ambulance took her to chester-crozer hospital where she is in serious condition. police in cumberland county investigating a fight ended with two people being shot. one victim died from his wounds. it happened at the intersection of washington and cohancy streets in bridgeton. police were called after 2:00 to report several people fighting. two men were shot. one died, the other in critical condition. in delaware county, police are looking for a gunman who allegedly opened fire outside a private club overnight. it happened at the rs club at the 1900 block of mcdade boulevard. one man was shot and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. police have no motive for the shooting. "action news" has learned that a mother accused of abandoning her quadriplegic son in a wooded area in west philadelphia has been arrested. nyia parker has been taken into custody and faces extradition

back to philadelphia. she is cooed -- accused of leaving her son in the woods along cobbs creek parkway. he sulphurs from cerebral palsy. parker faces assault neglect and other charges. police got a break in the kidnapping assault and robbery of a woman who works on jewelers row in philadelphia. >> reporter: word spread quickly that police made an arrest in a brutal incident connected to the popular center city district. agents took 31-year-old gay into custody at a south carolina hotel friday night nearly a week after a jewelers row employee was kidnapped and tortured by three men. >> at whats great news be good they got him.

it will be great news when they get all of them. >> reporter: businesses owners and workers have been on edge since the men threw the victim into a van inside this chestnut street garage. they demanded keys to the workplace and codes to the safe. when she didn't have them robbers beat her and shot her with a taser. they did you find her in the darby borough cemetary after emptying her bank account at several atms. officials got a lead that led them to the south carolina. atf took gay into custody without incident. they have not said if the van has been recovered. there was increased security on jewelers row this week. >> make sure we were locked and when we were leaving at the door we were looking around if someone is following or

assigned off a 15,000-dollar fee of special council that brings the tab to $225,000 related to the lane closures. it caused massive gridlock and led to several resignations and firings. counties across pennsylvania are pushing state lawmakers to increase fees on phone customers, a bill to boost the fee from 1 dollar to 1.65 has been introduced in the state house it will make changes to the 911 emergency telephone act. 911 centers will face financial chaos if nothing is done. they hope to send the bill to the senate by the end of the month. there's more fallout from the firing of colwyn manager paula brown. colwyn officials say police officers can't do are there jobs because they don't have money to fuel the cruiser. brown was voted out thursday night. she refused to leave the office

pressure it's sitting over top of the delaware valley. there's high clouds trying to streak across the ohio valley now, creek that high is in firm control that will block everything out here to the west. that will keep us high and dry over the next couple of days. if you're traveling you'll run into problems across the gulf coast states and violent weather across the high plains. we'll zoom into this area where we have a risk for large hail, damaging winds with the thunderstorms that develop later this afternoon and outside shot of a couple of more tornados this is the omaha kansas area. we have thunderstorms developing thousands of lightning strikes over the last couple of hours as that rushes east. once this pulls through another cluster will develop this afternoon. all the violent rough weather that stays to the west, this guy is in control of the weather. lots of sunshine, mild temperatures highs in the upper 60s. tomorrow free frontal the winds

4:00 a.m. a handgun and rifle were found in the home. he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. a man is facing drunk driving charges after an accident that left his passenger critical overnight. police say a man driving a malibu was speeding southbound on columbus boulevard when he lost control and hit a lexus in the northbound lane. his car crashed through the fence at the coast guard station. the female passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. the woman driving the lexus suffered minor injuries. in the lehigh valley a four-alarm fire ripped through a family home. a neighbor saw the flames and called 911. the happened in north white hall township last night. the home was badly damaged. the family was not home at the time of the fire. the cause is under investigation. the woman accused of abandoning her son in a wooded

area in west philadelphia has been arrested. nyia parker is in custody in maryland where she is facing extradition back to philadelphia to face a number of charges. the 21 victim was discovered by a passer by near a wooded area on cobbs creek parkway. the person said he was walking by and saw the victim on the grounds covered with a blanket his wheelchair and bible were nearby. he suffers from cerebral palsy and quadriplegic. the victim is unable to speak. parker dumped him there five days ago. >> this kid is obviously a fighter. it's unbelievable how we found him to see him laying there it's heartbreaking to see that another human especially your mother could treat you like that. >> the victim is being treated for a cut on his back and dehydration and

abandoning her quadriplegic son. nyia parker is awaiting extradition back to philadelphia to face numerous charges. annie mccormick joins us live outside live southwest detective's with the latest. annie. >> reporter: 41-year-old nyia parker was arrested in montgomery county maryland she'll remain there until she has the extradition hearing. she is expected to be back in philadelphia on monday. she faces a slew of charges including aggravated assault neglect of a care dependent ant ant -- dependent person and unlawful imprisonment. >> reporter: a man found a 21-year-old victim in the woods quadriplegic cerebral cerebral he

was laid on the ground with only a blankets and bible. they believe she left monday to see her boyfriend in maryland. >> this kid is fighter. it's unbelievable to see how the kid was laying there it's heartbreaking. >> reporter: investigators say the special needs man attends the high school of the future at 42nd and parkside. the school became concerned and couldn't reach parker so they phoned an aunt. >> she indicated that the child was we with her. >> reporter: police say she lives here with a 16-year-old child and the victim. the teen is in the custody of family and the victim has relatives visiting him around the clock. he is lucky to be alive. >> he has a cut to his back, they are concerned about infection, he suffers from dehydration and malnutrition.

from the weather conditions his eyes are having issues. they have an eye doctor coming in to look at those. >> reporter: at this point police do not believe the boyfriend was aware of the allegations against his girlfriend. now, as for the 21-year-old victim he remains in the children's hospital of philadelphia, because he has been in the care of the doctors since he was a young boy. police say eventually he may be moved to an adult facility for now it's the best place for him to be toer. police are looking for a suspect who beat and stabbed a woman and left her in an alley in chester county. the action cam was in the 800 block of upland street. police say they found the victim at 6:10. she was conscious when she was taken to the hospital in serious condition. investigators have not said if they have any suspects in minds. police in cumberland county

leveled nearly all of the 50 homes in the town of fairdale. residents got their first chance to assess the damage. adam davis was chasing the tornado when he realized it took him to his parents home in town. they are okay, but the home is in ruins. a woman's community that was ravaged by the tornado that wreaked havoc used social media one woman lost her home and needed help to pick up the pieces. she made a simple request and it turned into a giant gesture of goodwill. >> i said we're fine, but this is what we need and people came out. >> neighbors and friends showed up.
