dave murphy has the accuweather forecast and matt pelman is filling in for karen. >> that had to be a pretty good rant for it to set a record for baseball managers because there have been a full over the years. double scan shows you there are a couple of light sprinkles and showers north and west of philadelphia. it's possible we see a bit of there as we go through the morning hours. i think the better chance is later this afternoon and right out to the west we are starting to see some pretty good showers pop up and as we get into the afternoon and things get a little bit milder ahead of that approaching front we are looking at the possible development of some thunderstorms and where these hit at some point this afternoon the big concern with these, i mean, yes they'll produce lightning and brief downpours but a real high risk of strong gusty winds perhaps gusting 40 to 50 miles per hour. not quite severe parameters but we'll warn you to make sure you secure trash cans if you can before you leave today because at some point this afternoon that roars through and where they hit they'll produce strong winds. 52 degrees in philadelphia, 45

wilmington, 42 in allentown 49 in sea isle city. ahead of those showers and thunderstorms we are going to see temperatures really rise quickly but if you're headed out in the morning still cool. partly cloudy, 49 by 7:00, 54 by 8:00 a.m., maybe a sprinkle in a couple of spots. here's how temperatures are going to go. by 8 o'clock 54 then up to 66 by noon i think we'll hit a high of 69 degrees probably around 2 o'clock. but then those thunderstorms come through and at 3 o'clock we're probably back down 65 and by 6:00 all the way down to 56. i'll have the future tracker six view of those storms rolling through later this afternoon and the rest of the seven day coming up matt. >> it's got to be too good to be true that it's dry out there this morning and then you said showers are headed our way. as we look live it's drive at this point along 95 here in the great northeast by cottman avenue and the overnight construction wrapped up a little bit early meaning the off ramp from the northbound side of 95 to cottman has reopened so go ahead use it and enjoy but there's still work going on here in center

city on the vine street expressway eastbound side this morning from this point just past the schuylkill you see the arrow board on out to broad street. they have the two left lanes blocked. so, just the right lane is squeezing by. of course volume is so light at this hour that there are no delays but during the crunch down into the west eastbound lane as you head toward broad street on the vine. had overnight police activity germantown avenue and erie avenue. that just cleared out. we're getting reports of a crash on the roosevelt boulevard northbound side at ryan avenue with restriction there is in the inner drive. stick with the outer drive as you head north on the boulevard this morning to avoid that crash. we had construction all day yesterday on the ben franklin bridge gave us big westbound delays even during the afternoon commute which is pretty unusual. this morning it looks like that construction is clear. i see an arrow board right here in the right lane but then up ahead the right lane is moving. so hopefully they get that arrow board out of the way and we'll be set and good to go for the wednesday morning ride.

matt. >> all right matt thank you. developing overnight bucks county officials have confirmed a man who had been unaccounted for at a fire scene was killed in the blaze. the fire broke out last night on the 6600 block of point pleasant pike in plumstead township. officials say the victim was a 58-year-old man who lived there alone. firefighters found his body at around midnight. we'll have a full report on the deadly blaze coming up in our next half hour. the action cam was in wayne, delaware county overnight where peco crews are still working to restore power. cell phone video captured monday night's underground explosion. the blast sent restaurant employees and diners running but luckily no one was hurt. some businesses have dealt with this outage. now more than 33 hours old the old fashioned way. like this barbershop that offered hair cuts outdoors. >> four children on the mend this morning. they were hit by a pickup truck as they played in woodbury heights gloucester county. the this happened around 8:00 last night along the 400 block

of chestnut avenue. witnesses say the kids were playing on the block when the truck hit them. the victims, two boys and two girls, ages four, eight, nine and 15, suffered a number of bumps and bruises. they were taken to cooper university hospital for treatment. >> i know all these children and we're just really thankful that all -- that they're going to be okay and that's what -- that's the main thing, that they're going to be okay they're going to get to go out and play again and have fun. >> the driver ended up driving his truck into the brush on the side of the roadway but wasn't hurt. there's no word yet on if charges will be filed. >> a multi billion dollar project is set to take off today at philadelphia international airport. "action news" reporter eva pilgrim is live at phl with a preview. good morning eva. >> reporter: good morning matt. a major announcement is expected today here at the airport that will pave the way for that multi billion dollars expansion project at noon. officials are scheduled to

sign paperwork resolving lawsuits over the capacity enhancement program. that allows for a massive expansion which includes a longer runway, renovations inside and a people mover to get people between the terminals. philadelphia tinicum township and the interboro school district had to come to terms over tax issues and land rights. this project will take at least 12 years and there are other phases of projects that are already being thought about in the works. we'll have the latest as this develops through the morning. live at philadelphia international airport, eva pilgrim, channel6 "action news." >> thanks eva. the driver of a school bus in south jersey suffered a possible heart attack behind the wheel and went off the road. 12 students from springville elementary were on the board the bus when this happened yesterday afternoon. the driver went over a curb and hit a home on lenape court in mount laurel. the young students on board were scared but not hurt. the driver was taken to the hospital. >> philadelphia police are looking for a man who posed as

an officer to commit a crime in cobbs creek. they released this surveillance video of last friday's incident. the victim was walking near 52nd and cedar when she was approached by a man claiming to be a policeman. it appears the man flashed what looked like a badge and ordered the woman to drop her bag and stand against the wall. the suspect picked up the bag and ran off. the suspect is also responsible for three robberies last week authorities believe. a bensalem woman collared for alleged animal cruelty. animal officials reportedly found 43 chihuahuas. police say the tenant will face up to 100 charges. >> a well deserving veteran and his family have a new place to call home in burlington county. staff sergeant maurio murray received a custom built home in florence township yesterday thanks to the built to honor program: the fully furnished home is big enough for murray his wife and three children.

technology and his adorable eight-year-old daughter katie who you see right there. chris early is a self described tech junkie who owns a production company. as mentioned he's father to eight year old katie who asked him to walk to school on her own a few weeks ago. of course katie didn't want her father to watch her. let's say his creative instincts kicked n he used the drone he had to take video of her on her way to school. now, some may say he's being too protective but chris says it's all in fun and of course a great way to make sure katie is safe. >> i was like -- uh wow. he didn't tell me then and so i was pretty surprised. >> it was just kind of a thing just to kind of keep an eye on just to make sure she was looking both ways, let her know that daddy is always watching. >> daddy is always watching. early says he had the drone for about a month and plans on using it for commercials he produces for his production company. he just has to wait on the faa

and just a couple of sprinkles and showers up into the in the northern and western suburbs and i don't think that's going to be an issue for most of us this morning. most of you get in to work and to scoot crime as we take a look outside we have cloudy conditions to the west ann little bit of sunshine getting ready to pop up over the horizon to the east and those clouds in the process of getting a little bit thicker as we go through the morning. 52 degrees currently in philadelphia. on the cool side. winds out of the southwest at 5 miles per hour. not all that strong right now. that could change later on. future tracker six shows us that we're going to see some sunshine early with some clouds gathering as the morning goes on and again by 8:30 there is the possibility of a little sprinkle or shower up north. the model has most of any steady rain in the poconos but we'll allow for it especially in the northern suburbs. after 2 o'clock we'll be on the lookout for a line of showers and perhaps spotty thunderstorms along that line popping in toward the east and as those come through where they hit they could actually

produce real strong gusty winds. the chance of this would probably be best after about two or 3 o'clock. you can see the model likes this right in and around philadelphia around 4 o'clock. where you see those thunderstorms in those isolated areas you could get wind gusts up to 40 to 50 miles per hour, so look out for that if you hear a rumble of thunder. around 6 o'clock looks like we're looking at that stuff over by the coast ready to clear out. the rest of the evening mainly dry with a spotty shower around. a high risk of strong storms. downpours and lightning will be part of the package. this is the real thing we're warning for no tornadoes with this and just a moderate chance of a little bit of hail. as we take a look at temperatures today, it's really going to depend on the timing of that rain coming in. 54 cool by 8 o'clock. no way around that. then 64 by 11 o'clock. by 2 o'clock we'll probably hit our high of 69 but if we're right about the timing of those storms as soon as they come through the temperature will drop and by 5 o'clock behind most of that

action we'll be down to 57 and dropping from there. taking a look at the high temperatures across the region with the understanding that these are soft early in the afternoon, mid 60's up in the lehigh valley, up close to 70 in philadelphia, 70 in dover and down the shore the mid 60's with that shower and thunderstorm chance. for the phillies tonight looks like most that of rain is gone by the time the game is starting. maybe a lingering shower. i think the big story tonight is that it will be breezy and cool, first pitch temperature 57. 52 in the ninth inning. as we look ahead toward tomorrow, a couple sprinkles and showers in the north but the rest of us look like we're mainly going to be dry. can't totally rule out a little sprinkle or shower at times t your seven-day from accuweather, 69 degrees, whoa, a shower a thunderstorm around. got those allergies still working. and again the afternoon would be the center of the action there. won't be raining most of the day but occasionally yeah. then breezy and cooler on thursday 56 degrees, slight chance of that shower mainly up north. brisk and cool on friday,

56 degrees. and then for the weekends we start to get back up closer to 60. saturday we're looking at sunny and breezy day and then 62 partly sunny on sunday. and as we roll into next week, we start to bump those numbers up a little bit. could be some more rain by about tuesday night okay. >> thank you david. take a look at new video into "action news." security cameras caught a nan a wheelchair rolling right off the platform and onto the tracks at washington d.c.'s metro station, one of them. several good samaritans quickly pulled him and his wheelchair back up onto the platform. the man apparently suffered no more than a bloody lip but he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. no word on what caused him to roll onto the tracks in the first place. also new this morning a florida grandmother wearing just that itsy bitsy bikini, for a grand month is looking good in that was arrested after police suspected she was driving under the influence. police say 49-year-old patricia ebel plowed into the back of a stopped car with her 10-year-old grandchild in the

vehicle. the driver of the hit car was taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. the woman and her grandson were not hurt. >> time for your first business at the big board. allentown soda company has a new lease on life three months after it closed its doors. allentown businessman paul eicler has purchased a treat. he says he'll bring back former workers along with eight traffic flavors. trek is recalling more than more than 1 million bicycles in the u.s. and canada,. the consumer products safety commission says a quick release lever can come into contact with the front disk brake causing the wheel to fall off or come to an instant stocks. stocks were mixed on tuesday following some bad earnings reports. right now futures point to a higher open. chipotle continues to deal with a pork shortage saying it may last through the end of

drives are blocked in both directions near ryan avenue so stick with the outer drives. no big delays at this point. action cam is head to the scene so hopefully before too long we'll have pictures for you. this is the vine street expressway eastbound side some construction this morning. hasn't been closed but they've been blocking the left lanes. they're in the process of backing up and picking up the cones right now but at this point stay to your right coming off the schuylkill expressway. and there's still some road work as well on the pennsylvania turnpike, couple zones westbound by bensalem and willow grove. watch out for restrictions but no big delays at this point. more traffic in just a few minutes. >> we want peace we want justice. >> at least 1,000 people gathered in baltimore to protest the death of a man who suffered a fatal injury while in police custody. 25-year-old freddie gray was arrested on april 12th and died one week later from a spinal cord injury. circumstances that led to his arrest or his fatal injury remain a mystery. six officers have been suspended with pay. the justice department says it

will conduct a civil rights investigation. >> new here on "action news" a coyote attack in north jersey has people there on high alert. police captured a coyote in norwood after it attacked a police car. the animal has been stone a state lab for testing for rabies. that same animal attacked a man walking his dog over the weekend. the man says he bound to dense near a school meaning there may be other wild canines out there on the loose. police are warning parents to keep their children and small pets inside until they give the all clear. >> 4:54. still ahead in the next half hour of "action news" a developing story. a tornado batter add city in southern brazil killing two people, injuring 100 others forcing hundreds from their homes. >> after months of battling her ex-husband sherri shepherd now officially deemed the mother of the child they had after they divorced. we'll explain.
