has once again kept the streets calm. the order will remain in place through the weekend. there's new information about the arresting officer in the freddie gray case, a lieutenant involved in the arrest has a past of mental health issues. he was hospitalized for this back in 2012 and during that episode sheriff deputies confiscated his personal and official guns. the van that transported gray made several unscheduled symptoms for unknown reasons. yesterday the second prisoner in the vehicle dismissed a report in the washington post-it reported that he heard freddie gray intentionally hurting himself. on camera he said he heard little noise from gray. accordingaccording to reports a wounds on gray's head matches a bolt in the back of the van suggesting that's where he suffered the injury that would kill him one week later. let's turn to katherine scott live at dilworth park where philadelphia protest he recalls took a stand in

baltimore. good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam the protest started yesterday afternoon and lasted into the evening. it was largely peaceful. there were a handful of arrests and no serious injuries were reported. the protest stretched into the night. hundreds took to the streets in center city to show solidarity with baltimore in the wake of the fatal injuries sustained by freddie gray while in police custody. many hoped all would remain peaceful in philadelphia. >> we want to show that we have compassion for the city of boaterrerly love. we feel for the all the families of all these victims and we want the violence to stop. but there were tense moments police horses were spooked as protesters tried to march through them. officers tried to hold them back, soon protesters began throwing bottles and objects apt police, several arrests were made. >> it got a little bit dicey around broad and vine. there were people who wanted to get on the highway and frankly

that's not safe for them or the motorists. >> reporter: three people were arrested in yesterday's protest but all were released overnight. live in center city, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> okay, thank you for that katherine. new this morning, a fire injured one person in kingsessing overnight. philadelphia firefighters quickly knocked down the flames. it happened around 2:30 on the 1200 block of south 50th street. the fire victim has non-life threatening injuries. govenor chris christie acts like a presidential candidate even though he is not a presidential candidate. he will attend fundraising engagement in virginia and maryland as he considers a 2016 campaign. chrisly is likely to face questions on bridgegate. an david wildstein is expected to plead guilty.

there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.
