>> milton street had a similar response today saying both stop and frisk and the commissioner have to go and ramsey was asked if a new mayor was elected other than mr. street or mr. williams would he stay on if asked and he said diplomatically that would not be something done in public. >> thank you. two childrens are in the hospital after being hit by a van in the logan section of philadelphia, the accident happened at 1:15 on broad street south of wyoming, and police say that a woman was holding the hands of three small children they were crossing midblock when two of the children darted out into traffic and the 2-year-old suffered injuries to the head and a 4-year-old broke his leg and the driver did stop and police are not filing charges.

a contractor working in the 1200 block of elston road struck a gas line now and haverford township fire department was called in along with peco to contain the leak and nearby homes were evacuated and fortunately nobody was hurt. and then there was this happening today in cheltenham. a water main break was sending water shooting up into the air at the 600 block of ashburn road it left 10 neighborhood homes without water service. dann cuellar is live at the scene, the guise senior gone but what about the status of the repairs. >> well, repair crews managed to excavate and remove the area that burst and now they are in the process of installing the new section but it will be a while before they restore water service to people on this block. this is what it looked like this

afternoon shortly after 1:30 when the water main burst. >> when i came out to get my mail all a sudden i saw the burst it looked like a volcano. >> we heard noise and then boom, and there was water coming out. like a fountain big fountain coming out. the gusher spews rock on the street and on a neighbor's driveway on ashburn road. >> the water came bursting out to the top of the trees chopper 6 hd came from above with the gusher reaching 30 plus feet into the air. >> it made a lot of noise and workers said it took almost an hour to shut off the water. >> are you without water? >> no water. >> it's going to be a while before they get it back on? >> yes, probably. >> and right now ten homes remain without power aqua

that confession and a shooting this afternoon forced chester high school into lockdown and a 16-year-old was take and to the hospital with a bullet in his thigh. lets go to 10th and concord in the city of chester and sara bloomquist. >> reporter: jim, tonight chester detectives are interviewing witnesses trying to figure out exactly what happened and who pulled the trigger we know that 16-year-old was shot in this alley and several other people were around at the time. the sound of gun fire in this neighborhood prompted chester high school and another nearby school to go under lockdown. following the shooting investigators looked for clues in the area of concord avenue and butler street in chester, a 16-year-old student at chester high left school early and went to an alley here and got into an argument with a group that convened behind the row homes and ended up with a gunshot

follow yours. there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.

towards the weekend, high pressure moves to the east plenty of sunshine and 80 in philadelphia and cooler at the shore with temperatures around 70 degrees, this high pressure will keep the low pressure that is developing near florida down to the south, and this does have a 60% chance of becoming a tropical storm and you look at it, it's not all that well defined and all the convection is near the center and it could be the first tropical storm of the season. the exclusive accuweather forecast back to the 80s tomorrow, 80 degrees and mostly sunny skies a nice day friday the heat is on and 85 degrees and saturday 85 for the aberdeen dad vail regatta put on the sunscreen and sunday for mothers day it's hot, 87 degrees and notice more humid as well. still sweating on monday 87.
