with more on the investigation. >> reporter: always quiet out here right now, but it was a wild scene last night. two teenagers shot on the 800 block of south street and a short time later another young man was shot at 8th and bainbridge. >> it's terrible. >> reporter: upsetting news for people who live nearby. it happened at 1:15. police say two boys 16 and 17 were walking on the 1800 block. they told police a group of young men started arguing and one pulled a gun and started shooting. both teens were shot. >> both victims were transported by police to jefferson hospital they are in stable condition suffering from gunshot wounds from the legs. >> reporter: shell casings littered the ground while police investigated that shooting more gunfire erupted a block away. police found a 19-year-old man lying in the street with a

gunshot wound to the leg. >> reporter: the bullets were flying as thousands packed south street for a night on the town. people who live in the neighborhood say they try to avoid south street on saturday night. >> i know it's crazy and people get drunk it hadn't seemed dangerous per se. >> it's kind of a tragedy. i hope it's more of a one time thing. it's not anything i'm horribly worried about. >> reporter: nearby residents say south street is a party place and they would hate to see the shootings ruin it for everyone. >> for the people who come to philadelphia to visit philadelphia. college students coming you want it to be a good reputation of the city. >> reporter: not good last night. >> definitely not. >> reporter: well, the police believe the shooting incidents maybe the result of bad blood carried from another neighborhood. so far they don't have any suspects. live on south street.

david henry, channel 6 "action news." >> david, thank you,. police are searching for a gunman after a man was shot in the head and killed in port richmond. it happened in the 1200 block of east atlantic street. officers heard gunshots and found the victim outside the car. he was rushed to temple university hospital where he died. police have not released his name and no arrests have been made. three people are in custody in mississippi after two police officers were gunned down in the line of duty. a state law enforcement spokesman said marvin banks and joany calloway are charged with two cowrchlts of -- counts of murder. banks' brother is charged as an accessory. >> we heard gun shots, it was like 6 loud gunshots, and i told my husband something is wrong. >> reporter: the officers have been identified as 25-year-old

liquori tate and 34-year-old benjamin deen the first hattiesburg officers to die in the line of duty in 30 years. >> working smoke detect heers played a role in the lives of saving a bucks county family. the action cam was in bensalem where a house fire broke out at 5:30. smoke detecters activated a fire system that alerted the fire department. two people and two pets escaped unharmed. one person was treated for smoke. in new jersey, a family in gloucester county escaped their home after it caught fire overnight. firefighters were called to the 200 morocco of west high street in glassboro at 11:30. when they arrived they found a family of three outside the burning home. a smoke detecter alerted the family to the fire. nobody was injured.

the cause of the fire is under investigation. "action news" has learned the identity of the woman who died after she was hit by a duck boat in philadelphia's chinatown section. she is 68-year-old elizabeth karnicki of beaumont, texas. she was looking out on a electronic device when she walked out against the light and was hit and killed the driver will not face charges. the tragic accidents in drexel hit was a 17-year-old boy he was hit in the family's driveway by his own father. police say the teen's father lost control and crashed into the garage. a neighbor said he heard screaming and called 911 and ran to help. >> someone who was dressed in light blue nurse scrubs, i don't know if she was related to the family. she was trying to, look like,

resuscitate the boy. the father was holding him in his arms and he feels laying in a pool of blood. >> police have not said if any charges will be filed. super typhoon has made landfall in the philippines. 1400 people moved to safer grounds to get out of the way of the powerful storms. the philippines army handled much of the evacuations. coastal areas are exposed to floods and storm surges. the storm has winds up to 115 miles. it has stranded five thousand passengers in the area. rescue crews in nepal are suffering setbacks after the mass ebb ive earthquake. avalanches have brought the searches to a hat. government officials say the avalanches are making work too

lancaster and reading. mid 60s dewpoint it's muggy. you get into the 70s it's awful. mid 60s translates to muggy. it's in the middle of the scale it's not terribly bad but it's not as comfortable as it's been, either. watch what happens tomorrow, the numbers get worse low 70s in south jersey and delaware. upper 60s everywhere else. tuesday, it will feel uncomfortable, as wellle dewpoints pull back a little bit, they are in the mid 60s here, tuesday night into wednesday that's when the cold front finally swings on through shoves all the muggy air out to sea. wednesday will feel fantastic out there with lower temperatures and lower humidity levels and abundant sunshine. here's the latest on tropical storm ana. there's myrtle beach. it's turning toward the right. the outer bands are fizzle out.

neither of which will have a direct impact on the delaware valley. they will pass on pie by. here's ana down here, a huge line of showers and thunderstorms pushing through the heartland of the nation. this is what spawned 60 tornados yesterday. looks like they will see rough weather out there now actually. thousands of lightning strikes more than likely we'll see a redevelopment on the backside of this as the low pulls through. if you're traveling in the midwest or the heartland of the nation, thunderstorms winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, good bet you'll see large hail and the possibility of more tornados, so again it's this area under the gun. in the high plains and northern rockies you'll see snow you'll see 6 to 10 inches coming off the one to two feet they picked up yesterday. temperatures in the low 80s combination of sun and clouds, one or two see a brief passing
