daughter's aid, food left cooking inside on the stove set the house on fire. we have just obtained video surveillance video of the vehicle, a white dodge durango and you can see obvious front end damage. the suspect is still at large but police say they know whom they're looking for. now according to family members, the victim, dee dee spencer has just emerged from surgery where doctors were forced to amputate one of her legs. we'll have more on the air and online as new information comes into "action news." all right, here is the latest on the car that struck and killed a two-year-old boy. police received the 2006 infiniti early this morning and they say the physical evidence proves it is the vehicle that struck the child and his mother at lehigh and mascher on monday. "action news" reporter david henry is live at accident investigation with the latest information. david. >> reporter: yeah, jim police had been searching for that vehicle for four days. turns out, it was 130 miles

away in williamsport pennsylvania and its owner hand delivered it today. >> and we're certain we have the vehicle, we're certain. there's no doubt that we have the right vehicle. >> reporter: this 2006 infiniti showed up at a police station in west philadelphia with its owner this morning. he had been in philadelphia with his girlfriend visiting relatives last weekend. the owner says he loaned the car to one of her relatives and that's who was driving it at the time of the accident. the owner and his girlfriend went back to williamsport monday night. police say they returned to philadelphia yesterday and realized their car may have been involved after watching a news report. police say until then, they didn't notice a small piece of headlight lens was missing. >> fortunately when we recovered the car the piece of the headlight that fell off fit perfectly into the car. so it's a big piece that has been recovered from the scene that matches up to the vehicle. >> reporter: police are now looking for a 19-year-old relative of the car owner's girlfriend.

sources say he has a prior arrest record for dui. police say he was behind the wheel when the car caught on surveillance mowed down 19-year-old josephine rivera and her two-year-old son david al say ya'. the boy died yesterday morning. rivera is now out of the hospital and back home. the family is crying out for justice as a sidewalk memorial for david continues to grow. the police say they're making progress toward that end with help from the car owner. >> very devastated. they're upset but they are cooperating and being very helpful in the investigation. >> reporter: and the police don't have an arrest warrant yet. they're hoping that the suspect turns himself. in the meantime they got a search warrant for that car and they are now processing it for fingerprints and dna evidence. live in north philadelphia, david henry, channel6 "action news." jim. >> thank you, david. police in delaware county are on the case of a deadly mystery tonight. a body has been discovered by

philadelphia police. the marine unit on tinicum island in the delaware river. chopper six was overhead as delaware county authorities were called in to investigate. there is no word yet on how that person was killed. philadelphia police have made another arrest in a gang beating at a gas station last week. surveillance video shows seven people piling out of a minivan and relenderlessly pummeling a 51-year-old homeless man with fists, feet, a piece of wood, and a hammer. it happened at the sin sunoco at fifth and somerville in olney april 7th. two women have already been arrested. now 23-year-old can i yeesh shah duggins is facing charges of attempted murder, conspiracy and numerous other offenses. about two dozen people have been arrested in a child pornography crackdown spanning the five county area. this operation has been going on for the last two weeks and agents made their final raid today. >> open the door.

the monday morning commute. that's because penndot is closing the structurally deficient bridge. the route 23 span on valley forge road over the pickerring creek in schuylkill township chester county. it is a small bridge but it will cause some major headaches. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live in schuylkill township to explain the detours and why this bridge needs to be torn down. vernon. >> reporter: it's in bad shape, jim, but it's going to cause major headaches through the end of the year to get it torn down and fixed and rebuilt as a matter of fact. i'm on route 23, a major route connecting chester county and montgomery counties of course and by this time on monday, it could well look like a parking lot out here. >> it's going to be a mess. it's going to be an absolute mess. >> reporter: that is the kind of pessimism we found on a busy friday afternoon on route 23 at the land mark valley forge road bridge over the pickerring creek. 20,000 motorists use this highway each day.

but the bridge is now 48 years old and in bad shape. it has to be torn down and replaced. monday morning penndot will shut it down and the rebuilding process will last through the end of the year. >> there will be post eddie tours both for passenger vehicles and for trucks. so there will be two separate detour routes. this will have a major impact on traffic through these western suburbs. there will be detour routes to already congested highways. examples route 422 to oaks, egypt road to route 29, to bridge street to phoenixville. those who use and live off this section of route 23 know congestion and slowdowns are coming. >> i know that it's going to -- a lot of friends of mine work in the king of prussia area so it's going to have some problems. you're going to have a lot of angry people in the morning in rush hour. >> it will be a little inconvenient but you have to live with it. they have to do the bridge. >> reporter: so valley forge road between phoenixville and valley forge will be closed

down between more hall drive and mcavoy lane. extra police will be deployed because motorists are expected to go through neighborhoods to get around the closures. >> my grandson rides up and down the street on the bike. >> reporter: it's going to be that way through the end of the year probably. >> that's what i heard i know. i'm not looking forward to it at all. my nice quiet neighborhood isn't going to be nice and quiet anymore. >> reporter: not for awhile, jim. another aspect of this as you look at a live picture of a busy and popular little shopping area down here, the potential fallout on route 23 merchants. this is the shop at pickerring place anchored by popular top shelf restaurant. they're hoping that these shut downs of the highway here will not have a major impact on their business here. they're alerting their base of customers that they will be opened during this process and there are detour routes that

will get them here. live in schuylkill township, vernon odom, which could channel6 "action -- channel6 "action news". >> mayor michael nutter held a news conference to express his hope that an appeals court clears the way for president obama's immigration reform measures to take effect. in february, a judge in texas blocked the president's executive actions to shield undocumented immigrants if deportation. today justice department lawyers argued against that ruling. opponents say the president abused his authority. pennsylvania's unemployment rate is up for the third month in a row. it rose a tenth of 1 percent to 5.3 percent from february to march but that's still better than the national rate of 5.5 percent. the state labor department said pennsylvania suffered a double dose of factors. more people looking for work while the number of jobs declined. coming up on "action news" tonight a-lehigh valley mayor

>> the literal power struggle at the revel in atlantic city has taken another turn tonight as a federal judge is banning the new owner from hooking up electric lines. last week the utility planter cut off all service and so glen straub brought in backup generators but today's temporary restraining order prohibits him from attaching those generators to the utility plant's equipment inside the revel. atlantic city has been fining straub $5,000 every day the revelry mains in -- revel remains in the dark. >> allentown mayor ed pawlowski announced today he's running he'll face for the right to face pat toomey in the fall. using the backdrop of construction activity in allentown, pawlowski said his experience as mayor is needed

in the senate. >> i think what people are most upset with in what's happening in washington today is just this obstructionist attitude that has stopped all progress from happening on multiple front and we need some pragmatic mayor types. i think we need a few more even to get things done and to change the culture that's occurring right now in d.c. >> word is that state democratic leaders are trying to recruit the chairman of the montgomery county commissioners josh shapiro to run in this election. a private school in princeton is singing a sour note these days despite the fact that's students make beautiful music. the american boy choir school is desperately trying to survive. the problem is money. not enough of it. new jersey correspondent nora muchanic has the story. >> ♪♪ >> reporter: the voices of students at the american boy choir school in princeton may sound sweet but the school's finances are hitting a sour note. the school has declared

bankruptcy and unless administrators can raise $350,000 to keep things going the private boarding school for fourth to eighth grade boys will be forced to end the school year about a month early. >> we don't have a large bank account, a large endowment waiting to help us. we depend on our supporters and the people who love music. >> reporter: school officials have appealed to parents and benefactors to contribute and some students have suggested asking award winning singer taylor swift for help. >> yes, i would like her to help us and why because our school needs her help -- their help to survive. >> reporter: other students have suggested asking billionaire bill gates. >> bill gates is a richman. i know he donates to education and i know he wants to see children follow their dreams. >> reporter: 50 students attend american boy choir where tuition starts at over $22,000 a year. the concert choir travels nationally and internationally but income from those performances doesn't cover

costs. so far american boy choir has been able to raise $140,000 but that's not enough to keep the school from closing early this year. >> most of us are really sad if the school closes down and we love to sing and i know people around the world love to hear us inc. sipping. >> reporter: the american boy choir school is hoping those voices won't be silenced because of money problems. in princeton i'm nora muchanic, channel6 "action news".

>> weekend accuweather forecast cecily tynan. >> it's looking really nice. plenty of sunshine this week. storm tracker six live double scan showing that most of our region is rain free. we have the showers this morning. they scooted off very quickly. however, there's one little batch of showers working out of kent county delaware over delaware bay heading towards salem and cumberland county, new jersey just to the east of 301. we do have that one heavier downpour but that's pretty much it. otherwise just a couple springs and some clouds out there. the accuweather highlights will show you that this week we've got a touch of spring fever and i'm tracking the warmest day so far this year but first i want to show you where the action cam was today. in fairmount park and you can see that the trees are really popping. the cherry blossoms looking great out there and we are seeing some filtered sunshine through the clouds today. now the accuweather highlights getting ahead of myself.

spring fever this week and i'm tracking the warmest day so far this year tomorrow. this week, though, four out of the five days we were in the 70's. the only day was tuesday when we had the clouds and showers the high only 63 degrees. today's high 74 degrees. you like it warmer? you've got it tomorrow. future tracker showing that by 5 o'clock tomorrow evening we're looking at 78 degrees in philadelphia, the warmest day of the year feeling like summer. if this is too warm for you too quickly i'm tracking a cooler day on sunday but a lot of sunshine. 73 degrees in philadelphia, millville 74. trenton and reading 71. wilmington 74. cooler on the beaches with the wind off the ocean. the ocean temperature a chilly 47 degrees. temperatures on the beaches only in the 50's. satellite6 along with action radar showing most of the shower activity about a tenth of an inch to a third of an inch occurred this morning. then we saw the clouds breaking for some sunshine and

the clouds will continue to break in the overnight hours. so just a spotty shower possible this evening. otherwise, pretty mild. 55 degrees in philadelphia, 50 in millville, 48 in reading and 47 degrees in allentown. for your saturday, wall to wall sunshine and feeling like summer. 78 degrees,. that front will move through dry late in the day. the problem in our northwest suburbs it really will kick up the winds. there is a fire weather watch posted up there with the wind, the low humidity you really want to be careful with any open fires any cigarette butts. then on sunday lots of sunshine, a cool east wind, the high 64 degrees. and monday we've got a soaking rain on the way could get an inch to two and a half inches of rain on monday. the good news is it won't be raining over your weekend. so the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 78 degrees tomorrow. we drop down to 64 degrees on sunday. monday wet and windy 61 degrees. and then 71 degrees with
