>> also, family with three type yeah newborns receives a gift that really helped them make their way around town. >> and the big story on "action news" is a fire that ripped through several row homes in norristown leaving five families in need of a place to stay. >> it happened around 1:00 this afternoon 8 0 0 block of cone street where "action news" reporter kenneth moton joins us live with the latest. kenneth. >> walter, sarah the fire has been out for a bit. but we have a busy scene here where residents are inside the hard hit homes sal ofaging what they can. firefighters worked to gets this under controlch the damage is on the backside of the house where's neighbors say it peers an afternoon barbeque is to blame. >> charred remains of back porches and houses were all that remained on the block. a neighbor captured the flames 1 p.m. cone street it started and one home and moved fast. >> it was crazy. fire all above the top of the

roof. it was orange. >> fueled by wood, dry conditions and wind the fire jumped from one house to the next which kept firefighters busy. in all, eight houses impacted. five homes got the worst of it. severe fire smoke and water damage. apparent cause neighbors say a grill. >> the people were grilling meat on the house next door. a neighbor wept next door to say hey something is on fire. but the neighbor the person was actually that was grilling the meat ignored it. >> on this street of families thankfully everyone escaped without injury. >> everything can be replaced as long as nobody got hurt it's fine. nobody needs to hold grudges it's somebody fault it happens. >> the fire crawled along the homingdz and ate away at the roof causing extensive damage. theresa johnson's house on the end was spared. she's awaiting word from inspector and her insurance company. >> i just got sent an angel mine is the only one that didn't get

i heard gunshots taken was horrific event. >> according to the university three people were shot and transported to kept general hospital. party goers took to social media to show the moments after. and students we spoke to that did not want to be identified, say numerous fights then broke out. >> it was too much commotion. i heard gun shots and then you see everyone running. everyone could hear the sound pretty much and ran from that. >> violent weekend did not end there. after 1 a.m. sunday shots rang out at this nearby apartment complex a short distance from the previous shooting. the complex houses mostly students who say someone fired a gun in the air. no one was injured. neighbors across the street were startled. >> i heard some shots about 1:15 in the morning i heard shots across the street. and there was a lot of people i never seen that many people. >> the university police department is handling the investigation. and have a description of a suspect for sunday morning shooting.

there is no arrests or suspect in the triple shooting. students say people not associated with the school are the ones who started the trouble. >> it saddens me i know students at delaware state university we know how to conduct ourselves prop arely when you bring other people outside of the university and they don't know our core values and don't know how we operate that's when it becomes a problem. >> we're told all three of those people cents to the hospital have non-life-threatening injuries. the university tells us after each shooting they september out campus wide alerts. annie mccormick, "channel 6 action news." >> philadelphia police are trying to find the person that shot and killed a man inside a home in west philadelphia early this morning. after responding to 911 call officers found a 23-year-old man inside a bedroom on the 700 block of north press ton street with gunshot wounds to the head, back, neck and arm. he was rushed to presbyterian hospital. he was pronounced dead. no further information is

released of this case at this time. >> in bucks county police investigating a collision that left a pedestrian dead before 2:30 this afternoon in the 4300 block of route 313 plumstead. the pedestrian was crossing the street in a westbound lanes and stepped right in front of a pickup truck. the victim is a 59-year-old doylestown man but he's not been identified yet. officials say this is a heavily traveled roadway that is tough to get across. >> there's no crosswalks in this location. there's not too much pedestrian traffic as you can see. there's really no sidewalks over than right directly in front of the car dealers. >> police is the shut down the road for a time when they worked a piece together. exactly what happened. >> and children treated for serious illnesses were given an opportunity to put their cares behind him if only for one day. kelly anne doeland memorial fund and "spirit of philadelphia" hosted family and kids on a river cruise. there was lunch live entertainment and a chance to

satellite 6 along with action radar showing clouds thickening though and here's the leading edge of rain. once the rain moves in, it's going to be several hours before it actually moves out and the problem really is going to be the timing. future tracker showing 3:00 in the morning showers breaking out of the western suburbs and it gets heavy for the morning commute. 7:30 in the morning a soaking rain, pockets of heavy rain by 11:00 and it's pushing east of philadelphia and not going to be one of those days it rains all day. we don't see any sunshine. we likely will get late-day sunshine at 5:00. future tracker showing breaks in the clouds. problem there's a cold front movele in in the evening. you get the sunshine. you got the heating of air. and that will cut a fuel -- kind of fuel the fire and possibility of severe thunderstorms that will be rolling through in the evening. future tracker showing the temperatures tomorrow, they will be owe on the warm side ahead of the cold front at 3:00. philadelphia reaching high of 73.

that does mean we have a better chance of some very active thunderstorms. so severe storm prediction center put bulk of viewing area under slight rick of severe weather. what this means any thunderstorm could contain damaging wind gusts and you'll certainly probably hear that rumble of thunder. this is what to expect tomorrow. heaviest rain between 3:00 and 10:00 in the morning and during the morning commute that's when we'll likely get 1 to 2" of rain and late peaks of sunshine and then showers and thunderstorms rolling through in the evening. so call from accuweather for tonight, clouds continue to thickening. rain arriving after midnight. it gets windy as well, overnight low 47 in the lehigh valley. and 50 for center city and the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast tomorrow that heavy rain in the morning 73 degrees. evening showers and thunderstorms tuesday. gorgeous sunny breezy, mild, 70. wednesday increw crease clouds 65. could have a shower on wednesday and temperatures begin to dip on thursday cloudy, cool, 59.
