landing in buffalo. david kerley is at reagan national airport with the details. >> reporter: good morning, george. this is a mystery this morning. what caused these three people to lose kshconsciousness. the airline is saying it's not what you might suspect. just 40 minutes in the nearly 80 passengers aboard the united express jet realize something is not right. >> you could feel something in the air. something just wasn't right. >> reporter: a passenger begins to lose consciousness. ? she was gray. her color looked awful. i asked for oxygen for her. we got her on oxygen. as soon as she got on oxygen she was alert. came right back. and then i wept back to my seat after she was feeling better they called me right back because the person right behind her passed out. >> reporter: then mary herself starts to feel faint. >> i didn't feel great myself. the flight attendant, same

thing. everybody in the middle of the flight starts to not feel well. >> reporter: thee people in all lose consciousness the. the pilot acts. a descent. sflit felt like it nose-dooifd. the airplane is shaking. we descended quickly. >> reporter: the pilot feared a cabin pressure problem and followed procedure, dropping the plane to get to breathable air. >> it's going to be gate number four. inbound flight unknown medical problem. >> reporter: overnight, the airline says there was no pressure problem and in problem with the plane's equipment. no cockpit warnings. and the fact that no oxygen masks dropped. according to the airline, the pilot made an unscheduled lapding in buffalo, new york in response to a passenger losing consciousness while en route. passengers say they don't believe the airline's

explanation. the mystery and the plane remain in buffalo this morning while the airline and the faa try to sort out what happened. more confusing, the airline originally said only one person lost kshconsciousness. overnight, they said three. all three were checked out. it's kind of a strange one, george. >> it is. let's try to work through it with john nance. you have the faa saying the pilot was responding to a pressure problem. the airline denying that. explain what happened here. >> i think the thing that's most consistent george is we probably had a cabin climbing 10,000 to 11,000 feet. it did not set off the alarms. 10,000 feet is enough to get people passing out. it's rarified atmosphere. >> not one but three people. it seems like the pilot did what he had to do in this moment. >> that's right. when you think you have a

pressurization problem, whether it's showing on the gauge or not, you get the plane down lower. the cabin may be riding at about 6,000 feet normally. something was not right here. >> okay john nance, thank you very much. that wasn't the only scare for passengers on wednesday. a flight from paris to newark experienced extreme turbulence. eventually landing in boston after failed attempts in newark and new york's jfk. several passengers fell ill. two were hospitalized after the plane flew through a violent line of storms. >> that line of storms had 70-plus miles per hour wind in it. this is a tree down in new jersey on to a house. we saw lots of damage. the wind reports that wept all the way from parts to new york down into the mid-atlantic also expanded along the cold front back into texas. look at this picture of a land spout. this is taken from a tractor.

gesture to the camera. ron claiborne joins us now. good morning, ron. >> reporter: good morning, robin. the jury weighing tsarnaev's fate heard an emotional day of testimony. that photograph you're talking about, tsarnaev making the obscene gesture and then the full video of it presented by the defense. the jury that will decide whether dzhokhar tsarnaev lives or dies was shown this photo of him in court, taken three months after the marathon bombings. middle finger extended in an obscene gesture to his jail cell security camera. further proof he's a cool character, unconcerned, unrepentant. in a surprise twist, the defense presented the video the photo was taken from. showing him pacing the the cell preening, and then making the gesture at the lens. the message? these were the antics of a

actually do anything. we use the tutorials. one of the tutorials showed things like how to change the background color in an online test environment and it takes time away from learning math and science and english and all the things that i really enjoy learning. they can't do as much because they have to administer this test on the computer. and that's really one of the worst parts of the test.
