when she was jumped -- well, three men jumped out of a burgundy van and abducted her. a surveillance camera in the garage picked up an image of what is thought to be the abductor's van complete with graffiti like markings. two hours later those who know her say it appears the victim is seen bidding goodbye to her boss. she walks down the ramp toward her car where she is grabbed. minutes after that, the burgundy older model ford van roars up the ramp. police say inside masked men will beat kick and use a stun gun on the 53-year-old victim in an effort to get a code to open safes at her work national watch and diamond. unable to get that the trio dumped the bound victim at this delaware county cemetery only to return and abductor her again rob her of her personal items and use her atm card before dumping her a second time. the victim a long time employee of the store is known by many in this close knit business district. >> when i found out that it was her, it was heartbreaking

and to hear that dramatic experience that she experienced and then talking to somebody who saw her in the hospital today it's just gut wrenching. >> reporter: this morning police met with the owner of the store and fanned out looking for additional video and evidence. shops here are full of glittering high value items. saturday's crime a reminder being targeted an occupational adds sard in this business. >> i watch behind my back all the time when i walk to my parking lot to my car. it is what it is. it's a chance we have to take. >> reporter: well, we heard variations of that from many people here on jewelers' row today. not only are they vigilant they're also very careful they don't park in the same spots consistently, also taking different routes to and from work. as for the victim in this case according to her boss she has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home. live in center city, john rawlins channel6 "action

news." jim. >> thank you, john. police have identified the 18-year-old killed in a triple shooting late last night tyimer bright was killed in a shooting outside the rooftop lounge in haddon township. he died hours later at the hospital. two teen girls were also wounded in the gunfire. a 17-year-old girl is in stable condition. a 16-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the head. she has been treated and released. detectives are working to identify the suspects. a rec league basketball coach who allegedly fired a gun during a basketball game on saturday turned himself in to police late this afternoon. "action news" reporter kenneth moton has that story tonight. >> reporter: with his girlfriend and his lawyer by his side 26-year-old youth basketball coach marreese tavares turned himself in to southwest detectives two days after philadelphia police say he fired his weapon in a crowded christie recreation center on south 56th street. tavares can you address anything you want to say to the kids at all.

>> nope. >> reporter: about 70 people mostly teens were in the rec center saturday afternoon playing basketball. investigators say at some point tavares got into an argument with spectators and an opposing coach about the game. it got heated and tavares pulled out his weapon firing once. >> unfortunately he doesn't abide by the rules he should as a coach and creates a conflict lets it go up higher and makes a stupid mistake of pulling out a gun. >> reporter: no one was injured but southwest detectives charged him with aggravated a salt. >> we believe he was directing that shot at the coach. what agitated him at that point is a s wrong behavior. >> he reacted this way because 15 to 20 people were approaching him, some of them had their hands inside their hoodies gesturing as if they had a firearm. others were calling his name, cursing at him. >> reporter: tavares' attorney says his client fired that shot in the air from a gun he was legally carrying and he had it because the chester delaware county man was unfamiliar with the rec

center and just a couple of years ago he was shot in the leg while he was coaching a game in philadelphia. >> well, he's upset. he's scared. but by all accounts from the people we've interviewed, what he did that day was completely within the bounds of the law. >> kenneth moton reporting from southwest philadelphia. tavares is being processed right now. we're told tavares is the father of three small children. he works for a day care. he has no criminal history. a judge has entered an order authorizing the sale of the former revel casino to florida developer glen straub. of course we've been here before. the deal is expected to become final come tomorrow. straub is getting the property for $82 million, which is about four cents on the dollar. the judge's order does not resolve one sticking point the rights of former business tenants to continue their once straub reopens the property in atlantic city.

down, represent the phillies, be here to support our city and everything. >> let's go phillies, good enough without a doubt one two, three, strike them out. >> reporter: they arrived early to take part in the festivities on streets surrounding citizens bank park. >> everything makes it awesome. i mean, i was this stuff here. there's not all this at a regular game. >> reporter: they put up with longer than normal lines to enter now that fans must pass through metal detectors to get in through the gates. so much awaited inside, hot dogs french fries and of course something cold to wash it down while they welcomed the players to the ballpark with applause. >> it's tradition. i've been going to opening day since way back at couldn't mee mack stadium. >> reporter: they've heard the bleak predictions. this is a team rebuilding they say. dam fans were just happy to be here still holding onto hopes for a great season ahead. >> doesn't matter. it's opening day. everybody is in first place. it's baseball. the best game ever. >> reporter: and as you look back live at citizens bank

technical aspects of policing. it's also about our responsibilities in protecting people's constitutional rights, not just enforcing laws. there's also important that they understand the history of policing and why there is such tension in some communities. >> teenagers also met with the recruits to share their experiences and their impressions of police. ramsey not only hopes to have new officers but current officers take part in this program. a philadelphia city council committee is trying to tackle the problem of affordable housing. the panel took testimony from the community today on thousand expand the pool of reasonably priced housing and preserve what's already on the mark. the committee plans other sessions on this hot topic. coming up on "action news" tonight, it sat vacant for 25 years but today an old factory in trenton came down. we'll have details of the project and what is slated to rise in its place coming up. and we will go back to citizens bank park for the highlights and the low lights

sergeant robert wilson, iii. wilson died in a gun battle with two men who tried to hold up a north philadelphia game stop on march fifth with dozens of wilson's colleagues on hand mayor michael nutter said wilson will never be forgotten. >> he is a true american and philadelphia hero. (applause). >> wilson's badges were retired and the department's medal of valor renamed in his honor. mayor michael nutter and economicser ramsey also presented a city flag to wilson's family. wilson left behind two young sons. trenton's fire department today remembered all the colleagues who have given the ultimate sacrifice. ceremonies were held in city hall for 23 firefighters who have died in the line of duty. the list went all the way back from 1896 to the most recent loss manny rivera who died in march 2009. family said it was heart warming to know that their

loved ones are not forgotten. mount laurel police are looking for a couple they say used a baby stroller to steal from local businesses. police say these are the suspects edward and nicole hatch inside dick's sporting goods on nixon drive. the surveillance picture was taken about 8 o'clock on the night of march 31st. police say the pair cut security locks on a rack of baseball bats, then stuffed the bats in their baby's stroller and walked out. police say the same couple also stole from the fun plex on route 38. >> ♪♪ new at 6 o'clock tonight this was a big day a new beginning for a church and its troubled neighborhood in the city of trenton. with that story tonight is new jersey correspondent nora muchanic. >> reporter: it used to be an old paper factory. now after 25 years of sitting vacant it's coming down. making way for a new 30,000 square foot family life center being built by shiloh baptist church in trenton. >> we're committed to this

urban core and redevelopment of this urban core but we have to do more than just worship and pray about it. we have to do some action. >> reporter: named for the late dr. howard woodson a former pastor the family life center on bellevue avenue will be the first step in a project called vision 2020 designed to turn around this troubled area and focus on families and children. >> the center will provide jobs and job training. it will provide parenting skills. >> helping people become connected spiritually emotionally, if thisly. >> and a place, a safe place for the children to come and just enjoy things, playing basketball. >> yeah, it's nothing to do right now. >> reporter: six-year-old lavelle thunderbird likes the idea of a family life center in place of this old factory and so does his mom. >> right now i keep my boys in. i don't let them go to no after school programs or nothing. i don't trust it. >> reporter: shiloh's pastor says vision 2020 isn't just about building a building, it's about nurturing people and reclaiming lives and

>> you want to feel good about opening day but the phillies made that a tough call today. >> jim the ball was flying out of the part. the only problem phillies were on defense when that was happening. all in first place beginning of opening day. phillies sent cole hamels to the mound. hamels isn't always the sharpest early of the season. long ball gets him today. dustin pedroia a solo home

run. the former m.v.p. in these highlights. one-nothing. third inning mookie bets touches hamels for a solo homer to left field. it's two-nothing red sox. fifth inning here's pedroia again. another solo homer off hamels. the phillies fall behind three-nothing. still in the fifth different batter, same results. hanley ramirez. hamels gives up four solo homers in five innings of work. on the flip side the phillies bats can do nothing. even when they hit the ball hard like this shot from hernandez. shane victorino is there to make the grab. ninth inning jake diekman in a major jam bases loaded for hanley ramirez. if it's fair it's gone. it's both. grand slam two homers for ramirez. the phillies lose this game by a final count of eight to nothing. that is certainly something else. plenty more action around the major today include

something games with former phillies. kyle kendrick makes his rockies debut as a colorado rockies visit milwaukee. kendrick gathered seven hits over seven innings walks none and strikes out six. where was that the past eight years. kyle lohse starts for milwaukee, he's a former phillies too and he is rocked. corey dickerson with a two run homer off him in the first inning. then noelle len aranato nails a two run homer in the third. ken trick gets the victory as the rockies top the twins 10 to nothing. new men's ncaa basketball champion will be rounds tonight. duke and wisconsin, two number one seeds will meet in indianapolis. wisconsin is a slight favorite by a point. despite the badgers losing to duke back in december. bo ryan is a local guy born in chester. he understands a victory is tonight is not just about him or his players. >> what i like as a coach is when you win a conference championship and you watch

the weather kind of going downhill around here. as we look at double scan live radar after the sunshine today, you're probably noticing those high clouds coming in from the north and west. and eventually the rain will start to fall late tonight and be on and off right through the end of the week. as we take a look at the action cam everyone itching again to get on that sand. about a month or so from now we'll be talking about the warm temperatures at the shore but notice everyone, yeah, enjoying the sun that choppy water but everyone in long sleeves and sweatshirts at the shore as temperatures there stayed in the 50's because of that really cold sea breeze. as we look at highlights we'll go if feeling like spring today, back to winter by the middle of the week. in fact today's high 75 degrees in philadelphia. the first 70-degree day of the year and the first time we have felt the 70's this last year on november 24th but as we take a look at a somewhat

reality check, if not going backwards here, it is going to feel like the end of february by wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. future tracker showing temperatures only a 42 in allentown, 44 for philadelphia 40's at the shore. so, we're going to drop some 25 to 30 degrees with your high temperatures in a matter of two days. right now it is 69 in quakertown, 70 still in warrington, 70 through much of chester county. all of delaware county. right now fleetwood right now 67 degrees but as we go to the south and east we're looking at upper 60's, anywhere from hammonton to bridgeton 70's in the state of delaware and we're still only in the low to the mid-50's at the shore again 'cause that ocean of just 46 degrees, that wind howled off of the water all afternoon and that's what carved those numbers back. satellite and radar clouds are moving in from the west. you can see showers are moving in pretty quickly as well so we'll start to see those

sprinkles break out after the midnight hour and turn steadier by tomorrow morning's rush hour. overnight turning cloudy, late showers develop but it's another mild night. 49 in allentown, 55 philadelphia, 54 in dover. and those temperatures will stay warm here for one more day on tuesday. 50's in the lehigh valley early in the morning, 60's elsewhere and see some of those showers around and they kind of maneuver here and there throughout your afternoon and evening hours tomorrow. 70's in delaware, 65 in millville, 50's at the shore with the southerly wind but 60's elsewhere before those temperatures really drop midweek and it's all because of high pressure right now in central and eastern canada. it keeps the front to our north tomorrow but waves of energy develop along this boundary and as the high settles a little farther to the south and east on your wednesday, the winds wrap around that high push the system to the south. winds come out of the northeast so it's a damp raw day on wednesday with more waves of energy and rounds of showers with a high only in

the mid 40's. in fact, your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, we'll show a warm day tomorrow but it's cloudy and it's damp with a few showers at any time throughout the day. and the same for wednesday and thursday raw, damp chilly with highs only in the mid 40's area wide but by friday, that system lifts back to the north so we're back in the 70's but it still comes with a lot of clouds on friday a-few peeks of sun and with a cold front late in the day, we'll have a round of downpours even a thunderstorm late friday afternoon and evening and that pulls the temperatures closer to normal and right now everything wipes off the coast in time for the weekend so saturday, sunday 63 65 degrees and equally as nice on monday of 66 degrees. so if you're going to have a dismal week the only thing that will brighten your mood is the look of the weekend. >> thank you adam. >> yeah. >> the catholic diocese of harrisburg says it will bus people to philadelphia for pope francis' visit in september. the diocese says it will sell
