security officer in texas. this had happened where a cartoon contest was taking place of depictions of the prophet mohammed. >> reporter: this was a controversial event, they didn't have any threats leading up to it. shots fired outside a free speech event in garland texas. just before 7:00 p.m. authorities in the dallas suburb say two gun mern -- gunmen were killed after opening fire on a security officer. >> he is dressed like a police officer, how much he is unarmed. >> reporter: garland officers saw what was happening and fired back hitting and killing the men at the scene. this happened outside the new york-based american freedom

defense initiative that would award ten thousand dollars for the best car -- cartoon of the prophet mohammed. >> we evacuated businesses that were close by, we evacuated the event center by putting in garland school buses and taking them away from the area. >> reporter: at this time, the bomb squad is working on the car, it's a tedious process. once they clear the scene they will look at the bodies and identify them and see what their motive was as is for the security officer he was treated and released from the hospital. developing overnight, a woman was hit and killed by a car in bear, delaware, it happened before 1:00 a.m. on the 1900 block of pulaski highway. police say the woman was crossing the web lanes when she was hit.

the driver stopped nearby. a dramatic rescue in lehigh county a 1-year-old baby boy and teenage mother are recovering. police say the woman tossed the child in the river and jumped in herself. annie mccormick has more details. >> reporter: 981 calls from witnesses came into police around 1:45 in the afternoon sunday. officers lined the banks. lehigh river responding from the oohs side and west side of allentown. a 19-year-old woman pushed the stroller on the bridge and did the unthinkable in an apparent attempted murder suicide. >> i saw the stroller halfway down the sidewalk. when i got over her, they were telling me some lady threw the baby over the bridge and then

she jumped off. the baby was 700 yards downstream and in the water for at least four minutes. officer joseph inetta performed cpr and brought the infant back to life. police say from the bridge to the water is a 52-foot drop and it's a miracle they are ray live. >> reporter: police say the officer had 13 years on the force, police say the mother and child were taken to lehigh valley hospital in serious condition. they have not released the name of the mother, they tell us it is an on going investigation and no charges have been filed. reporting in allentown, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> and police are investigating the discovery of a body in the delaware river in camden. county police tell "action news" children walking along the river near 29th and adams avenue

were the ones who found the remains around 3:00 p.m. sunday afternoon. no word on the identity of the body found or the cause of death. a little girl is recovering from being struck by a bullet while sitting in her parents car in west philadelphia. at first they thought she had been hit by shattered glass when in reality the bullet pierced her skull. no arrests have been made. two former aids to governor chris christie are expected to make their first court appearances since the bridgegate development. they face 9 criminal counts in connection with the lane closures on the george washington bridge. david wildstein pleaded guilty on friday. governor christie maintains he had no knowledge of the plot. the mayor of baltimore lifted the citywide curfew put in place a week ago. the city is trying to return
