grandmother hostage. >> we had to leave the premises. >> a 911 call came in that someone was screaming on melon street. a male came to the window and told the officer to get off his property and threatened to shoot him and he was in possession of an ak-47. students at west high school were told to shelter in place and then evacuated. some parents got calls from their children. >> they said we are moving to another school come get us and i'm coming. >> s.w.a.t. unit was called in and a hostage negotiator talked to thompson for about an hour before he surrendered without incident. >> there was no signs of guns but police were getting a warrant to search the house. thompson's brother rushed to the scene when he heard and that his
