another day in the 80s and we have had a good amount of sunshine but we are keeping a close eye to the skies for possible storms lets take a live look outside sky 6 hd from our temple university camera clouds are dominating the skies now and they could bring rain, cecily tynan is at the big board with the latest from accuweather. hi sharrie, we could use the soaking rain but we'll just have a few showers. at 6:00 this morning we had bright sunshine across our viewing area and high thin clouds to the north and west and as we head through the day the clouds are invading and we have one downpour, just one over burlington county it's crossing route 70 right now and is moving through red lion and tabernacle and heading towards 72 you can see how this is diminishing in intensity. no lightning just a downpour and that is beginning to fall apart.

a wider view on double scan live showing what we have going on it's a cold front continuing to press to the south overnight. most of this shower activity is missing us but ahead of this front we have winds out of the south, another warm day philadelphia currently 83 degrees and millville 82 and wilmington 82 dropping off to 77 degrees in allentown and the sea breeze is kicking in with temperatures temperatures only in the upper 60s. a spotty shower or thunderstorm and most areas are rain free, not good news for gardners, it stays mild this evening, right around day break the wind shifts from the east-northeast and ocean temperature this time of year in the 50s and that pulls in cooler air still temperature as above normal tomorrow but don't get uses to temperatures in the 70s i'm tracking the return of 80s in the accuweather forecast. >> okay warming back up thank you.

in less than an hour part of eastbound avenue in the east falls section will shut down for planned road work, they run from warden drive to henry avenue then begin at 6:00 tonight and end at 3:00 p.m. on friday it's part of an effort to fix city roads that were worn away by the winter weather, westbound traffic remains open. with that lets get a check of the "action news" traffic report tonight. lets go live to matt pellman at the traffic center. >> we are in the throws of construction season there is road work everywhere including that spot in east falls on mid land avenue one of the problems where do you go instead. school house lane, construction there too right by philadelphia university and then this afternoon we had a crash along the lincoln drive and that was not a great option either and that crash is gone now and things are looking better on lincoln drive and on the boulevard not looking hot and a broken down vehicle in the left

fire at at dallas event but were shot dead by a police officer stationed outside. the attorney that once represented one of the gunmen says he was dedicated to his cause. >> was trying to convert people, he thought that islam was a way of life and should be a way of life for most people. >> according to police elton simpson plans to travel overseas and join isis, but called off the trip when his travel partners were arrested. >> there are new details on the death of david goldberg mexican authorities say that the 47-year-old goldberg die of a head injury and blood loss after falling off a treadmill it happened at a resort where the family was staying and goldberg's brother found him and called for help. two-thirds of the injuries that occur while exercising occur on

city and 56 degrees in allentown, future tracker showing at 8:30 lots of clouds and an embedded thunderstorm popping up and most of the region is rain free as we head through the overnight hours still a lot of clouds and the possibility of a spotty shower best chance is south of philadelphia as we head through the afternoon everything drys out and a mixture of clouds and sunshine and can you see the winds out of the east-northeast that is off the ocean and that will bring us a cool down for one day with temperatures in the 70s before we get back up into the 80s on thursday. in the meantime it's early in the season just to the north and west of bahamas, you can see the winds are beginning to circulate. that could mean development of a tropical system and the national weather system is giving it a 40% chance of it developing and

in the fishtown section a young woman was abducted and assaulted there it happened last friday at 5:30 on east york, this surveillance video shows a 1990s minivan in the area, believed to be the suspect's vehicle the 22-year-old victim told police she was walking alone and was approached by a man matching this sketch and the man drove her to another location by gun point and sexually assaulted her and dropped off the victim and fled. detectives are asking anyone that knows someone matching this sketch to call 911. attorney general, loretta lynch, was sworn into office the day of the baltimore riots today she travelled to that city. she met with leaders and officials and also the family of freddie gray, his death led to

"action news." >> thank you karen. a stretch of the northern new jersey turnpike remains closed because of a serious crash involving a tractor trailer. this burned out shell of the rig is all that remains near the southbound lanes of interchange 11. the tanker was hauling gas when it overturned and burst into flames, it took firefighters more than 40 mines to put it out. the driver was flown to the hospital with serious burns. a fast moving fire has moved 2 dozen people from their homes in reading burkes county tonight. chopper 6 hd was overhead while firefighters doused hot spots they say that the blaze started in one residence and quickly spread. walter perez is live now with more. >> reporter: rick, we'll take you to the scene and you can see here the torch remains of this section of row homes that went up in flames at 7:30 this

morning. neighbors say the flames turned quickly but no serious injuries were reported. >> it was at 7:30 this morning when her children told her they could smell smoke and it was moments later she realized the home next door was on fire. >> we were looking through the alley and that home was engulfed in flames. >> it took two hours before they got this under control but not before they called in reinforce manies. >> we called third alarm because of the extent. fire moving south and west. it can be seen for miles and six homes were damaged and at least three were destroyed and 15 to 20 people are homeless. room says that all of her family's personal belongings are gone. >> lost all of my two son's

repair shop in bethlehem they stopped him and found an illegal substance in the bag and they searched his home and found a scale and packaging materials. he is now held on $150,000 bail. police say the man wanted for stealing shrubs from a woman's home is now under arrest. police have picked up the s&p identified at joseph medecki. the pom pom shrub was in front of her home for 15 years. police are looking for the man that robbed the port richmond laundry mat, this is the 3300 block of frankford avenue, this thief walked in on sunday and approached a 36-year-old female employee and pulled a gun and demanded money and the victim went behind the

as we take a look at the almanac, 83 degrees is the high temperature, 14 degrees is the normal, and 5 degrees shy of the record, 90 degrees set back in 1928. and upper 70s for chestnut hill and here at the station on city avenue northeast philly 81 degrees a couple of showers that passed through northern philadelphia county at 3:30, 4:00 this afternoon. a batch of showers did pass through the lehigh valley and earlier than that temperatures 37 degrees and the sea breeze kicking in and only 62 in beach haven, 66 on the boardwalk and sea isle city, coming in at 66 a cold front that is draped to the north and that front is draped to the south overnight and with the front nearby even once the sunsets we could see a scattered downpour or thunderstorm pop-up and not everyone will see them and if

there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.
