good afternoon rick and sara are off and i'm matt o'donnell, a traffic trouble spot is now clear but it was a tough go for drivers into philadelphia this morning and new information on the assault in the poconos that left a woman with a black eye. but the big story on "action news" is breaking news, one person is dead of four others are injured after an apartment fire in delaware. the flames broke out along the 600 block of capital trail in delaware just over an hour ago at 10:30 this morning, this is video just coming in you see heavy smoke coming from several windows from this apartment building called the possum park apartments one person is dead and several others including firefighters are injured. our david henry is there at the scene and will have a live report coming up late under this broadcast.

weather and deadly tornado across areas in illinois. this makes its way eastward into the afternoon and evening hours in a much weaker fashion future tracker 6 showing you as we go through the afternoon hours, 4:00 in the afternoon you can see spotty showers a lot of that conservation in the southern fip of our viewing area and washington, d.c. and portions of virginia, as far as what we can expect today the storm prediction center at a low chance of finding severe wraernl from atlantic city and wilmington and points to the south right through delaware we could find winds in these locations up to 60 miles per hour. and a chance of finding small hail and that is south of the city across south jerseyth delaware. we'll outline and go through what to expect for the rest of today. tracking areas of fog and visibility is down to a mile and a half in the city and late day sunshine that gets our temperatures close to 70 in the city later today and milder

headlights go flying, we need to go and see if everybody is lrtd. the destruction was really truly terrible today the survivors are trying to salvage what they can and find the pieces of their lives in all of this debris. live in new york, lana zach, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. an overturned tractor trailer caused major problems for the drivers on the ben franklin bridge this morning, the semi tipped over on to its side at 5:00 a.m. snarling traffic heading into philadelphia for the evening rush and the action cam was there as the crews uprighted the truck and hours later the bridge is now clear. a driver lost control along kelly drive at boathouse row and the car ended up on its roof, this happened at 4:30 and the car landed across the road on the jogging path and the driver was able to get out without help. the medics helped the person out at the scene.

police need your help tracking down a gunman that opened fire at a car, at martha street in the port richmond section. the driver honked at someone in the middle of the street who happeneded to be armed and subsequently fired at the driver, no one was hurt. a short time later the suspect was seen making his get away through the grocery store the suspect's name may be william and he has a skull tattoo on his right hand, anybody that knows him is asked to call philadelphia police. from our new jersey newsroom, police need your help finding this man suspected of vandalizing properties around the city, that he sprayed graffiti one week ago including at the trans town station. if you know who this is call burlington county police. philabundance got a big

in busy newark delaware all the fire equipment is there in front of the possum park apartments. firefighters say they met heavy smoke and flames when they arrived on the scene a three story brick apartment building burning and the fire started in the basement and during all of this the woman had to jump out of a third floor apartment on to the ground below she was taken away on a stretcher she was one of two people that was injured a woman that lives on the third floor apartment apparently died in the flames that is apparently where it all started. two firefighters suffered minor injuries out here and we are told that they are okay having been treated for those injuries and still an active scene as fire investigators continue to pop up what happened here, and how the fire got started and some of the fire equipment is pulled out and the fire was under control in a half hour but

fashion, we are tracking the potential of strong showers and storms south of the city, stormtracker 6 live double scan radar, it's still dry and quiet dry in the sense we are not tracking any severe storms yet but a lot of low level moisture and mist and drizzle and cloudy conditions, the action cam was outside earlier today looking down the ben franklin parkway on this friday we have a mostly cloudy skies and visibility is down to a mile and a half at the airport and delays up to 75 minutes at philadelphia international airport and go slow if you are out and about on the roads. 46 in the city and dew point 45 that lets you know the air is quite saturated and we have low level moisture and awaiting the arrival of the frontal boundary that moves in tonight into the evening hours the pressure is

29.91, and the temperatures this afternoon, the upper 40s and lower 50s starting to creep up to the south and' in millville and to the north and west. 46 in land caffer and 45 in allentown and the lehigh valley. we are start to see an increase with the southerly winds as the temperatures climb to the 50s to our south. here is the problem however, a thick layer over head, the visibility is strong down to a mile in allentown and a mile and a half in trenton 5 miles at landcaster lancaster, stormtracker 6 live double scan showing this frontal boundary moving in from a west-east direction. this was responsible for at least one deadly tornado yesterday in illinois. you can see it's moving into a somewhat stable air mass compared to what is out to the

west. future tracker 6 showing you 2:30 in the afternoon patchy clouds and pockets of sunshine and it's approaching from the poconos into lancaster county and mostly cloudy and area locations where you could find pockets of sunshine but for the most part the severe weather threat across south jersey and delaware, that is where the storm prediction center put us in a low chance of finding strong to severe showers and storms the biggest threat is gusty winds and the possibility of small hail, 9:3 this evening the precipitation is wiping off from a northeast direction and high pressure works its way eastward and sunny and breezy and high temperature tomorrow coming in at 64 here is the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, warmer today and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours the best bet is to the south of the city, high of 76 in philadelphia and

closer look at the did have station in illinois where at least two tornadoes touched down hard hit dekalb county found a 67-year-old dead in her home and several others were hurt, the main goal now is to search through the debris and make sure every resident is accounted for, six in all were affected and the devastation is widespread. >> the damage is significant, the houses that are affected are severely affected. they are gone for the most part or uninhabitable. there doesn't appear to be houses with minor damages. governor, bruce rauner will be surveying the damage today. that system is weakening and will bring bad weather here. here is a look at sky 6 hd at philadelphia international airport, melissa magee is here with more on what to expect
