just moments before the train accelerated and crashed in port richmond on tuesday night, killing eight people. the at this point the ntsb says they have in the found any video showing something hitting the window, and amtrak 188 engineer brandon bostian does not remember anything hitting him. but just before amtrak 188 derailed, a septa a train and a amtrak acela train both reported being hit by something. the those incidents happened, near the derailment site. an assistant conductor on amtrak 188 recalls her engineer talking to the septa engineer about the scare on the septa a train. a amtrak 188 engineer was interviewed again yesterday. >> reported no fatigue throughout the day or any other illness throughout the day. he felt fully qualified and comfortable with his equipment and he reported no problems with his train handling. the engineer encouraged us to contact him further again,

contact him again if we needed anything else, so again we found him to be extremely cooperative. >> bostian's lawyer says operator suffered a concussion and does not recall anything, past north philadelphia. the train lead conductor remains hospitalized, too injured to be interviewed. on capitol hill house transportation and infrastructure committee will look at railroad safety policies and ways to improve them. democrats and republicans have been at odds, over the amount of funding for amtrak, the committee has not set a date, for the hearing. and the first time, first responders, talked publicly, about responding to the amtrak tragedy. >> people screaming for help and you don't necessity which way to go, a included of black dust. >> he took one side he took the other side. he took that car he took that other car. you give me a hand, you give me a hand. civilians that were involved, red shirts over there red shirts over there. and those not injured.

co-worker tested positive for the the illness. health department officials say the the server has not return to work since the the diagnosis and there is little to no risk of public health. blue bell creameries is laying off nearly 40 percent of its employees this is fall out from the listeria out break that prompted a recall of all of its products, nationwide. the the plants have been closed since that recall began in april. earlier this week the the company met with health officials to outline steps it will implement to resume production. blue bell ice cream has been linked to three deaths and has sickened others. penn state university says that it it was the victim of a cyber attack. school officials say hackers stole user names and pass word issued by the college of engineering in two separate attacks. the fbi reported breach to penn state last november. the university says 18,000 people had their personal information, stored, on the targeted computers, as well. however, there is in evidence

"action news" reporter dann cuellar has more on the search for answers. >> reporter: the fbi it was examining the windshield of the amtrak train 188 now located in the secure area in delaware. windshield was damaged during a crash but there are a couple of round fractures that the fbi has been asked to focus on. >> windshield was shattered but there is particular damage there that we want them to

look at for us. >> reporter: this development comes after a conductor on the train reports hearing the engineer talking on the radio to the engineer of septa trenton line train number 769 that it had been struck by an object. it had to make an emergency stop but there were no injuries. that was at 9:10 p.m. five minutes earlier a southbound a sell train had been struck by an object in the same area as well. the conductor on board amtrak train 188, now tells investigators this. >> she believes she heard her engineer say something about his train being struck by something. >> reporter: surveillance video obtain by "action news" shows train speeding by and then few moments later a at 9:21 flashes of light where train derails. engineer, brandon bostian did talk to ntsb investigators. >> we found him to be extremely cooperative. >> reporter: the engineer was asked if he recall having a a conversation with the septa engineer about being a hit by a project tile. >> did he not recall anything of that sort but there again he does not he reported that he does not have have any

recollection of anything past north philadelphia. >> reporter: fbi has been fanning outlooking for surveillance footage that might prove helpful to the investigation. meanwhile with the wreckage removed amtrak has been moving full speed ahead to restore services between new york and philadelphia, hoping to do so by tuesday. in port richmond, i'm dann cuellar for channel six "action news". a passenger on that southbound train that was hit by some or the of a object is speaking out about the impact. kam decide of ocean city, maryland said he heard a loud banging sound and say a circular pattern of shattered glass in the window. that happened when the train was just outside of philadelphia. he said that he heard it was likely a rock or a debris but he said whatever it was it hit with force. >> it was a pretty substantial shatter mark and with a thickness i was pretty surprised how deep, you know that projectile was. >> when the train stopped and

strong storms caused a a roof of a dog training facility to collapse in corpus christie texas. the dogs were not hurt. storms also left behind, flooding. >> we're seeing all kinds of crazy weather throughout the midwest and southwest. >> to think how quiet these systems started out. the lately it has been really busy out there and it looks like another round of severe weather. for us back home we could see thunderstorms later this afternoon but not anticipating severe weather. we are not anticipating wind of 60 plus miles an hour or hail or anything like that but you could see a good downpour with these thunderstorms developing later on. right now in center city we have cloud cover overhead. we are sitting at 61 degrees. dew point is still comfortable at 55. that number will climb.

well, now a new study find that it may help improve your memory. researchers in spain filled more than 400 seniors for four years. two groups followed the mediterranean diet, one included olive oil while other included 30 grams of nuts per week. the third followed a standard low fat diet. both groups on the mediterranean diet were found to have better memory and thinking skills then those on the low fat diet. mediterranean diet mostly consists of plant based foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, fish, and healthy oils and nuts. and if you are suffering from allergy symptoms you are not alone. the it is one of the worst types for allergy sufferers because two pollen seasons are overlapping. both tree and grass pollen are in bloom. the the key to relieve is prerenting symptoms. health reporter allie gorman has more on three new treatments that might help. >> 22-year old morgan kay used to have severe allergies. >> i would be walking to class and my throat would be burning, a and my eyes would
