleen. >> all right alicia. abc's tom yomas will be live in boston with continuing coverage of the boston marathon bombing trial. that is coming up on world news tonight with david muir right after "action news" at 6:00. >> well, today marked the end of philadelphia's official mourning period for fallen officer robert wilson, iii. mayor michael nutter was joined by wilson's family friends and many fellow officers at city hall this morning where he delivered remarks honoring wilson's sacrifice and heroism. the officer who is posthumously promoted to sergeant was shot and killed back on march fifth when he came upon a robbery in progress in north philadelphia >> sergeant wilson saved the lives of six seven, eight

people in that store that day. and unfortunately gave his life in the protection of others. >> a somber and emotional mayor michael nutter and commissioner charms ramsey presented a city flag to wilson's family including to the two sons he left behind. the trenton fire department also paused to honor firefighters killed in there line of duty. the department has had 23 deaths since 1896. family and friends of the victims were there including the loved ones of manny riff vare who died in a 2009 fire. trenton mayor delivered opening remarks dan all of the fallen firefighters names were read throughout the ceremony right there at city hall. >> it is time now for your accuweather forecast and more on the sunny skies that won't be sticking around for long. >> i know, the rest of the week kind of gloomy, dismal, miserable, so if you hear

those words get out there now if you can and enjoy it. >> 4:59. >> 4:59 then you can enjoy the evening. take a look right now live on sky six over center city. a beautiful day just some high clouds out there. 74 degrees, winds ouster south-southwest at 21 miles an hour and in atlantic city, we got a lot of sun there. you see the camera bouncing around with that southerly wind. however the air temperature only 55 in atlantic city. and it's all because of the ocean which right now is only in the mid 40's. in fact, everyone has those southerly winds but it's doing one thing inland with those warm temperatures and another at the shore with those winds between 16 and 17 keeping numbers a good almost 20 degrees cooler at the shore compared to the lehigh valley and philadelphia. we'll talk about those chilly wet changes coming in. we'll let you know when that full sun returns again in the seven day. >> sounds good. >> thank you. >> as adam mentioned we better get out there and enjoy today.

days, yesterday for the easter holiday spilling into today. >> yeah. >> speaking of spilling we'll be soaked here as we see a lot of rain for the rest of the week. as we take a look at the action cam a beautiful afternoon to be out and about. the action cam on the boards in ocean city and a lonely bike, a the least it's locked up here. someone taking a stroll but if you were at the shore today it was mighty chilly. as you look at double scan live radar with that sunshine not shining any separation whatsoever but double scan live radar will be on the job as it is every day but a little busy tuesday wednesday, thursday and friday. as we look at the temperatures, spring has finally sprung. saturday it was a little cool at 58 degrees but we jump closer to if not above normal for easter sunday of 64 and then add the 10 degrees, so far today, 74 with the normal being 60 degrees. so we've gone from below to above in a matter of a few days. right now with that southerly wind inland locates all in the

lower 70's. right now but again right at the shore that wind is coming off the atlantic which is only 46 degrees so right now air temperatures are only around 54. clouds are building to the west as we're watching a frontal boundary which is to our north and ripples of energy to the west. you see some showers breaking out in the western pennsylvania. the clouds come first the showers will follow after midnight tonight and high pressure to the north will basically stall this front and this front is not going to lift to the north. in fact this high eventually is going to push the system to the south but areas of low pressure will develop along this boundary. another mild day tomorrow. what with scattered showers and 69 degrees as that high wedges to our north and east the low and the front will sink to the south here on wednesday, so the winds around the high will send in a cool raw northeasterly wind, highs only 47 on wednesday with on and off showers continuing with that front nearby. so, for tonight it does turn cloudy. late showers are going to develop before the morning rush tomorrow. overnight lows 49 to
