good afternoon we begin with breaking news at this hour, 200 pennsylvania state troopers are being sent to baltimore to help stand guard in the streets there. the extra help was requested in the riots that erupted two days ago in the wake of the death of freddie gray. >> they are trying to retain the fragile calm in the city. >> reporter: good afternoon it's early but so far officials say the curfew is off to a good start and the city is stable and they are working to keep it that way. >> a new day and a new call for action. >> we are looking for long-term solutions, from members of the group build baltimore marching to city hall for answers. the concern is the city wide curfew is just a band-aid and not a solution. >> it's working because it's pressure, it's force how long can you maintain the force

ravens is canceling a nfl draftee vent they say out of respect for the nighttime curfew. the mother of a man shot and killed by philadelphia police have filed a wrongful death lawsuit, accusing police of planting evidence trying to prove that brandon tate brown was reached for a gun during a traffic stop in september. >> the city has not commented on the lawsuit, tate-brown's mother is addressing it at a news kofrps happening now. we'll have more on her kmethts later today on "action news" beginning at 4:00. a chester county man is facing murder charges after his elderly father died from neglect. 61-year-old edward o'brien iii was designated caretaker and he

died at his home in 2013, investigators say he was covered in bed sores and later discovered there was evidence to warrant a murder charge and he is accused of stealing $30,000 from his father. from our delaware newsroom a woman has died several hours after she was shot in wilmington last night. artise brown died at christiana hospital and a second woman was wounded and remains hospitalized. john rawlins is following the search for the gunman and will have a live report coming up at 12:30. a small fire disrupted a small fire at delaware high school. officials say that smoke was reported by the carpentry workshop and the staffer pulled the alarm as a precaution, it came as students were doing

state testing and seniors were getting their caps and gowns. >> investigators say the fire started in air locker room and there was just minor damage. a police officer crashed while responding to a reported robbery, the cruiser slammed into the guardrail on cruise town road in the bustleton section of philadelphia. the seventh district officer suffered a head injury and possibly a concussion. some temple university students were robbed during a home invasion and an armed suspect broke in on north 13th street the thief took cash and marijuana but nobody was hurt. the campus police sent a warning to all students as a precaution. the power is back on at the former revel casino new owners confirm that electricity has

vermont senator, bernie sanders will seek the nomination later today. he describes himself as a democratic socialist. and is out spoken about inequality and climate change. five of the candidates for philadelphia mayor shared their thoughts on jobs and workforce development in the city, philadelphia works a nonprofit that connects employers to workers hosted this forum. marissa marie bailey joined them. jewish activists in philadelphia are waging a protest against controversial ads running on septa buses that criticize hamas and islam. >> it reads, jew hatred, it's in the quran. the freedom initiative paid to

the parents of missing british girl madeline mccann they sued the man for liable after alleging the mccanns were involved in their daughter's disappearance they have always maintained their daughter was abducted from a hotel room in portugal. they have sided with the mccanns

and banned any new sales of book. and now more on the landing of a gyro copter on the capitol lawn a few weeks ago. the head of the faa testified this morning saying that the gyro copter is indistinctible from other aircraft. police are looking for five puppies stolen in an animal rescue van, they were being taken to their new home in minneapolis yesterday. someone jumped into the van and drove away. she says the puppies need to eat every five hours and is concerned for their safety. they have implanted microchips that could help police track them down.

david with a check now of a gorgeous accuweather forecast today. >> it's absolutely beautiful out there, stormtracker 6 live double scan showing you we are rain free and here is a picture we love to show you when the weather gets nice channel 6, 6 abc zoo balloon they have that tethered and ready to go and hopefully we'll take rides in that soon. as we take a look at the current temperature man is the number roared. we started out in the 50s this morning but 71 right now in philadelphia really feeling toasty winds out of the northwest at 12 miles per hour. and a lot of 70s across the region, low 70s, 71 in reading and 71 in millville, down the shore a little cooler in places like sea isle city, trenton currently at 69 degrees, your

winds not all that strong 12 miles per hour in philadelphia right now single digit winds coming in from wilmington and trenton and you can shuffle these around like always and sometimes in the single digits and sometimes in the low teens. that is all we'll get wind wise. all of our major and minor roadways. despite the fact that we have clouds popping up it's bright for the afternoon 74 is your high and lots of sun and warm up in the lehigh valley and as we take a look at the shore a little cooler along the coast and the boardwalk in atlantic city only 65 this afternoon, mostly sunny and cooler and pretty darn nice, and in philadelphia 76 degrees and lots of sun and warm and that is above average for this date. and winds from the northwest running 7 miles per hour. and we dip to 54 under partly

cloudy skies and a bit cool but that number is a bit above average and you'll note the winds die down overnight and for the evening rush hour, no big problems other than you need the sunglasses bright and warm and 76 by 4:00 and 74 by 5:30, and i expect we'll be in the low 70s, a nice evening for a walk, and tomorrow things start to change and we get a coastal low pressure center that begins to develop and joined by a secondary low as it deepens off the coast thursday into friday. it looks like this will produce rain around the east coast and the center of that is off the coast and a slight chance of a sprinkle or shower and a better chance on friday and generally the idea with that is the low itself is far enough away that the precip is not a big deal and the ocean flow is cooling us down as we go into friday in terms of rain, future tracker 6 is not showing that rain making
