78 degrees, i actually think we'll get a high of 79 this afternoon that will be at 3:30, 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m., we're back to 77 degrees, a couple of issues we have afternoon enhanced fire danger out there until 8:00 p.m. because of low humidity. there will be a light breeze at times, of course we haven't had a lot of rain recently, so be careful about flicking the cigarettes out the car window and avoid parking your vehicle over dry grass. the pollen count is high today and tomorrow. we get a break on monday, the trade jo of is rain. i'll have details the rest of the weekend getting cooler on sunday, of course that monday morning rain it's all ahead in the seven day. >> a father, son and firefighter were injured in a blaze in northeast philadelphia. "action news" was at the green terrace apartments on tremont street. father and son were rescued from

the balcony being treated for smoke. the firefighter was hospitalized with minor burns to his legs. the action cam on the scene when one victim was stabbed in the chest, he is in critical condition at einstein. the other victim was stabbed in the face, he is out of the hospital. both men are in their 40s investigators took a third man into custody so far no word what set all this off. two dozen people were arrested in a child pornography crackdown that expand the five-county area. agents with the pennsylvania attorney general's carried out a day long raid against child predators. "action news" was there as the police moved in. >> reporter: agents with the pennsylvania attorney general's child preld tore unit raided

this home before noon. their target -- predator unit raided this home. >> he had 25 files of child porn greafer depicting a little girl. only "action news" was there as attorney general was briefed. the raid culminates a two week operation netting 23 arrests. ryan garner was captured outside a restaurant. he shout he was meeting a mother to have sex with her 8-year-old daughter. >> that's the nice part of the job when they arrive instead of meeting the child they meet us. >> reporter: in the past year, the attorney general's office has been using mobile units like this they increase efficiency and allow agents an officers to make arrests and file charges and get the sexual predators behind bars much more quickly.

their man. a tip led to rashawn mitchell. he is the suspect in four robberies. three of them in the past week. for now, he is charged with only one, a holdup at a center city republic bank on february 28. philadelphia police made another arrest in the vicious gas station beating. surveillance video show # people pile out -- seven people pile out of a minivan and pummel a man with a fists wood and hammer. two women were arrested and another is facing charges and attempted murder and conspiracy and numerous other counts. >> allentown mayor he had pulaski announced he is running for u.s. senate he will compete with joe sestak of delaware county to face pat toomey in the

fall. using the construction backdrop in his city he said his experience as mayor is needed in the senate. >> i think what people are most upset with what's happening in washington today is this obstruction iist attitude that has stopped recall progress from stopping on all fights. we need a mayor to get things done and change the culture that's going on in washington d.c. >> state democratic leaders are trying to recruit the chairman of the montgomery county commissioners josh shapiro to run. new hampshire and the race for the white house potential nominees are addressing the gop conference. marko rubio told the crowd that learning english is essential for any american. chris christie will push back

the age for social security or medicare for future retirees. hillary clinton will complain in new hampshire monday and tuesday she'll hold round table discussions with small business employees students and educators. she'll meet with elected officials. mrs. clinton won the new hampshire primary in her first presidential bid in 2008. the power struggle at the revel has taken another turn. last week the utility plant cut off service when strawbl -- straub brought in backup generators. he is prohibited from attaching that to the equipment. atlantic city is fining him five thousand dollars every day he

after a romantic active. >> reporter: friends of beatrice spence say they cannot believe she ended up in the hospital with critical injuries. the friends and family said they they know who did it, dee and a woman known as precious were employed in a fight over a man they both dated. the woman with a lotted for deedee and neighbors heard it unfold. the suspect allegedly drove up on the sidewalk and ran her over leaving her unconscious and badly injured. the surveillance video showed the durango with front end

damage leaving the scene and come back and drive away. in a cruel twist of fate as de deedee's mother stayed by her side in the ambulance she left food on the stove and the house burned down. >> she left the pot on the whole house burnt down because of that. now she has nothing. now she has nothing. this is a catastrophe. >> reporter: the victim did undergo surgery she lost her leg and remains in critical condition this morning as of right now no arrests in this case. anyone with information call philadelphia police. reporting from einstein medical center, walter perez channel 6 "action news." new this morning three people including a firefighter had to be taken to the hospital after an apartment fire in northeast philadelphia. blaze broke out just after 11:00 p.m. the green terrace apartments in the 2200 block of tremont

street. crews had to rescue a father and son from the second floor balcony. they had to be taken to the hospital for smoke. the firefighter was taken to the hospital for burns to his legs. no word on what sparked the fire. a vigil was held for the little boy killed by a hit-and-run driver in west kensington. they prayed for justice for little david alleash i -- they recovered the vehicle yesterday, but say the owner was not behind the wheel. a relative of the girlfriend took the car and took off after the crash. >> our prayers have been answered in some ways, because justice has been served, at the end of the day we'll get our justice for the baby. >> reporter: police have not publicly identified who they are

looking for. a mother and boyfriend from norwood, delaware county have been charged with murder in the death of the woman's 2-year-old son, mason hunt died february 3. the mother's boyfriend daniel fraffton said the boy died in the bathtub but the child had been beaten to death. a former south jersey high school band director has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a students. jason konig received two concurrent sentences. he sexually assaulted a girl twis when he was the school -- twice when he was the school's band director. he must register as a sex offender. christine o'donnell is firing back at allegations by the federal election commission.

it is alleged she used $20,000 in campaign contributions to pay rent and utility bills at a delaware townhouse. that house served as the headquarters in the 2010 senate campaign. it is said she lived there for almost ten months, something she denies. a court in los angeles released this surveillance video suge knight plowing into two men in the pick up truck. you can see the truck back up before hitting one of the victims. knight has been ordered to stand trial on murder, attempted murder and other charges. his attorney said he was fleeing an ambush when he hit the men outside a comp ton burger stand in january. former atlantic city fire chief who was at the center of a panels-dropping scandal will receive his 13,000-dollar a month retirement pension. dennis brooks was put on administrative leave following the incident at the public safety buildings.
