outdoor school-sponsored gathering. both shootings happened on the delaware university main campus at 8:00 p.m. during a large gathering for a fraternity cookout. three people were shot when someone fired a gun at the event. they were taken to kent general hospital where you're a the students are in stable condition. a student said it was a chaotic scene. >> someone got trampled, i heard gunshots. it was a horrific eventually. >> the campus went into immediate lockdown. police say there were no arrests, there's no word if any of the victims were students or visitors. no one was hurt during the second shooting overnight. a young football player will be remembered during mass after he collapsed and died this weekend it happened during a spring training warmup for the st. joe's prep football team yesterday.

the tragedy has shaken upment -- up the tight-knit school community. ryan gilliard was on the football field for a morning conditioning workout when he collapsed in front of his teammates. his coaches ran to help, but they couldn't revive the teen. ryan was rushed to the nearby temple university hospital where he was pronounced dead. his grief-stricken father said he was at the hospital and his son died. he said he had no preexisting medical condition and playing football since third grade. st. joes expressed condolences to the family of the 15-year-old who played cyo basketball at st. dennis in havertown. ryan was a great person and

proud to have someone as part of our community. we'll do whenever we -- whatever we can to support his family and friends. the head coach and the staff walked out after spending time with players saturday. the school said counselorses will be available all week as the students cope with the loss of the young athlete. counselors will be at st. joe's prep to help students with the death. a driver hit a tree in south philadelphia. this is what is left after the crash on christopher columbus boulevard. the driver ran off the road and hit a tree. the driver was taken to jefferson hospital for non-life threatening injuries. four families are homeless after a fire forced them out of

their homes on the unit block of church street in burlington county mount holly. the flames spread to a back wall and up to a second floor. everyone was able to get out of the home safely. the home was the converted into four apartments. police have a suspect in custody the day after a hit-and-run. the woman has yet to be charged in the hit-and-run. witnesses say the white suv with the woman identified as precious behind the wheel hit deedee spence friday afternoon. the alleged motive was a love triangle between the woman. >> she keep saying she ran me over mom and took my leg i wasn't going with him nobody going to want me now because i have one leg. >> police say an anonymous tip led them to the white dodge

durango. during the chaos the family forget about dinner cooking on the stove and resulted in a fire resulting the family home. a vigil was held for latif wilson who died after running into traffic near 57th and litchfield streets an monday night. police have talked with the suspect's attorney but she has not been arrested. balloons were released in wilson's honor. an 8th grader accused of conspiring with her soldier boyfriend to have her mother killed will remain in an adult jail. she was originally sent to the youth center the day after her 54-year-old mother's body was found in march. the teenager has been charged as an adult with homicide and criminal conspiracy.

her boy friend is charged with homicide. authorities say she wanted her mother dead because she was trying to break up the relationship. a third party is stepping in to offer to restore power to atlantic city's revel casino. wells fargo is offering to pay 300,000 docials to get the electricity turned back on for two weeks. the company was the casino's former learned. it is offering to use the proceeds from the 82 million-dollar sale to prevent a possible catastrophe. developing glen straub and acl energy partners have not been able to agree on a contract. without power it would be impossible to battle a blaze there. carl icon vested into the

>> a man is in critical condition after falling off a rooch in burlington county -- roof of a business in burlington county new jersey. police say the man fell three stories and landed in parking lot between two buildings. a medical helicopter flew him to cooper university hospital in camden. police are trying to determine what the man was doing on the roof. three people are in the rope after their car flipped over on a road in bucks county. the action cam was on the scene it's a after 2:40 a.m. on settlers drive in doylestown. the driver lost control of the car on a sharp curve. the vehicle landed on its roof. two people inside were thrown from the car. one in critical condition. the other two are listed as serious. so far there's no word on what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. >> philadelphia police are searching for a gunman after

another man was shot and killed overnight. it happened on the 700 block of north preston street in north philadelphia. he was rushed to pen presbyterian hospital where he died. police have no motive or suspect in the shooting. a 3-year-old remains in the hospital this morning after she was attacked by a dog while visiting the grandmother in west philadelphia. the happened yesterday evening on the 5900 block of washington avenue. police same the little girl was being held by her 84-year-old grandmother when the dog attacked her. >> we were making the assertion that the dog got jealous that the grandmother was holding the child and the dog attacked the child mauling it about the head area. >> police say the grandmother tried to protect the toddler and was injured in the process. the girl was rushed to children's hospital of philadelphia where she is in critical, but stable condition. no charges are expected in this case. the dog was never a problem

controversy surrounding a third grade field trip because of who was invited to go. the administrators at the south bend school in indiana only invited along african-american students. the field trip organizer defended the move to exclude other children to get african-american children to think about college but what it does is breed a misunderstanding of separation. >> it creates a double standard. the school said the trip with was not meant to offend anyone and did not change its plans. police in long island said the man set himself his car and two other vehicles on fire while trying to get rid of bedbugs.

delaware state university hours after three people were shot during an outdoor school sponsored gathering. both shootings happened on the main campus in dover. the first happened during a large gathering fraternity cookout. three people were shot and are all in stable condition. a student at delaware state said it was a chaotic scene. >> it was people running and screaming people got trampled, i heard gunshots, it was a horrific event. >> the campus went into immediate lockdown. police have made no arrests. nobody was hurt during the second shooting overnight. a young football player will be remembered during masses this morning after he collapsed and died this weekend. it happened during a spring training warmup for the saint escrows prep football team yesterday, the tragedy has shaken up the tight-knit school

community. >> reporter: there was an emotional saturday on the campus of st. joe's prep as financial coaches, parents and students grapple with the loss of ryan gilliard. he was on the practice field in north philadelphia for a morning conditioning workout when he collapsed in front of his teammates. his coaches ran to help, but they couldn't revive the teen. ryan was rushed to nearby temple university hospital where he was pronounced dead. his grief-stricken father sailed he was at the practice and the hospital when his son died. ryan had no preexisting medical condition and playing football since third grade. ryan's love. game and his talent brought him to this renown athletic program. he played cyo basketball at saint dennis in havertown. ryan ryan was a great person and

someone we were proud to have as our community. we will do whatever we can to support his family and friends and the freshman class and football team of which he was a member. the school said grief counselors will be available all weekend as this communities copies with the loss of the young student athlete. clownsers will -- counselors will be on hand for the students tomorrow at st. joe's prep. an autopsy will be perform to determine how he died. we'll have the latest on "action news." a driver's car was crushed after losing control in south philadelphia. this is what is left of the mercedes on columbus avenue. the driver ran off the road and hit a tree. the driver was taken to jefferson hospital for non-life threatening injuries. four families are homeless after

a fire forced them out of their homes overnight. it happened on the unit block of church street in mount holly burlington county. police think it started on the back porch where someone was barbecuing. everybody was able to get out of the home safely. the home was converted into four apartments. philadelphia police have a person in custody a day after the hit-and-run that hit a woman that servered her leg. the woman identified as precious hit deedee spence friday afternoon. the alleged motive was a love triangle between the woman. deedee spence denies the charges. >> she ran me over, mom she took my leg mom i wasn't even going with him. nobody go with me now because i

only got one leg. >> police say a tip led them to this white dodge durango. during the hit-and-run the family forget about the dinner cooking on the stove that developed into a fire that destroyed the family home. funeral was held for latif wilson dozens were there to honor wilson. police talked with the suspect's attorney she has not been arrested. after the memorial service balloons were released in wilson's honor. an 8th grader from the lehigh valley accused of conspiring with her soldier boyfriend to have her mother killed will remain in an adult jail. the judge denied returning her to a juvenile facility. she was sent to the youth center the day after her 5 #-year-old

mother's body was found in march. the teenager has been charged as an adult. her boyfriend is charged with homicide. she wanted her mother dead because she was trying to break up the relationship. police arrested a man who allegedly tried to lure an 8-year-old girl into his vehicle, when she refused police say he exposed himself. police say 22-year-old juan perez jaurez tried to get the little girl into the car. the girl's father saw him and confronted him. he drove away and crashed into a pole. he kept driving and crashed again later police arrived and made the arrest. statistics in new jersey show that murders have gone up. 401 in 2013. violent crimes remained level
