"action news" speaks with the victim and her mother about the frightening ride. >> sent to the sidelines the nfl comes down hard on the new england patriots and its biggest star. we'll break down the deflate gate punishment. >> the continued humidity for now. let's go to david and karen, weather and traffic. >> a little bit muggy this morning. take a look at satellite and radar. we had a cold front coming from the west but we talked about how it was largely going to fall apart and it has done that now. just a couple of real light sprinkles to the west, most of which will not even survive into our region so we're looking at some open spaces,

some clouds, severe weather out to the west is now done and we are going to look at some changes today. temperatures this morning 67 degrees in philadelphia. 62 in allentown. 63 in millville. doesn't look too bad temperature-wise but when you consider the dewpoints are still well above 60, in the mid 60's in much of the region it's still a bit on the humid side as you step outside this morning. and that goes for the bus stop as well. temperatures on the bus stop this morning under partly cloudy skies 67 by 6 o'clock 70 by 8:00 a.m. still a bit muggy but as we go through the day a couple of changes in store. first of all it's going to be very warm. 70 by 8 o'clock, by noon 85 and then we get a high of 80 degrees at 3 o'clock. strong blustery winds building but as the numbers go up the humidity is actually going to drop and it will feel more comfortable across most of the region as we get later into the after and noon evening. karen rogers big changes for tomorrow with temperatures going (whistle). >> i like the sound effects.

later on the traffic will go downhill but not yet. we're off to a good start because it's too early and not too many people out and about. construction crews have left the scene on i-95 southbound. they were blocking the two right lanes up ahead. here we're looking live near penn's landing and we see in problems at this point on i-95. on the big picture tacony palmyra bridge we had the overnight construction there. it has since cleared. things looking better. spruce street will close today and that's between 34th and 40th from 6:30 this morning to 8 o'clock and that's because of it is penn's moveout day today and tomorrow. you'll have to stick to walnut or sansom instead. we have a water main break that's causing a problem here and we're watching it at pine town road near highland avenue so look for this one in upper dublin montgomery county and on the turnpike eastbound near fort washington we had some construction there that cleared but the water main break is new so watch for that. we've got the water company on the scene trying to fix. that we had an accident in east vincent township in chester county. that has cleared now as well so you're good to go early

this morning matt and tam. >> thank you karen. and this is breaking this morning. an earthquake struck nepal overnight killing at least four people and injuring many more and causing buildings to collapse. it comes less than three weeks after a quake devastated large areas of that himalayan nation. the u.s. gs says the earthquake was centered about 50 miles east of kathmandu. this is near mount everest. that's where it was. in a remote area of eastern nepal near the border with china. a 7.8 quake hit nepal on april 25th. that one killed more than 8,000 people. we'll have full report just ahead at 5:30. and also this morning police are looking for suspects in the attack on a school bus in west philadelphia. this happened just as special needs students were heading home from the school of the future. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside of southwest detectives. she's got the very latest. good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, students had been heading home when this all happened.

now, detectives here at the southwest division are investigating this case. they're hoping to be able to release some surveillance footage to help identify those behind them. >> boy threw a brick through the window and hit my daughter. >> reporter: 20-year-old special needs student courtney clancy had been riding on this school district bus in west philadelphia yesterday. suddenly a rock came crashing through the window. courtney was hit by the broken glass. >> i can't see out of one eye. >> reporter: there were nine special needs students from the school of the future on the bus that had been approaching 47th and aspen when at least two juveniles ran over from this rec center and started throwing rocks and construction debris. >> just driving down the street and hear the bricks hitting the vehicle and then he hears people screaming so he stops the bus immediately he does the rye thing. >> reporter: southwest detectives were on the scene and quickly discovered these surveillance cameras. courtney was taken to the hospital where doctors brushed

broken glass out of her eye. >> i want the boys prosecute i really do. >> reporter: and courtney will be back at the hospital today to see an eye specialist about her eye. if you have any tips southwest detectives want to hear from you. live in southwest philadelphia, katherine scott channel6 "action news." >> thank you. tom brady will be spending the beginning of the upcoming football season watching the games at home on tv. the nfl handed down harsh penalties against him and his team for deflate gate. erin o'hearn is live with what the team stands to lose. >> reporter: tom brady is taking a big hit for this controversy. you handed a four game suspension next season without pay. but he apparently has no plans to stay down the his agent making it clear he will appeal the decision. now the 243 deflate gate report one pretty. it stated that it was more probable that a tom brady was

at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of involving the release of air from patriot game balls. and the nfl told brady your actions clearly constitute conduct detrimental to the integrity of the public confidence in the game of professional football. brady himself has said very little about the nfl's report but the new england patriots chairman said the report was based on circumstantial evidence. the patriots are also being fined $1 million and are losing two draft picks. two staffers accused of deflating the game balls are being suspended indefinitely. now back in january brady denied guilt after the balls in question were used in the afc championship game against the indianapolis colts. brady denied guilt. during the nfl's investigation though officials say he was not totally forthcoming. >> he impeded the progress and the process of the investigation. this will be part of his legacy as well.

>> the nfl is serious about not messing with the integrity of the game. >> reporter: now in light of the tom brady spot baseball couples up for security for the game balls this season. an mlb representative watches the baseballs when the clubhouse assistant carries them from the umpire's room to the field. tam, back to you. >> okay, thank you erin. it's 5:07. investigators say an arsonist set the blaze in kensington that killed one man and injured others. the blaze at this boarding home on kensington avenue near willard broke out yesterday morning. sources say an incendiary device was used to ignite that blaze and that an accelerant had been poured on the stands. a 30-year-old man was killed when he jumped out the window and a 21-year-old woman is in extremely critical condition with severe burns. her young daughter another child and a man suffered minor injuries. fire officials say the home had no alarm system or smoke alarms. >> ♪♪ >> happening today, the location of the barack obama

presidential library will officially be announced. sources leaked earlier this month that the library will go to the university of chicago where the president once taught. the other finalists were the university of hawaii and columbia university. also happening today philadelphia international airport will host a job fair to fill more than 600 openings. it takes place at the liacouras center. businesses looking for employees include airlines restaurant retailers. >> when you go on an interview you want to look clean and sharp. this morning you might want to put a -- >> it is still a bit on the muggy side this morning but that's changing as the day goes on. storm tracker six live double scan right now shows us we're dry, maybe a sprinkle out to the north and west but that's looking like it's going to miss us. as we take a look outside we have some clearing over philadelphia. and this morning i expect a mix of sun and clouds and probably pretty much sticking with that kind of look above

as we go through the day. 66 degrees in philadelphia currently, 64 in wilmington, 62 in allentown, 63 in millville. these aren't bad numbers but it is still a little bit humid. of course you felt that during the day yesterday and it's still around. had some severe weather late yesterday out to the west of us but that is all done look at how the cold front and its rain just really falls apart as this stuff pushes farther east from its upper level support farther out to the west. so, we are as a result looking at a mix of clouds and sun a little bit later this morning and very little, if any, precipitation today. up in allentown mainly clouds and sun less humid later in the afternoon. very warm, though, a high of 86 and it will still be a day where if you're out doing something you'll want to keep that cool water going. 78 degrees the high at the shore, a little warmer than it's been in recent days. windy but very nice down the shore. and in philadelphia, we're also going for a very warm afternoon high of 88 degrees, a mix of clouds and sun. sticky in the morning but less humid as we go through the

afternoon and the winds will build during the day too eventually gusting as high as 30 miles per hour out of the southwest. that stronger wind that's actually going to miss some drier air from aloft and lower that humidity. 70 degrees by 8 o'clock. 82 still feeling a bit muggy by 11 o'clock. by 2 o'clock 87, starting to feel more comfortable. windy this afternoon with that high of 88 around 3 o'clock and by 5 o'clock down to 86 degrees. if you're headed to the ballpark tonight phillies teaming up against the buckoes again, 82 for the first pitch and 72 in the ninth inning. breezy down at the ballpark tonight. tomorrow we're looking at that frontal boundary off the coast. drier air shifting in from the northwest and that's going to cool us down. today's high 88, tomorrow 70 degrees is all you'll see. your seven-day forecast, 88 today, 70 tomorrow, a lot of sunshine tomorrow with windy conditions and then sunny and nice on thursday, 74 and friday partly sunny and 76. if we see rain on friday it's probably not until late at

. >> ♪♪ >> 5:14. hello everyone. live with philadelphia international airport on sky six. a little muggy right now getting better later. >> let's go over to karen rogers see what your commute is looking like. good morning. >> it is sticky as you step outside right now. let's see what it looks like on the roads. we're clear, no problems in chadds ford delaware county. we see light volume and it's moving just fine on 202 at baltimore pike. if you're coming up from talleyville or concordeville kennett square you have no issues this morning. on 202. we do have this water main break here. this is in upper dublin township montgomery county. watch for pine town road near highland avenue. you may see some restrictions in this area. we have crews on the scene trying to deal with that one. some construction here on the northeast extension northbound between lansdale and

quakertown blocking the right lane as well as southbound near lansdale blocking the right lane so crews are out there today. on your commuter traffic report not too many complaints out there in voorhees, in stratford, along the black horse pike in new jersey. evesham road, route 42. we're get nothing reports of problems through the region. it's early and no big weather related problems. we have 6-mile visibility in trenton, 3-mile visibility in millville with some of the moisture out there in the atmosphere you're noticing that this morning. but nothing major affecting the traffic in the suburbs just yet. tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. take a look at this. a bolt bus smoking on the side of a highway didn't stop traffic on the massachusetts turnpike but this did. when it blows up in dramatic fashion. the explosion knocked windows out onto the road and then flames shot out from all sides. this happened right at 5 o'clock during the busy evening rush hour. the emergency response then snarled traffic for two hours there in boston suburbs but all 46 passengers had gotten off the bus before that blast.

and the number of deaths attributed to a serial kill interconnecticut has more than doubled. police announced yesterday they found four sets of previously undiscovered human remains. cadaver dogs found the remains in a wooded area behind a strip mall in new britain the same area where bodies of three women were found in 2007. authorities did not say who the killer is or if that killer is in custody. police did say there is no current threat to the public. watch it's a phillies outfielder herrera hits his first major league home run in the ninth inning. no we're not going to see it. but it was not enough to prevent another loss so maybe it's good you don't see it. the pirates won this game four to three. the four game series at citizens bank park continues tonight. pitcher sean o'sullivan will be activated from the dl to start. third baseman cody asche has been sent down to aaa lehigh valley. ryne sandberg says it's so ashy can make the transition

>> more than 200 jobs in the atlantic city school district are off the table at least for now. the atlantic city school board rejeck antidepressant proposed budget last night by a vote of six to four. a state monitor presented the

budget which included 226 layoffs. the monitor says he'll review additional options to plug the budget shortfall. >> take you outseed and take a look at traffic. let's see what it looks like right now. looking live on the tacony palmyra bridge scheduling to up at 5:45. still seeing traffic move for right now. i don't think for much longer. head to the betsy ross bridge instead. the ben franklin bridge the look from camden the ongoing construction blocks the right lane westbound. patco will run on an adjusted midday schedule so watch for changes today, dave. >> we're in the 60's right now across the region karen. still a little bit muggy as you step outside and staying that way through the morning. 76 degrees by 9 o'clock and by noon 85, probably still a bit humid but the humidity levels are actually going to drop off as the afternoon goes on. it will be warm with a high of 88 degrees at 3 o'clock and getting rather blustery with those winds, 85 by 6 o'clock but at least things improve humidity-wise as we go through the afternoon. wide view across the nation, we've got some rain and

perhaps some thunderstorms bubbling up across the coast. as we take a look at the chance of severe weather today, looks like mainly a along the gulf coast a little bit out in idaho and then a pocket from about raleigh durham over toward cape hatteras. a little bit of wind gusty thunderstorm possibility in new england as well. as far as large hail, that's mostly along the gulf coast. tornado chance that's mainly along the gulf coast and maybe in carolina and only a small chance of that today. taking a look at our local travel cities, no major airline destination delays in our most frequently common destinations but boston does have a little bit of rain this morning, so maybe you check with the airline there tam. >> thank you david. coming up today on "action news" at 4:00 we are counting the calories of some of your favorite ballpark food. i don't want to know. do you want to know? health reporter ali gorman has a preview. >> reporter: you don't have to ditch your diet at the ballpark. teams are now getting in the game of healthy eating.

>> a woman from burlington county a facing charges accused of selling tickets to a fake sheryl crow concert. investigators say kelly bryan sold rough 300 tickets at 60 bucks a piece. they say she took a thousand dollars deposits from vendors and made fliers soliciting money for sponsorships. the sham show was supposed to take place on august 15 at the flying w airport in medford but the airport released a statement saying it had no involvement in the promotion of the concert or in any efforts to sell tickets. >> morning buzz time. talking about these mirrors they're trying to develop
