>> reporter: do you believe it's going to be may in like a week? didn't feel like it out here. looking at satellite, there are clouds around, but we'll squeeze out sunshine over the course of the day. it will start out overcast. temperatures are running on the cool side. we're officially holding 40 degrees in philadelphia. but the 30s in almost every neighborhood on the official reporting map array. and when you look at winds in the teens it feels like it's below freezing across the region. i honestly didn't think i would have to put the graphic on the air as of month ago. here we go, we're back in the frozen zone. we have a freeze warning in the northern and western suburbs. if you haven't pulled in the potted plants now is the time. and tonight keep they happen inside. the state of delaware is not officially included in this, but the roast you are.

40 degrees on the storm tracker 6 live app him we'll get in the upper 30s in philadelphia. we'll hit a high of 55 it will stay chilly and windy and breezy. things get better over the weekend, i'll have that call coming up. matt pellman what do the roads look like early on? >> reporter: the roads are getting gradually better. the gladwyn interchange we had a crash that got pushed off to the right shoulder which means the two westbound lanes are starting to move already a 20 minute delay on the westbound travel time with peedz 7 miles per hour. -- speeds 7 miles per hour. parking lot starts route 1 city avenue and past gladwyn. hopefully now that the crash is off to the side, the delay will start to break up. we're watching construction on the vine street expressway eastbound that's out of the way everything reopened. i-95 no huge delays, just building volume. construct is cleared near

quakertown, we're watching the crash 309 southbound at tollgate road. belmawr, camden county 2935 by the black horse speeds in the 30s as you head toward that accident scene. the crash in hopewell township cleared. bear tavern road reopened. cape may downed pole route 9 linden lane. garden start parkway as the alternate. a man was shot and killed delivering chinese food in a philadelphia neighborhood overnight. the man was making a deliver to the hill creek projects in credit antville last night. 12 -- crescentville last night. 12 shots were fired the 49-year-old drove away and crashed into a fence at adams avenue and bingham streets. the delivery man was pronounced dead a short time later. >> we're not sure if he was a

victim of a robbery. preliminary information reveals he is a delivery person for a chinese restaurant. >> homicide detectives are looking for his killer. >> a philadelphia police officer shot on the job is recovering this morning. "action news" reporter, katherine scott is live outside penn presbyterian where the officer is being treated. good morning. katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam officer daniel kostic was assigned to bike patrol in the 19th district. he was taken to presbyterian in stable condition after being shot in the arm. police officer rushed to the west philadelphia block where 19 district officer and married father of two daniel kostic was shot while on duty. around 10:15 officer was on patrol are with his partners around wilten and girard. they went to investigate a man for possible narcotics violation. >> the male backs up, makes a

u-turn they go to follow him and lose him in the area. >> reporter: the officer daniel kostic caught up with the man. >> they have a brief discussion, the male turns and says i don't want to have to do this he fires at officer daniel kostic striking him in his right arm. the officer returned fire and hit the man he was taken to hospital. daniel kostic is in the hospital recovering with family by his side. >> this underscores how dangerous this job can be. >> reporter: police are questioning a person of interest in this case, the condition of the suspect has not been released. we're live in university city, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> okay be katherine, thank you. three philadelphia police officers have been arrested though the charges were announced together, officials say the cases are not related.

>> surveillance video shows the moments leading to a crash between a light link rail train and the car in seattle. the impact moved the car several feet and knocked over a light pole. the 50-year-old driver was trapped inside the car for 15 minutes while firefighters tried to peel away some of the wreckage. he was treated for minor injuries. it's not clear why he turned into the train. nobody on the train was injured. >> reporter: crazy stuff, let's talk about the roads and the trains, as well. we'll start with the roads, 422 eastbound side, the crowds are gathering approaching route 23. 23 is closed in schuylkill township one week of the bridge project in the books. all trains on time this morning. airport regional rail line we get new schedules on sunday.

returned fire hitting the man who was found in the alley on the 5000 block of master. he was taken to hanheman university hospital. a weapon was recovered is at the scene. obviously we do not know what was on this guy's mind to have someone say something like that is highly unusual and fire at a police officer like that it makes you wonder. >> reporter: we know that the officer is in stable condition but police have not released the condition of the suspect. we also were told that police are questioning a person of interest in this case. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you four that. developing this morning philadelphia police are still on the case of the shooting death of a chinese food delivery man. the 49-year-old man's crash at adams and bingham street in crescentville section. the man crashed after being shot in the shoulder on hill creek road. he was hushed to einstein where he was pronounced dead.

police are trying to determine if robbery was behind the shooting. people weren -- people were on board this septa bus when it burst into flames overnights. the smoke and flames gutted the entire back half of the bus, it was running the night owl line at broad and passison. a beloved member of a south philadelphia neighborhood was killed in a house fire. it took crews ten minutes to knock down the flames on the 1100 block of federal street yesterday evening. firefighters were a little bit to rescue -- were unable to rescue the resident frank derossa. >> i never had a brother he was the closest i ever had to brother. >> he leashes behind two children and 6 grandchildren.

cold this morning and the cameras across the region are bouncing a bit because we have winds that are picking up in the teens and 20s and definitely part of the package this morning. 40 degrees in philadelphia. doesn't seem too bad. with the winds out of the west at 21 feels like 30 degrees out there. our temperatures in almost all the other reporting stations are down in the 30s with windchills in the 20s. there's the 20 miles per hour in some cases the winds not as bad but everybody is experiencing the windchills below freezing. definitely feels different out there. we have sunshine building over the horizon down to the south of philadelphia. there's a fair amount of clouds in place locally we're generally speaking going for partly sunny skies overall we're looking fairly bright today probably brighter than yesterday. 39 degrees by 8:00. 46 by 11:00. the high will be 55 by 3:00 p.m. even then you'll have winds gusting as high as 30, 35 miles per hour, definitely a day for coats. as we look at the high
