that's right the officer was off duty, he was not injured in all of this, police say he had just finished his shift at the 12th district, home walking his dog and this all happened. there were several cars on the block that were shot in the process of this investigators are calling this an steamented robbery. it happened at 11:40 on the 5800 block of malvern avenue. police say the suspect came up behind the off-duty officer out walking his dog. the off-duty officer saw the gun in the suspect's hand and drew his weapon. the suspect took cover behind a car and fled on foot toward up land. law enforcement searched for the suspect in the air and on foot. >> we called out the k-9 unit to search thet's path of travel to see if he disguarded his weapon.

♪ go out and get it ♪ it's a money maker. i mean, i just feel like our children are paying the price for these high stakes tests and their teachers are stressed out about it. so, teachers aren't benefiting. they're not getting information from these tests that are helpful for teaching. kids aren't benefiting because they don't even know what they got right or wrong. they just know that they feel really bad about it. parents aren't benefitting because i don't get any more information about my child. so the only people that could possibly be benefitting from this are corporations who are making the tests and selling the tests.
