they called the death of miss brown a tragedy and hopefully the police and community can work together to find those responsible. >> thank you john. the mother of a man shot and killed by philadelphia police has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city. brandon tate brown was pulled over for a traffic stop and his family claims they planted evidence to make it appear he was reaching for a gun. they determined that the police acted properly and decided not to charge. a philadelphia police officer was hurt in a crash today while responding to a robbery call in bustleton the seventh district officer struck a guardrail on cruise town road just before 5:00 this morning,

the officer suffered a cut to the head when the airbag deployed. he was being treated for knee pain at torresdale hospital. it has taken a long time but the district has charged a man with the murder of his father. live at the chester county courthouse is "action news" reporter, eva pilgram. based on the charges this is one despecificable crime. >> edward o'brien weighed 167 pounds when he moved in with his son, he only weighed 130 pounds when he died. tonight his only child his son is charged with murder and theft. edward o'brien iii is facing manslaughter and murder charges in the death of his father. he was suppose to be caring for his father in their home.

>> he put their father in the back bedroom to rot. >> o'brien's father was sent to a facility near the collingswood home, and he pulled him out saying they could not afford it. >> the next day they checked in on the father because he needed acute 24 hour care, that is when he moved his dad out of knowledge and into his home in new jersey the dad had congestive heart failure and was suppose to be on medication. >> he was covered with human waste. >> he had died from neglect. >> police say that o'brien stole about $30,000 from his father. >> at the end of the day what we often see in these cases is that the parent is just not dying fast enough and someone starts taking money and not caring for their parent. >> the attorney released this statement, in 2011, his

police in trenton are investigating how and why a 4-year-old boy was left on a school bus for six hours yesterday, we get that story from new jersey correspondent, nora muchanic. >> i am beyond livid.

only identified as a driver named bill and an aid named denise. and they have not confirmed if the driver and aide are fired but they were not on the bus within they arrived at school. >> you rely on them to get their kids to school. that is their job. >> the district takes safety seriously and tyler's safety was in jeopardy the district is reviewing melissa holly's request that her son be moved to another bus route. there is good news here students at an elementary school in west philadelphia will soon be working with new textbooks the foundation of philadelphia is given an impact award to saint lima's school it will be used to buy books for students ftd first and second grade.

there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.

allentown 75 and wilmington 73 and at the shore in the 70s earlier this afternoon and now the sea breeze has kicked up and knocked the temperature down into the 60s, satellite 6 along with action radar showing we are dry now and there is one impulse moving through the great lakes and another surface low moving off the carolina coast these combine and bring a coastal storm by friday and still we'll get a direct hit and the easterly flow and a seasonable night a mild night. millville 50 and reading 49 thursday a decent day, 70 and a mixture of clouds and sunshine and with this impulse to the west, an isolated shower is possible and the region will be dry. and the easterly flow pulls in the clouds and 61 in philadelphia, and also the possibility of a couple of showers mainly we'll be dry on friday. the big impact will be the clouds and cooler temperatures
