be quite as strong. some of the storms had winds gusts and hail stones about 3 quarters of an inch in diameter. we're not expecting that today but if you do see it, there's a good bet you'll pick up a downpour and winds 30 to 40 miles per hour. if you're heading to citizens bank park. 1:35 start time taking on the diamondbacks. look out for the hit or miss shower or thunderstorm. once again, warm and sticky. when i come inside we'll talk the cooler conditions in the forecast. >> a three-alarm blaze destroyed warehouse in montgomery county. it happened at the flooring business that caused the roof and walls to collapse. chad perdelli joins us live on the scene in plymouth township with all the details. >> reporter: nydia, firefighters continue to try to extinguish the fire, we learned it is under

control. you can see behind me firefighters in elevated positions attacking the blaze. still trying to put out hot spots and attack from above and get on top of the roof that has collapsed. there were several wall collapses according to firefighters. there was the scene around 3:30 a.m. firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke this quickly went to three-alarms like you mentioned. that means other fire companies from around the counties came here and brought apparatus and 100 firefighters have been attacking since the early morning hours. fire officials say the warehouse is home to american flooring and centek blinds. there are many chemicals in the buildings. neighbors reported hearing explosion and that may be due to the chemicals. they had trouble initially getting water on the fire, they

rectified the situation and began attacking it again. as we mentioned this fire is under control. i spoke to the fire chief and neighbors here's what they had to say. >> we believe we have a variety of chemicals that are used in the flooring business that are involved in the fire. we have an issue with potential runoff dep and montgomery has -- haz/mat is rectifying the situation. >> we woke up in a panic my son was moved out of the back bedroom into the front. we were ready to leave if we had to. >> reporter: the chemicals are petroleum based. it doesn't appear the smoke is harm to residents. there have been no evacuations and no reported injuries. the cause is under investigation, we did talk to some neighbors, they say they are without power in the immediate area, the gas line, gas has been shut off, that will have to be repaired here and the

a total loss after fire ripped through overnight. you can see the flames pour from the roof of the warehouse in plymouth township. the roof and walls have collapsed. this warehouse sits behind homes. chad perdelli joins us live on the scene with the latest. chat. >> reporter: hey, firefighters continue to put water on this fire. we reported at 10:00 a.m., the fire was under control but officials have told us it's not now. there are too many hot spots. you can see firefighters continue to attack from elevated positions. you can see all the debris on the grounds. there have been several wall collapses with this warehouse fire. this is video from this morning. the fire broke out at 3:30 a.m. firefighters encountered heavy smoke flames shooting through the roof. it went to three-alarms, meaning other firefighters from around the county were brought in.

100 firefighters have been attacking it. it's home to american flooring and c event -- centeckk blinds. at this point the chemicals do not appear to be are a danger to residents. initially firefighters had issues getting water on the fire. they rectified the situation, as you can see they continued to attack it. moments ago he spoke with the fire chief and area residents. >> we believe we have a variety of chemicals that were used in the flooring business that was involved in the fire. we have issue with the potential runoff that dep and montgomery county haz/mat is assisting us. >> we were nervous my wife woke up in a panic we moved our son out of the back bedroom into the front.

we were ready to leave if we had to. >> and so far there have been no evacuations but firefighters tell us they have told residents to stay in place if they can the winds are shifting, so some of the smoke is blowing into the residential neighborhood. the neighborhood is without power at this time. at this point the cause is under investigation and we're happy to report there are no reported injuries. live in plymouth township, chad perdelli channel 6 "action news." >> thank you chad. now to the latest on the investigation into the deadly train derailment in port richmond. speed controls systems are being installed after federal officials said they must be in place before the busy corridor is reopened. >> investigators are looking into what struck the windshield before the deadly crash. >> object came in contact with the train shattering wind

windshield. >> reporter: "action news" obtained the scanner from the septa police. >> he put out a text saying the train was shot at, use caution. >> copy. >> reporter: ntsb said the engineer was talking to engineer amtrak train 188 who said his train was struck this according to a conductor interviewed by the agency. the conversation was captured on tape and turned over to ntsb. police investigators would later determine that the septa train was not shot at, but hit by an unknown object. a southbound acela train was struck by an object in the same area and same time frame. meanwhile, they are examining the windshield focusing on the fracture you yous to determine if

they are bullet holes. >> my take on the whole thing there had to be impact on the window. >> reporter: michael callinan worked as a conductor in connecticut. he believes an outside force was likely responsible to cause the engineer to kick the speed up to over 100 miles per hour. >> we have had our train stoned before all kinds of stuff hams on the northeast corridor. baltimore we have children stoning the train with rocks. that particular area of north philadelphia is a bad area. >> reporter: they need to expand the speed restriction use on the trains where the train reached 106 miles per hour. that's the latest in port richard -- richmond, i'm dann
