you on the walk because i was walking myself. today a little bit warmer and we're going to start out nice and bright. as you can see there's very little pronounced cloud cover out there. overall a lot of sun with a few clouds around. 51 degrees in philadelphia. the number has dropped a bit in the last hour. 48 degrees in wilmington. down 45 degrees in allentown and 41 in millville. as we step out the door to the bus stop looks like we'll probably be by 8 o'clock up around 44 degrees by 6 o'clock, 57 degrees by 8 o'clock. comfortable enough mainly clear and only a little light breeze around. and this afternoon we do bounce on up. by noon we'll be at 70 and then 75 degrees by 3 o'clock. 76 degrees is your high. that will probably slide in there around 4 o'clock and still holding onto the mid 70's by 6 o'clock this evening. if you are suffering from allergies today is still on the high side. allergy-wise we'll probably see it ease back a little bit as we start to get into more of an ocean flow. cooler air comes in and it might be damp on thursday and friday. as we take a look at the wide

providence. they reopened south park avenue at about 1 o'clock this morning. they say crews will still still be out there making repairs to the road surface but the road is passable for you this morning. we're watching some debris in hatfield along bethlehem pike near trewigtown road. overnight construction on the turnpike. and one more work zone is in mount laurel burlington county along 38 westbound by the new jersey turnpike. a lane blocked there for the next half hour. matt. >> thank you matt. breaking this morning the curfew in baltimore just ended moments ago at 5:00 a.m. the city has been under a virtual lockdown since 10:00 last night due to monday night's riots. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is monitoring the situation and joins us live at the big board. erin. >> reporter: hi, matt. this is how the night started out. there were clearly clashes between police and rioters. however the situation was brought under control fairly quickly and that now there's relative calm. we want to show you some positive images coming out of

baltimore this morning that showed the resolve pride and unity that so many residents have demonstrated over the past 24 hours. you can see this video these are some residents that are actually cleaning up from the aftermath. there was so much damage done monday that they decided to come out, hundreds of volunteers and clean up their street after the rioters really left the streets in a state of ruins and the city did answer that call to clean up the city. now, this was a heartwarming image. it shows a little boy handling out bottled water to officers lined up on the street much and this man, if we can switch to that video was using his own body to block rioters from hurting police. he said don't give them a reason. we want you to listen to an exchange between a young man and police captain as the main is voicing his frustration while the captain listen and responds with empathy.

>> three times. the first time took him to the paramedic. when he picked him up off the ground the man couldn't move. he couldn't move. he couldn't move. >> i agree with everything you just said. >> it's not fair captain. >> it's not fair. i can look in your eyes right now and understand what you're saying. i agree with you. >> certainly a lot of community leaders saying this is what needs to happen. there needs to be a conversation and the residents need to be heard. now, as we said the curfew has been lifted and schools are opened today. we should also mention that the baltimore orioles game tonight against the chicago white sox has been moved to the afternoon and will be played without any fans. now, this is believed to be the first game without fans in major league baseball history. however, members of the press will be allowed to attend but some great images coming out of baltimore this morning, matt. >> that's going to be a strange baseball game. here are new pictures in the overnight 150 new jersey state troopers are now patrolling the streets of

baltimore. they are providing operational investigative and logistical support. "action news" was there as they left hamilton township new jerseyed yesterday. governor christie has made them available in baltimore for at least the next 72 hours. >> it's 5:06 now and developing this morning, the search is on for the armed gunman that accused of robbing temple university students in their own home. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live on that scene near temple's campus. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, this happened at a student's home here right near campus. temple did send out an alert to the school community last night letting them know about this armed robbery. it happened here around 11 o'clock last night on the 1500 block of north 13th street. investigators were here for hours overnight collecting evidence and getting interviews. police say an armed suspect got into the house possibly by a back door. police say that suspect took off with cash and marijuana. no injuries were reported.

no description has been provided by police as to who they're looking for in this but there are some surveillance cameras nearby. we haven't heard yet if there's any footage that could help in this investigation but police want to hear from you if you have any tips on who could be involved with this armed robbery. we're live in north philadelphia, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thanks so much katherine. new this morning delaware state police are investigating an assault that happened behind a shopping center. this was at 11:00 last night along the 1800 block of newport gap pike in cranston heights. police say the attacker knocked a man in his 50's to the ground unconscious. he is hospitalized in critical condition. no word on a suspect or a motive. >> a philadelphia charter school principal is free on bail after being charged with aggravated and simple assault. 46-year-old michael reed has a bruised eye himself after what police describe as a domestic incident over the weekend. reed runs the feltonville school of the arts and sciences in the 200 block of east courtland street.

school officials say he's been replaced but would not say whether or not he's been fired. >> turn nothing to david, we are on the road to the 80's later this week. >> yeah, looks like it. definitely in the 70's today. your exclusive accuweather look at storm tracker six live double scan this morning shows you we're dry. taking a look outside good looking morning out there. you can see the sky starting to get brighter on the horizon. very little cloud cover across the region. and temperatures for the most part are similar to yesterday morning with not much wind. 51 degrees in philadelphia. 48 in wilmington, 45 in allentown. 51 in trenton. and down to 53 in sea isle city. satellite and radar shows you that you will need the shades as you head out on the schuylkill expressway or the pennsylvania turnpike. any of our other area highways and by ways. little bit of cloud cover down to the south a bit more up to the north but we're starting out bright and through the day it's going to stay mainly sunny way few scattered clouds around. 74 is your high up in the lehigh valley. lots of sun, warm conditions up there. not as breezy as it was yesterday. and down the shore a little cooler next to that cool ocean

water. a high around 65 in atlantic city. and mostly sunny skies, still pretty pleasant just shaving a few degrees off that high. in philadelphia we'll go for a high of 76 today, mostly sunny, nice and warm, winds out of the northwest at seven to 14 miles per hour. and there's not a whole lot of real cool air up there in the northwest. also we'll get that air down out of the mountains that will keep us warm this afternoon. 57 degrees by 8 o'clock. at 11:00 we'll be close to 70's. we spend the afternoon in the 70's. 73 by 2 o'clock. your high of 76 is late in the day around 4 o'clock and by 5 o'clock we're still holding onto 75 degrees. well its that time of year, got to sort of like blow your nose a little bit if you're allergic to the grass being cut but if you have to mow today is not a bad day. 75 degrees by 5 o'clock, 72 by 7 o'clock, still bright and a bit warm for those of you taking care of the yard. then tomorrow we'll be watching a coastal low that will start to form down to our south, a secondary piece of energy will combine with that

and deepen that low off shore but looks like this is going to be far enough away from us to have a minimal impact. tomorrow there could be a spotty shower in the afternoon, a little cooler and then much cooler on friday as we get the winds coming right in off the ocean and maybe another shower around on friday but again, the bulk of the energy of that is going to stay to our south and east the way things are looking now. your exclusive accuweather 7-day nice and warm, 76 degrees is this afternoon's high. get out there and enjoy it if you can. don't forget the sunscreen. 70 tomorrow clouds with some sun. looks like we'll be mainly dry. can't totally rule out a little afternoon sprinkle or shower and then breezy with a possible shower here or there on friday. the best chance probably down the shore if we do get that low tracking close enough. 59 is the cool high, though, so it's definitely going to be a different kind of day but that storm gets out of there in time for a milder and nicer saturday. that looks like we get up to about 68 for a high. got the union at home at 4 o'clock and the game is right here on 6abc. that should be about the best weather we've seen so far this year down at ppl park so enjoy that contest.

route one. that's lincoln highway. we're hearing that all lanes are blocked at bristol oxford valley road because of some new downed wires there by the pep boys and the. one japanese steakhouse close to sesame place. instead of business one, you probably want to stick with this one, the super pie way here highway. moving 99 both directions no complaints there. we have that debris to avoid in hot field montgomery county along bethlehem pike near trewigtown road. overnight road work on the northeast extension near lansdale cleared out. watch out for some around quakertown and midday construction extra work is coming to 422. eastbound side they're going to be working between arm and hammer boulevard and sanatoga taking on the a lane from until until three that will surely cause delays, something to really look forward to there. on the waze app with the commuter report on this wednesday morning a lot of alerts over in salem county. as we look at them they're all just vehicles stopped along

the shoulder along the new jersey turnpike so no big deal at this point. >> thank you matt. officials this morning say the number of people confirmed dead from the nepal earthquake is topping 5,000. new pictures released overnight show the rescue though of a four month old baby boy. crews pulled him from the rubble alive 22 hours after the quake. also new overnight protesters squared off with police in katmandu as frustrations over government relief grew around 200 people called for immediate help for victims. police said there were some minor scuffles in all of this but no arrests. a worker was killed when two freight trains crashed head on south of roswell new mexico. police say the crew on one train didn't realize the other train was stopped there on the tracks yesterday until it was too late. the crash killed a 48-year-old crew member. two workers jumped off the moving train before it crashed and another crew member was taken to the hospital in stable condition. the national transportation safety board is now investigating. >> phillies rookie pitcher

severino gonzalez couldn't last three full innings in his major league debut. cardinals scored seven runs off gonzalez in saint louis last night beating the phillies 11 to five. the four game series continues tonight with phillies pitcher aaron harang on the mound. the phillies activated domonic brown and immediately optioned him to aaa. the outfielder has been rehabbing an achilles injury. brown has batted just .139 in nine games with the lehigh valley iron pigs. he did not report to the team yesterday and has 72 hours to do so. >> 5:17 now. twitter stock takes a stumble after somebody leaks a company report where? on twitter. >> a new study reveals the startling details of what binge drinking while you are young can do to your brain as you get older. david. >> a similar morning to yesterday. a little cool with temperatures in the 50's in most neighborhoods. so, dress the kids with a jacket. this afternoon it's definitely shorts and t's weather. we'll have your day planner forecast, let you know how warm it's going to get and we'll get you to the airport. we'll talk about where around

. >> looks like hillary clinton will not go unopposed for the democratic nomination for president. vermont senator bernie sanders is expected to announce his candidacy for president today. now technically he's registered as an independent but will he run for the democratic nomination. he's expected to challenge clinton for the liberal wing of the party. >> uh-huh he's not a colonel is he. >> no. >> he's been called other things but not that. >> let's head outside in fishtown this morning. we're looking good, nice and quiet along girard avenue at palmer street by the trolley tracks. not a whole lot of people about in fishtown so far this morning. we have the construction crews, they're awake and working hard on the a.c. expressway westbound between winslow and route 42. right lane and shoulder blocked for about another 40 minutes or so. and if you're riding mass transit so far so good. couple midday adjustments on the patco schedule especially if you're departing eastbound from 16th and locust.

david. >> all right, matt, on the big board we are in the 50's right now. but we are really going the zoom in a hurry. by 9 o'clock about 60 or so. a fair amount of sunshine today with a few clouds digging in at times. 70 by noon, 75 by 3 o'clock and a high today of 76 rather late in the day around 4 o'clock. even by 6 o'clock the mid 70's. a pretty pleasant day. looking across the country most of the action is in the southeast. not a lot going on elsewhere. in fact as you look across the country look at the one spot where there's the chance of severe weather it would be florida today where we could not only see gusty winds from any thunderstorms that form from jacksonville down the miami but also perhaps an isolated tornado. on the big board no major delays this morning but we do have some cloud cover down south in places like atlanta and orlando. if you're headed to disney keep an eye on that forecast and check with your airline. matt. >> thank you david. coming up tonight on "action news" at 11:00 a troubleshooter's case. it is sure to get people talking about what is fair when it comes to company

3:00 this morning. he then crashed it into a parked car a few blocks away at 53rd and say brook avenue. the man ran from this scene. in one was hurt. >> now to say someone has spent 30 years without getting into an accident or getting a ticket is impressive but then to learn that it's his job to drive every day makes it even more impressive. he's a ups driver in madison wisconsin closing in on 30 years with a completely clean driving record. howard kohler started at ups in 1985. he doesn't have nidings on his vehicle, never ever got a ticket. he estimates he's driven about 750,000 miles. that's the equivalents of going from here to the international space station 3,750 times. what is his secret? howard kohler says i play defense. i don't play offense. i always give the right of way. >> very smart. this is just not worth it. let them have it. >> if it works, it works. >> it works.
