and tragedy at notre dame, a student falls off the roof and dies one day before he was set to graduate. moreen the stories in a moment, but first the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast with meteorologist chris sowers good afternoon chris. >> reporter: good afternoon, nydia, not too bad it's warm and humid, if you pull up a seat underneath the shade it feels pretty good. let's go over to storm tracker 6 live double scan of we have a difference across the viewing area north to south. if you live in the lehigh valley and the poconos we see thin clouds w sun shining down through that. the southern portions of the viewing area is seeing the thick overcast and white rain. we'll zoom into kent and new castle county and delaware and cape may counties in south jersey. you can see the patchy drizzle and scattered showers reported from dover to middletown and salem down through gandys beach

fortescue into the tip in cape may. that will be the trend in the next hour or so. you can see the line extends all the way through york and harrisburg. that will continue to pull to the south and to the east, about 20, 25 miles per hour. keeping the cloud cover locked in across the southern areas, to the north, you can see the sun peek through. 81 in philadelphia. a muggy 76 in millville. wilmington, 78. 77 in reading allentown 75. the normal high is only 74 and we're well above that we're shooting for a high of 86, 87. phillies taking on arizona 83, 82 somewhere in that ballpark. warm and sticky, a couple of thunderstorms are possible. might not calls a rain display but they will be in and around the area, 85, 86 by the time it's over. it's a warm and sticky finish to the weekend. showers and thunderstorms a good

bet that will develop this afternoon. we have a greater chance 6 showers and storms monday and tuesday, i'll talk much more on that when i see you in ten minutes with the full and exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. nydia. >> chris thank you. developing this noon, crews are on the scene of this massive three-alarm fire in montgomery county. smoke and flames were shooting into the air earlier this morning on the ten hundred block of coldwell lane in plymouth township. >> reporter: nydia, this fire is under control and the firefighters are in a cleanup mode. the warehouse has been knocked down and firefighters are working to put out some of the hopt spots. this was the -- 9 hot spots. this was the seen earlier this morning when the fire broke out. firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames shooting through the roof. neighbors reported hearing

explosion. the fire went to three-alarms, 100 firefighters responded and began attacking. it's home to philadelphia flooring and centeck blinds. there is runoff going into the storm drain. the chemicals are not a danger to the public, but working to mitigate the problems with the run off the departments of environment protection and haz/mat are on scene and here was the fire chief a short time ago. >> we're trying to remedy the situation. we were trying to collect it and as you suck iflt out as betts -- it out as west we could. now we'll dump large amounts of water into the drain system to dilute it. >> reporter: residents are being told to shelter in place the winds are shifting and there's

smoke in the area. one firefighter did suffer a minor hand injury. he was taken to a local hospital and is going to be okay. the cause is under investigation. live in plymouth township, chad perdelli channel 6 "action news." nydia. >> chad, thank you,. in new jersey, a woman is in critical condition after a fire in trenton. the action cam on the # -- 700 block of center street. the blaze broke out on the first floor of the town home and spread to another. about a dozen people are displaced. there's no word on what sparked the fire. crews are trying to figure out what sparked this fire at a popular surf shop on the ocean city boardwalk. flames were shooting from the store when crews arrived. nobody was hurt, but the shop is heavily damaged. changes are coming to amtrak in the wake of the deadly train derailment.

the federal railroad administration has ordered amtrak to expand the use of the speed restriction system on the northbound rails. it's already used for southbound trains approaching the curve. it automatically applieses the brakes engineer doesn't slow down in time. amtrak is hoping to resume limited service between new york and philadelphia tomorrow, full service on tuesday. septa is expected to release information about possibility of restoring service on the trenton regional rail line tomorrow. friends and families are saying goodbye to some of the victims of the crash. funeral services are being held for laura finamore. funeral services will be held for 39-year-old rachel jacobs taking place in her hometown outside her hometown in

detroit, michigan. jacobs was the ceo of an educational software company in university city and lived in new york. our coverage continues at 6abc.com. you can follow the latest on the ntsb investigation you can see pictures and read more on the victims of the tragedy. school officials in montgomery will decide later today if lower moreland high school will be opened for class. yesterday, a 32-year-old was killed when he lost control of his dodge ram and sped across the parking lot into the building. the impact brought down record electrical wires and caused water pipes to about burst. nobody was hurt. a university of notre dame senior has died after falling from the roof of one of the school's athletic buildings. he fell to his death early

yesterday morning. police found him on the ground outside the joy center. that's the buildings that houses the school's basketball arena. university officials say he gained access to the roof with a small group of other students. the roof was slippery from rain. the county coroner is trying to determine the exact cause of death. there's much more to come on "action news" for sunday afternoon. looking to lose a few pounds before summer, a shopping list can go a long way. beach goers in new zealand get a shock when this massive squid washes ashore, the incredible pictures coming up.

>> reporter: let me back in, its way too humid out here, i can feel the sweat dripping down by back a little bit. the humidity leaves have gone through the roof. now that we have a system approaching from the west we have showers popping up. we have a nice gentle shower for portions of kent and new castle county in delaware. just enough to water the flower beds and the garden and wash away the poll nl. pollen. i would like to see the line pull into the city. the wider view showing cloud cover to the south. we're seeing holes in the clouds. they are starting to thin out farther to the north places like vicinity vincent town. and allentown bethlehem, lehigh valley that could be enough to trigger thunderstorms later on. right now things are quiet later this afternoon things could get active.

>> chris, thank you. now to the latest on the developing story out of the montgomery county. you crews are on the scene of this massive three-alarm fire. smoke and flames were shooting into the area in plymouth township. chad perdelli is live at the scene with the latest. good afternoon chad. >> reporter: hey, nydia, this fire is now under control and firefighters are now in the cleanup mode that's what's left of the warehouse it's been completely knocked down as firefighters continue to put out the hot spots. this was the scene earlier this morning around # 30:00 a.m. when the fire broke out. firefighters encountered heavy smoke flames shooting through the roof. we were told there were several wall collapses and residents reporting hearing explosions. this fire went to three-alarm also. the fire companies from around the county responded. 100 firefighters in all attacked it. the warehouse is home to

philadelphia flooring an centeck blinds. they are destroyed. there is runoff going into storm drains they are petroleum-based products. haz/mat is on scene to mitigate the chemicals and get them cleaned up. >> we're in the process of trying to remedy the situation. we were trying to collect it, but we realized it's not going to work, so we're going to dump fresh water into the storm drain system to dilute it. >> we were nervous my wife woke up in a panic we moved our son out of the back bedroom into the front. we were ready to leave if we had. >> reporter: and officials tell me the chemicals are not a danger to the public, but i'll tell you if you're downwind your eyes can burn. that said therein no
