we should be for this time of the year. levittown, 44. south jersey, gandys beach 53 degrees. glassboro, 45. cinnaminson, 44. satellite and radar it should be smooth sailing for the runners, the broad street runners. maybe if you're not a big fan of running in the sun wear a hat and put on sunscreen. otherwise perfection conditions out here. 10:00 a.m. 65. by lunchtime we're sitting at 75 degrees with a lot of the sunshine out there. we're forecasting a high of 80 degrees which would be only the second time this year. it will be nice and warm out here. the only negative in the forecast is this the pollen count just like yesterday will be through the roof. today and tomorrow it pulls back for tuesday, because of the showers that moves in and washes everything clean and climbs back

up there come wednesday. with a perfect week weather wise that's the only issue out there is the pollen. otherwise it's fantastic. get out there and enjoy yourself. if you can't do it today tomorrow is equally as nice. when i come back we'll talk about how warm it gets in the seven-day forecast and how long the pattern lasts. >> the blue cross broad street run steps off in north philadelphia in one had your. "action news" will be there from start to finish. >> tens of thousands of runners will sweat it out in a tradition that keeps getting bigger and better. >> reporter: let's go live to katherine scott at the start of the broad street run. >> reporter: about an hour to go before the race begins. we're seeing runners getting close to the starting line and let's take a look at what's happening at broad and fisher. you can see there's a lot of activity going on the runners

are getting closer, there's a prerace stretch happening about now, so the runners can get ready for this ten mile run down broad street. that ends at the navy yard. this is a popular race for runners, they love the support of the crowds, spectators line the course, there are bands playing and live entertainment. people are cheering. there are a number of good viewing spots. north broad i by temple university. broad and spring garden. west side of dilworth park. and south broad including the avenue of the arts. of course there are first timers, as well. i spoke to one as about her goals. >> not being at the end, i would like to be in the middle

pack. >> how did you train for that. >> reporter: a lot of 5ks. i did the bridge run. it was a rougher winner, i wish i had done more training, but getting out and returning in the neighborhood. >> reporter: fun and nerves as we gear up for the beginning of the race. about an hour from now the starting line at broad and fisher, you can see more and more runners starting to gather. some of them are warming up, we've seen some stretching as they get ready to go. race is at 8:00 a.m., make sure you're along the course, the because runners like that. septa says 40 bus routes will be detoured. express serve have i up and running. we have all the routes affected

now officials call the scam scraping. they use pictures from legitimate postings and fraudulently post them on craig's list. no audio. i used to be able to have students come in and we do a social studies project and it was connected to language arts sidney educated the whole child. the testing shouldn't be in the driver's seat. i should be in the driver's seat. i should be directing my students in a way that's helping them make connections not just for an assessment but for life.

suffice it to say energy is high. the atmosphere fuels the runners. there are a number of good viewing spots for spectators, among them, north broad by temple university, the west side of dilworth park by city hall. packer and jackson anywhere along broad street you'll see the runners run it by. this is a popular lace. they love -- popular race, i spoke to the blue cross ceo and how much it's it's become a tradition. >> we're happy that people are so happy to be out here for their health and what the city has done, the police, how they prepared for the day. you have 40,000 people running in a straight line down broad

street for ten miles it's quite a bit of work. >> reporter: the race will get underway in 30 minutes. some people are milling around, some people are taking a looked like off while they can before that ten miles. others are jogging up and down getting a good stretch in doing all this stuff to getting ready for the race that's going to start very, very soon, have fun to all the runners and 6abc will be covering it. back to you. >> the broad street run will generate almost $7 million for the city of philadelphia. most of the money will go to bookings for the hotel rooms. the city will get another boost when pope francis comes to town in september. adam joseph will be running. wilmington, 5-mile an hour winds, beach haven, 6 miles per hour. satellite and radar all is quiet across the mid atlantic and the northeast. the only trouble spots high plains minneapolis omaha and des moines. this area here i could see heavy thunderstorms here, but for everybody else, high pressure in control. bermuda high setting up shop off the coast of the coral -- carolinas, that pumps in all the warm weather. 9:00 a.m., 58 degrees, lunchtime, 75. later this afternoon we'll top things out you saw the 79 quickly. right around 79, 80 degrees today, and then tomorrow it gets warmer, we're up to 84 degrees for the high, the model has us
