dadly -- deadly fire. and they are trying to determine what caused the fire. and in coatesville, dann what is the latest on this? >> jim this is tragedy in every sense of the word. a family gathered to grieve the loss of a loved one when grief was compounded by more grief, and now three more family members are gone. this is what is left of the expanded mobile home on hill road in the rural township. charred wood and siding, a relative telling family members that seven family members gathered after the grandmother passed away last night. a neighbor said that the neighbor told her that a fire broke out on the porch just afternoon. >> she said her two aunts and cousin were killed in the fire because they couldn't get out through the hole that the uncle and the children got out of in the back of the house. and she said that the uncle tried to rip open an opening,

but they refused to jump. >> two adults and two children made it out safely. fire rescue crews say the wind-swept fire spread quickly and later found the three woman dead inside. >> the weather conditions played a role. a small wood fire extending from the house fire. >> a mobile home you see those things go up like that i have seen them go up before. and boom, they go up. that was well gone before the fire company got here. >> they said the woman who survived seemed shocked her relatives did not get out. >> she broke down and said i don't know why they didn't jump. >> we are praying for the loved ones and families there that have to endure this tragedy. >> now the names of the three women killed have not been released yet. the red cross is assisting the family with food and clothing

and other support. firefighters were busy across the tri-state area tonight. in springfield township delaware county, this home on the 200 block of hemlock lane caught fire at 5:30. golfers at the nearby rolling green golf club ran to warn residents that they saw smoke and everybody did get out in time. fortunately nobody was hurt. we don't know yet what caused the fire. a fast-moving blaze kept first responders busy in the hunting park section of philadelphia tonight. one firefighter was injured while rescuing a resident who suffered burns from the blaze. an "action news" viewer shot this video of the flames shooting out from the house on the 3800 block of north 9th street. officials believe this fire started in the kitchen. earlier in trenton, flames and think smoke poured from a home in the 800 block of outing quentin avenue. the blaze spread to several cars parked in the rear and damaged a neighbor's house. nobody was hurt here.

authorities are still looking for a cause. and four wildfires in burlington county new jersey have been contained. and another is almost completely surrounded. the brush blazes were small and the state forest service believes all five were deliberately set. the suspected arsonist or arsonists have not been adentified. the red-flag fire warning expired three hours ago and cecily tynan now looking ahead to a good chance of rain. she is tracking the changes and she'll let us know if it will be enough to quench these dry conditions. there are new developments in the story of a 2-year-old child who had to be rescued from the roof of a twin in the frankford session of philadelphia. police intend to charge the boip boy's mother and another woman. and kenneth is it live and has the full story. >> jim, sources say charges are expected against the mothers who left their children alone,

leaving that toddler to climb all the way out onto this roof. and walk dangerously close to the edge. a smartphone captured the terrifying moments. a 2-year-old boy on the roof of a three-story frankford home in his diaper with neighbors yelling at him to stay put. >> i hear a man outside yelling "stay back" and i come outside and i look and there's a baby on the roofer. >> i'mronically it played out on leiper street. and the boy called out of the window, walking around on the roof. and seconds seems like an eye turnity as the firefighters went to work carefully placing a ladder to get to the boy. >> the baby was reaching out for the ladder that is the scariest apartment reaching out to it and everybody thinking he would fall. >> and the neighbor who watched it all unfold held his breath as a firefighter was finally able to reach through the open window and yank the child to safety. >> what was going through your head and heart as you saw this

kid up there. >> this is crazy. i can't leave i am seeing this. i can't believe it is happening. where are the parents? >> good question. they say the boy and another toddler were clearly left alone while their mothers were next door. both women who live in the home were hand cuffed and taken away by detectives who also searched the house. the boys transported to st. christopher's hospital for children to be checked out after the harrowing experience. and they say both mothers are expected to be charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another person. the names have not been released and the children are in the custody of authorities. kenneth moton for channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. they gave the "all clear" tonight at the high school following the evacuation for safety concerns. after they found a suspicious note students were sent home early. and evening activities were

canceled. but authorities say the school will be open on time tomorrow morning. learning more tonight about the two men that opened fire and killed outside of a contest for cartoons in texas. in fact the gunmen were no strangers to authority. and going live to the satellite center and "action news" reporter sharrie williams. >> one of the men, 30-year-old elton simpson was under the watch of the f.b.i. since 2006. he was actually placed on the no-fly list after he allegedly tried to fly over's for jihad. and the over suspect is his roommates. and searching the home of simpson looking for clues. the barrage of bullets as the suspects armed with assault rifles were out gunned by a texas traffic cop and his

pistol. happening in suburban dallas before 7:00 sunday night at this event center hosting a contest for cartoons of the profit mohammed, deeply owe fevensive to muslims. >> and kudos to the over 300 cartoonists want-to-be war toonists who took the risk and submitted cartoons. >> and outside, simpson and the other man pulled into the parking lot in a dark-colored sedan but were blocked by a police officer. the two were wearing bullet-proof vests and heavily armed when they got out of the sxar -- car and started shooting. and with his pistol he shot both men dead. >> he did what he was supposed to do did a very about job and probably saved lives. >> and the live steam showed the moment inside when they heard gunfire. security moved them to a secure location and no one was hurt.

simpson sent this tweet just hours before the shooting with the #texasattack pledging his allegiance to isis. and the texas authorities say it is clear that the suspects went to that event with hopes of injuring people and definitely shooting them. but they only managed to shoot one person a school resource officer. that person was injured in the leg and are said to be doing just fine tonight. and in the meantime with the f.b.i. tracking one of the suspects for years, questions are swirling similar, how they got this far in the first place. life in the satellite center sharrie williams for channel 6 "action news." >> all right, thank you. back in this area the northeast extension was shutdown for hours today because of a deadly crash. chopper 6 hd was over the scene in lower macungie township. at 12:45 in the northern lanes before the lehigh valley accident. traffic at a stand still after an earlier accident with a box

there were more tense moments today in baltimore when a shot was fired during a police chase. police say they were trying to

arrest a man who was spotted with a gun when he took off. the suspect apparently dropped the gun and it went off. nobody was hit and the man was taken into custody. but not before a crowd of protesters came out amid reports that this was a police-involved shooting. all of this happened in the same area as those big protests last week. dozens of new york city police officers paid their respects to a fallen comrade today. saluting officer brian moore as his body left jamaica hospital. the 25-year-old died today, two days after being shot while trying to stop a man suspected of carrying a gun. the suspect, dimitrius blackwell is behind bars and facing chargeses. moore is the third new york city police officer to be killed in the line of duty in the past five months. two major physician in judge's bridgegate scandal pleaded not guilty today. governor christie's top authority at the port authority,

he and the deputy chief of staff kelly, stayed they were innocent of charges that they were involved in politically-motivated lane closings at the george washington bridge. kelly's lawyer did not rule out serving governor christie with a subpoena. the lava lake that is overflowing at hawaii's volcano exploded yesterday. and these are the spectacular images of how it happened. a crater wall partially collapsed and the rocks slid into the lava smashing the fist-size chunks of lava over the edge. and today they measured a small earthquake nearby. there has not been full lava years. and sending ash a mile and a half in the sky today. the volcano is the most active in central america and began his
