limit. >> moments before the derailment, the train was placed into engineer induced breaking. >> reporter: but the ntsb said hitting the emergency brakes only slowed the train to 102. this surveillance footage captured the train speeghtd at the top of the -- speeding at the top of the screen seconds later you see bright flashes of light as the power lines came down. bostian has refused to talk to investigators. he's been an engineer with amtrak since 2010 and conductor priority that he perceives vowsly worked as a clerk for target. his lawyer said he doesn't remember what happened. >> he was pulling into speed restricted track on speed restricted track and the next thing he recalls is waking up and looking for his cell phone. >> reporter: ntsb said bostian has been through a traumatic event, but what they are doing is waiting a day or so before
