off, let's go to david murphy and matt pellman for weather and traffic. >> reporter: rain has arrived this morning at times it will be heavy always it moves through the region. right now we have yellow west of wilmington. if you take a look out wider there's additional precipitation out to the south and west of us that looks heavy. basically between now and through the rush hour we are looking at periods of heavy rain and i expect ponding and puddling on the roads ways. as the rain continues to build we'll get the ponding on the roads that tend to slow us down. this morning we're looking at temperatures in the cool range. 52 degrees in philadelphia. you can see how the winds are rolling in off the ocean. 47 in allentown. 5 # in wilmington, 48 in trenton. 57 degrees in dover. however, those winds are going to turn around more from the southeast and eventually the southwest today that that will raise the numbers.

for the backup forecast cloudy skies and rain in spots, we have more rain than the. temperatures inching to the 60s at the end of the backup period. 68 degrees as the winds turn out of the south. we'll get very mild. 74 degrees, high of 76 around 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. matt, there's a chance of thunderstorms coming in later today. i'll check that out on future tracker 6 coming up. >> let's raise the numbers that sounds good. the numbers are high on the speedometers as we look live at the vine street expressway. the traffic is moving fine in both directions. they did not close 676 overnight so all lanes open ready for the morning commute. there's no construction along i-95 in the on going work zone along cottman avenue. traffic moving fine in both directions. without for ponding and puddling

in the work zones the dwrainage is not as good as it is in other spots. accident old york roads and they are doing construction on the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike northbound near the landslide daily interchange taking out one of the two lanes. as advertised in schuylkill township chester county they are closing valley forge road for long term construction bridge work over the pickerrerring creek until the end of the year. you'll see plenty of extra traffic along route 29 'egypt road and 29 to the turnpike, we'll talk about the huge construction project as the morning progresses. while some of us could see heavy downpours other areas of the country have been seeing severe weather. >> an enormous portion of the county is struggling to recover
