hold off most of the moisture until late in the day. all this shower activity here this will pass on by but later this afternoon, as we get the the day time heating humidity starts to increase, more thunderstorms start developing. one or two could be on the stronger side. accu weather says expect sun and clouds today after four or 5:00 this afternoon be on the look out for a pop up storm. turns increasingly more humid throughout the day, 85 will be the the forecast high. speaking of those storms, here we go most of the day is dry. this is 6:30 showing pop up storms a across western suburbs. racing east into the city and south jersey by tenor 11:00. these storms could impact the phillies game later this evening as well as preakness steaks in baltimore later this afternoon. i will have details with the seven day forecast when i come back in a bit eva. >> thanks, chris. developing right new this morning a man hits the jackpot at sugar house casino but his luck ran out when police say he was followed home, and then robbed at gunpoint. police say victim won about

$12,000, gambling overnight. he left the casino around 5:00 this morning and headed home to the 2800 block of south mildred street in south philadelphia. police say as he got out of his car he was held up at gunpoint by a masked man. victim handed over the money and his cell phone and then called the police. officers say they were able to track down the suspect suv by pinging the rick tim's cell phone. the suspect took off and ended up bailing from the suv dropping the cash, his mask and gun in the process. he ran back into the the sugar house casino where he was taken into custody. new this morning a man is in the hospital after being shot in the leg in philadelphia's spring garden section. the shooting happened at around 1:30 this morning outside the spring garden apartments. that is where the the intersection of north seventh and green street. police say the 23 year-old victim was shot multiple times in both legs. he was taken to hahnemann hospital in stable condition so far no arrests have been made.

police say a man was shot several times in a cherry hill, new jersey hotel. gunfire broke out at the inn of the dove on the 700 block of cuthbert boulevard about 3:00 this morning. the victim was taken to cooper university hospital in critical condition before police arrived and police say a woman was assaulted inside a car in the parking lot. it was a blood stained shirt believed to be from the man was also found in the lot. so far no arrests. a woman is in serious condition after a car flips in hunting park and london several washers and dryers. the action cam at the intersection of north second and glenwood avenue around 2:00 this morning. police say the car was speeding when it lost control flipped over several times and hitting a utility pole. the car landed on top of several washers and dryers that are sold, at a business here we're told the woman was thrown from the car crews had a hard time getting to her because of all of the down wires, at this point it is not clear if the the woman was driving.

now to the latest on the deadly crash of amtrak 188 the the fbi is now on the the case investigating whether something hit the the train just before ago he will rated and derailed in port richmond on tuesday night killing eight people. the "action news" reporter dann cuellar has more on the search for answers. >> reporter: fbi was examining the windshield of the amtrak train 188 now located in the secure area in delaware. wind healed was damaged during the crash but there are a couple of round fractures the fbi has been asked to focus on. >> the windshield was shattered but there is particular damage we want them to look at for us. >> reporter: this comes after a conductor on the train reports hearing the engineer talking on the radio to the engineer of septa trenton line train number 769 that had been struck by an object. it had to make an emergency stop but there were no injuries. that was as 9:10 p.m. five minutes earlier outbound acela train had been struck in the same area as well. conductor on board amtrak train 188 now tells

it's a money maker. i mean, i just feel like our children are paying the price for these high stakes tests and their teachers are stressed out about it. so, teachers aren't benefiting. they're not getting information from these tests that are helpful for teaching. kids aren't benefiting because they don't even know what they got right or wrong. they just know that they feel really bad about it. parents aren't benefitting because i don't get any more information about my child. so the only people that could possibly be benefitting from this are corporations who are making the tests and selling the tests.

all of the recent rain fall in texas is leading to moral gator sightings. a trapper in pasadena says he has been getting multiple calls about alligators near homes and businesses. all of the water is pushing gators out of their home so they are seeking higher ground. the trapper found this guy near a business, in danger of being trapped in a pump. speaking of gators, this scene. >> wow. >> a little more scarier then the the last one because that gator is a a lot bigger. in goose creek, south carolina a woman napped this photo of her kid watching a 10-foot alligator walking across the the front yard. it was heading toward kids walking to their school bus. someone drove a car on the lawn to get between the gator and those kid. the by the time animal control showed up, the gator had wondered back into a pond. you got to have love kid right. not a fear in the world. >> apparently the kid were on the porch when the gator came up. >> did you see them at the the

happening now on "action news" saturday at 9:00 police are investigating a reported sexual assault at a restaurant in olde city. one year-old in florida is recovering this morning after police say that she was shot in the face, by her three-year old brother. and a mother's desperate plea she's searching for her daughter who has been missing for more than a month now. first lets head outside to meteorologist chris sowers and the accu weather forecast, hi chris. >> hi, it is not too bad on city avenue. it just depend where you live. if you live south of the pennsylvania turnpike we are seeing that increase in humidity now and temperatures are about 10 degrees warmer then northern areas. the to the north it is still nice and comfortable very refreshing.
