engineer for tuesday's night's amtrak wreck that killed 7 and injured 200. he was identified as brandon boxin from queens, new york. it was going 106 miles per hour as it approached the curve that has 50 miles per hour. >> moments before the derailment, the train was placed into engineer induced breaking. >> reporter: it only slowed the train to 102 miles per hour. the surveillance footage captured the train speeding a few hundred yards before the derailment. seconds later you see the bright flashes of light as the power lines came down. he has been an engineer with amtrak since 2010 and a conductor four years priority prior to that. his lawyer said he doesn't remember what happened. he previously worked as a clerk

kenneth moten spoke to an employee in university city that lost it's brand new chief executive in the crash. >> reporter: the words from family of rachel jacobs, the ceo killed in the amtrak derailment. she was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister wife and friend. she was devoted to her family and pursuit of social justice. we cannot imagine life without her. her colleagues searched for her looking at hospitals feeling desperation. technology exists right now that automatically slows down speeding cars. when the track 188 left the 30th street station, the posted speed limit was 80 miles per hour. at the curve where it crashed 50 miles per hour. official say the train was going 106. the hitech system would have determined the right speed ahead of time and made the correction. the system is installed throughout most of the northeast corridor for amtrak. this section of track was due for the upgrade later this year. >> based on what we know right now we feel that had such a system been installed in this section of traction this accident won't have occurred. >> just yesterday a republican-led house rejected funds for amtrak. they said we want to see the

child off first and the second one before jumping on the train. for some reason he forget a second one a sleeping baby girl. the father said in a later statement it was one of the worst daysful his life. a masked man wanted for attacking several people with a hammer earlier this week was shot by police officers yesterday after swinging the tool at a female officer. the suspect struck the officer several times when the partner saw all this going on, he gave chase shooting and wounding the suspect. the suspect is the same man who attacked four people on monday. >> now for the first look at business at the big board. theives are using the starbucks mobile app to steal money from people's credit card and pay pal account. it's connected to personal financial accounts. starbucks believes the problem is customers using weak pass
