double scan radar lets get right to meteorologist cecily tynan, cecily. >> reporter: jim, storms are rolling in after a quiet evening. we have this whole complex ahead of the cold front has slowly been moving to the east. that tornado watch that was set to expire at 10:00 o'clock has been extended until midnight as we get those stronger storms in. i want to show you a live skies six view from wilmington right now and the rain is falling heavily at times and we have been watching a a lot of lightening strikes with the cell that is moving through will in mink ton all pushing up to the north and east right now. closer up on live double scan showing this is a cell over wilmington that has reports of pea sized hail. moving toward the the north east at 30 miles an hour. rolling a crowning i-95 corridor. fourteen lightening strikes in the past five minutes. here's the path of the storm delaware aston bridge tort, chester, ridley park, you are in the path. you will be hearing thunder rolling through.

latest updates on the air from 4:30 until 7:00 a.m. authorities tonight are trying to determine what exactly caused an underground explosion, on a busy commercial street in wayne tonight. it happened right outside a popular restaurant. a "action news" reporter sharrie williams has details. >> reporter: employees tell us it started with a loud bang and then followed by smoke and also fire. taking a look at the scene as it is happening and unfolding fire fighters are still trying to be sure that they have everything under control. in the last hour power has been restored to most of the building on north wayne avenue also known as restaurant row but it is still under investigation. if that explosion started from the transformer below ground or faulty wiring below ground. either way those who heard and saw it, say it was a scary ordeal. >> i was running out of the front door and it just

exploded. i saw flash bang and then i'm underneath a table. i'm freaking out. >> reporter: bobby carfagno was working inside a pizza shop in wayne radnor township when he ran for his life. >> it hit me first. then they kind of went backwards. i was underneath the table. >> reporter: it was the height of the dinner time when an explosion erupted in the 100 block of north wayne avenue. this video captured by a viewer shows the moment of impact with the smoke and fire. it sent customers and employees on the entire block running. >> i hit the the ground so hard. there was fire and window just exploded on us. it was so scary. >> i didn't ask any questions. they told me to get out. they wanted to pay for it. i didn't just walk out. urgency to get out of there so that is what we did. >> reporter: suburban building on north wayne avenue still does not have power to it.

the baltimore police department is facing serious questions tonight have after a man died in their custody. attorney for victim's family says young man's spine had been almost completely severed at the neck this cell phone video taken by bystanders, shows officers dragging a screaming, freddie gray, to a police van. he died a week later. today autopsy results confirmed that gray did suffer a significant injury to his spine. there has been no explanation as to how this happened. >> what we don't know and what we need to get to is how that injury occurred. we want to get there but we want to do it very carefully very thorough and get to the truth of the matter. >> six police office are have have been suspended with pay.

in texas, two police officers didn't hesitate yesterday when they pulled up to the vehicle fire with a driver trapped inside. the officers broke window, grabbed the man and dragged him away from the flames. they and a good samaritan were able to get the a man to safety. the driver was seriously hurt but the the officers are being credited with saving his life. more than 5 million hens will have to be euthanized because authorities confirmed that their farm in i was has been infect by the bird flu. this particular farm has 10 percent of iowa's egg laying hens and department of agriculture will remove quickly to arrest the spread of the deadly disease. officials don't think this will cause a spike in egg prices if it stops here. italian coastguard ship, docked in cecily tonight carrying 27 survivors of this weekend's disaster off the coast of libya. 900 migrants tried to escape from war torn libya drowned when their vessel capsized.

wind with lightening and heavy rain moving in. storm tracker six live double scan showing storms took a while to get here but they are rolling in. we have a couple clusters that i'm tracking. one is moving in the lehigh valley. this one is moving into some cooler air, so it is beginning to fall apart a bit but lynnport is in the path of the storm, new tripoli slatington walnutport and cherry villain, 47 lightening strikes in the the pass 50 minutes. there is a lot of lightening. the other cell that i showed you in the top of the newscast is moving in south jersey and moving north east at 30 miles per hour. it should be moving into center city by 11:30. it is rolling into south jersey as well. camden will be seeing that by 11:38. a lot of lightening strikes heavy wind and hail earler with that cell. lets go to where sky six is taking a look at wilmington delaware.
