>> braking now on "action news" a.m. shootout in north philadelphia levers one man dead and two others injured. >> also breaking a new bombshell about the germanwings co-pilot is confirmed. what a report says he was doing before he reportedly crashed the jet on purpose. >> search intensifies for an armed man who kidnapped and assaulted a woman who was walking along a fishtown street. good morning, 6:30 now on this wednesday may six. let's head to karen rogers. she's got your commute and dave murphy has what you can expect in accuweather. good morning. >> good morning. we're off to a clouds and sun mick across the region as the sun starts to get up over the horizon. take a look at storm tracker six live double scan. we have a couple of sprinkles and showers coming through lancaster county, south western chester county you and up toward allentown. thunderstorm out to the north and west of harrisburg. as we take a wide view we're looking at that clouds and sun mix with some of those showers probably coming through a little bit later in the morning rush hour. by this afternoon we're probably back to a miss of clouds and sun.

67 degrees in philadelphia currently the numbers actually jumped over the last half hour. 62 in wilmington, 66 in allentown and 67 in trenton. not as warm today but still pretty comfortable kids. 67 degrees right now on your disarm track six app. we may dip again to 66 by 8 o'clock but then we're in the mid 70's during the afternoon with a high of 76 around 2 o'clock. we also have the pollen counter still in the medium high range but a word to the wise, it is going to be jumping back up into the red zone. the high range thursday friday and saturday. the trade-off there lots of sunshine and decent weather otherwise. when i step inside we'll talk about those showers and have a look at future truck track six and she if we can't blow some of them up before the end of the rush hour. wouldn't that be fun. >> that would be fun. looking live on the schuylkill expressway want to update you on this disabled vehicle, it's out here blocking the left lane. this is eastbound at montgomery drive. and here's what's new. now we can see we've got a tow truck already on the scene. we're watching live as they're getting ready to hook this up right now. there's also police just out of this shot here so we can

see more emergency workers on the scene trying to pull this guy out of here stuck on the schuylkill eastbound blocking the left lane. so we're already jammed from city avenue to montgomery. meanwhile we've got a jam on i-95. no unordinary problems just your traffic jam. i-95 southbound jammed from academy to cottman and betsy ross bridge to girard so kind of the usually spots. weather conditions just a little damp in some areas, a touch of fog. no big weather problems affecting the commute just yet. here in trevose bucks county we've got an accident here brownsville road at philadelphia avenue just been pushed off to the side they're waiting for a tow truck to clear that accident scene. an accident on welsh road and north wales road causing a problem here and here's some more information on the northeast extension accident. it's a tractor-trailer that struck a barrier. it's on the shoulder. both lanes are opened but southbound past lansdale starting to get busy out there with a bunch of accidents matt. >> keep us posted. breaking news here. detectives are questioning two men who were both wounded in a

shootout in north philadelphia overnight. a third man was killed. police found that man with multiple gun shot wounds lying near sixth and clearfield streets. nearly three dozen shell casings littered the street. two parked cars were shot up. the two survivors are being held under suspicion of weapon possession. police recovered three guns at the scene. >> and we have breaking new developments on a story we've been following all morning long. stunning new details about the pilot accused of crashing that germanwings jetliner in march on purpose. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live now in the satellite center. she's got that update. good morning erin. >> reporter: good morning tam. we have been telling you all morning about that anticipated report from french investigators that would outline those disturbing details that andreas lubitz may have practiced descending on an earlier flight the same day he crashed that germanwings plane into the alps killing 150 people on board. well, we just have learned that that report has been officially released in the last half hour confirming

those details. now, investigators have confirmed that lubitz flew to barcelona the same day as the crash on an earlier flight and conducted a "controlled descent that lasted for minutes and for which there was no an nautical justification." lubitz suffered from severe depression in the past an computer found in his home showed he used the internet to search ways of committing suicide in the days leading up to the crash. prosecutors found torn up sick notes at his home showing he should not have been have flown the day of the fatal flight. again investigators have just couldn't slimmed in the last half hour through that report that that german wings co-pilot did practice his descent earlier that day before he took that germanwings plain down into the alps killing all 150 people on board. of course "good morning america" will have more on this story and you can keep updated on 6abc.com. for now we're live in the sat center erin o'hearn channel6 "action news." tam. >> thank you erin.

and now to a developing story, the entire front of a vacant home came crashing down in south philadelphia overnight. you can see right into the front rooms of the house. it's located on the 1400 block of south bevere street. let's take a live picture from the scene. the city put that fencing up around it because it was such a dilapidated property but now you can pier right into it looking right into those rooms with more of this facade giving away early this morning and we're working to confirm if any of the other homes around it that share any walls or anything else have also been evacuated. >> 6:35. detectives now have a face to show you in their search for the man who kidnapped app woman at gunpoint then sexual assaultd her. katherine scott is live outside the special victims unit with this clue for our viewers. >> reporter: matt detectives here are working this case. they are hoping someone recognizes a sketch of the man who they say sexual assaulted

a woman in physician turn to at gun points. a sexual assault at gun point. this is a sketch of the man police are looking for. investigators believe he's between 21 and 25 years old about five-seven to five-10 and 160 pounds. he has brown hair and a narrow strip of hair on his chin. the attack took place friday morning around 5:30 in fishtown as the 22-year-old victim was walking along the 2000 block of east york street. >> the male was on foot. he pointed a gun at her. he forced her to go into a minivan. >> reporter: he then drove her to an unknown location and sexual assaulted her at gun point. police say she was in the minivan for at least a and hour before being dropped at almond and boston. the suspect's early 90's dodge or chrysler minivan was caught on surveillance video. >> what's unique is she said inside the minivan the rear seats, the rear seats had been

removed. >> reporter: and anyone with any tips is asked to call the special victims unit. we post-ed a number for you on our web site at 6abc.com. we're live in hunting park, katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> katherine thank you for that. and doctors will try to remove a bullet today lodged in an eight-year-old girl's head. police think she was hurt in a road rage shooting. aniyah curry has been at children's hospital since saturday night's shooting in west philadelphia. the family had double-parked their car outside their home on the 5400 block of haverford avenue. aniyah and her little sisters were in the back seat. police say it appears the family wasn't moving fast enough for the driver of a black sedan who fired off a shot. that bullet struck aniyah in the head. >> i don't want anybody to think this was minor. this was a serious incidents and she still is in pain right now and she could have died. >> she's eight years old. she didn't deserve it. she didn't. she's a good child. >> police believe two people

were in the black sedan. they're looking for surveillance video and for tips. >> turn now to accuweather and dave murphy. >> storm tracker six double scan picking up a little bit of precipitation in the western suburbs. there's lot more up to the north in the poconos. let's go in tighter. we had a small shower in oxford pennsylvania and it is pushing through southwestern chester county. there you go thanks a lot guys. and chadds ford, newark, delaware and wilmington might pick up some of that. this is all we've got early. there's another one farther to the west in lancaster county and i also wanted to point out that we do have some heavier cells to the west of reading and some of this stuff getting close to allentown as well. so it's not real pronounced yet but we're starting to get back into some spotty cells and by end of the rush hour they could be more pronounced. let's take you outside and we have sky six and there's a beautiful picture of the sun trying to break from behind some of the early clouds and that's what we've got across the region right now a clouds and sun mix and obviously a little cloudier north and west

where we've got those showers. 67 degrees right now in the city, not bad. winds now out of the north-northeast at 8 miles per hour starting to roll in off the ocean but fairly light and overall it feels fairly comfortable out there. future tracker six showing you how as we go toward the end of the rush hour there's a chance of some showers and maybe i'm a rumble of thunder coming through from the west but then we get into the latter morning hours and lunchtime and it's really more of a clouds mixed with some sunny breaks and just a couple of spotty showers around. and that's the story for the rest of the afternoon. clouds, some sun and just a very spotty shower through most of the day. your temperatures today are rolling. not quite as high as yesterday but 66 by 8 o'clock, 74 by 11 o'clock, 76 is going to be your high today at 2 o'clock and then by 5 o'clock 72 degrees and of course we've got your always on day planner there if you want to take a little closer look at all of that. 69 degrees is your high in allentown today, 70 in reading, mid 70's in philadelphia and wilmington. down the shore little cooler, upper 60's but still not bad. clouds and sun overall with just a chance of a spotty

shower. tomorrow high pressure sets up off the coast. that will swing those winds around from the south and that's going to bump us back into the low 80's with a high of 81. we are also keeping our eyes on the development of a possible low pressure center down the coast that could actually develop enough subtropical characteristics where it could become a tropical system. if it gets a name it would be ana -- n-a. looks like this will go straight out to sea and not have a major impact on us. right now the national hurricane center has only about a 20 percent chance of it developing into an nah over the next couple days. it's what we're watching in the tropics and it's starting to be that time of year. 76 is today's high, clouds some sun but dry most of the way. tomorrow the sun reemerges with a high of 81 and friday and saturday for the aberdeen dad vail regatta it looks great. mid 80's both days an fair amount of sunshine. you'll need your sunscreen if you're going rogue or watching that event and then very warm on mother's day a-high of

>> ♪♪ >> staring into the sun from sky six. it's 6:44, 67 degrees on city avenue. wonderful shot of the sunrise from our sky six live camera. >> we're heading towards the 7 o'clock hour. karen how is it looking for people trying to get to work or school? >> slow on the schuylkill expressway. this is the schuylkill at montgomery drive. we had a disabled vehicle right here, had been blocking the left lane. it just cleared so that's better news but you're already jammed on the schuylkill eastbound from belmont to montgomery. we could see here a 37 minute ride from the blue route to the vine, so good size delay out there on the schuylkill expressway and there you see speeds of about 12 miles an hour with that disabled vehicle that just cleared. also clear and we had a problem with 95 southbound in

penn's landing. we had a disabled vehicle there that's cleared. east falls aborts ford avenue we had an accident there that cleared. on 9516 miles an hour at cottman, 13 miles an hour i-95 southbound at girard. so, we do still have a problem northeast extension southbound past lansdale an accident where a tractor-trailer just struck into the barrier there. it's on the shoulder so it shouldn't be impacting traffic too much but with that tractor-trailer out there you got to see if they may need to block a lane when they pull him out. do you understand wires in delaware county elwyn closed near new middletown road. stick to rose tree road for an alternate. storm tracker six live double scan we've been watch fog are a few showers but not a whole lot there in philadelphia south and east a.m. couple sprinkles near lancaster and up to our northwest near pottsville and allentown, some showers out there that we'll be looking for today. a little bit of fog is an

issue. 10-mile visibilities at philadelphia international airport but 2.5 in atlantic city 2-mile in millville. 1.3 in wilmington and near zero in lancaster. in some spots visibility is an issue tam. >> thank you karen. a police camera captured the terrifying moment that a tree toppled i don't ton two boys playing in a park. this happened near boston on monday. one child remains in the hospital with serious head injuries. thankfully relatives say he is making progress. the other boy is heading back to the doctor for additional testing. authorities are keeping that park closed until they can check the stability of all of the remaining trees. and more new video shows a california man making a strange beer run. he crashes his suv into a convenience store on sunday then gets out grabs a beer and speeds away. passerby witnessed the crime followed the driver and called police. officers caught up with the suv and the suspected thief. he is now behind bars. >> brand new here an std outbreak has hit a small texas

farther to the west by harrisburg that's going to gather a little bit more and come through toward the end the rush hour with perhaps a rumble of thunder but mainly just showers and then most of the afternoon looks dry. 64 degrees right now in quakertown, 63 in pottstown 64 in chester and in center city across the river in south jersey a lot of low 60's so these are comfortable numbers same thing in delaware and winds are light this morning. if you're doing errands you might want to wait until after the rush hour is over. not only because of the improvement in volume of traffic but also there is that chance of some morning showers. you get up to about 10 or 11 o'clock and you're warming up, mainly dry 75 degrees by 3 o'clock and your high today is actually going to be 76 patriotic degrees at 2 o'clock this afternoon. tam. >> okay, thank you david. new here on "action news" the legendary musician prince is planning a rally for peace in baltimore on mother's day. the concert will promote healing following violent protests over the death of freddie gray. organizers say prince will be joined by several industry super staples at the royal farms arena on sunday.
