teen age mother are hospitalized tonight after the woman tossed the child off a bridge into a river in allentown. rescueers responded quickly and jumped into action and saved their lives. sunday night the big story on "action news" is the rescue of an infant from the lehigh river after investigatesers say the 19-year-old mother threw him in. it appears to be attempted murder-suicide allentown hamilton street bridge. annie mccormick is live at lehigh valley hospital in allentown with the latest. annie. >>reporter: and walter, sarah that 19-year-old brother mother and 1-year-old son were taken here to lehigh valley hospital cedar crest. we're told by police they were taken here in serious condition after a dramatic rescue by two allentown police officers. >> 911 calls from witnesses came into police 1:45 in the afternoon sunday officers lined the banks of lehigh river

responding from east and west sides of allentown. horrified onlookers watched as 19-year-old woman pshd a stroller with 1-year-old son on to hamilton street bridge and according to police did the aunthink aboutable aattempted muddier suicide. john liciaga drove up moments later. >> when i got here they were telling me that some lady threw the baby over the bridge and she jumped off. >> the 19-year-old made it out of water to embankment and collapsed and the baby was 700 yards downstream and was in the water for at least 4 minutes. officer joseph ianetta pulled him from the water and then began cpr with officer john leonard. it's a miracle mom and baby are alive. >> i hope they both make it that's all i hope.
