exists. how long does that warm and humid pattern last not throughout the entire 7 day karen i'll have details coming up. >> big news with mass transit is amtrak is resuming service between philadelphia and new york city jury with first train levering philadelphia 5:53 this morning and septa trenton line shares the same tracks. this is resumed service here. however trains are not stopping with trenton line at north philadelphia station and outbound trains not stopping at bridesburg and tacony. first train line to run septa 1701 running 35 minutes late reporting sdlaiz there. those are the kind of delays to expect as service resumed. most of the trains that service trenton stop at chestnut hill east. we'll see delays there but it's running. >> 95 girard. northbound traffic pattern did not change. it happened over the weekend here. pattern change did not happen over weekend as we were

expecting and we're seeing traffic at this point move okay. that's northbound traffic headed to allegheny and look going right now matt. >> thank you, karen. amtrak riders at 30th street station will depart for new york city in 20 minutes. it will be first trip along the stretch of northeast corridor since last tuesday's deadly derailment. "action news" reporter katherine scott joins us live from the terminal with more on this. katherine. >> matt, that's right northeast corridor is up and running this morning and starting to see passengers show up to 30th street station. message amtrak has for passengers, amtrak is safe to ride. you can take a look at boards here. amtrak information board here at 30th street station you can see amtrak train 110 will depart for new york city 5:53 a.m. late yesterday afternoon local state and federal leaders gathered for service at the site where eight people lost lives and 200 were injured. investigation continues into derailment and what caused train

to accelerate to more than twice the speed limit as it approached the curve. and investigators are also looking into reports that an object may have struck the windshield before the crash. and amtrak says they had hundreds of people this weekend working to get the busy northeast corridor up and running in compliance with federal receivety mandates. saturday federal regulators ordered them to extend use of automatic train control system near the crash site. amtrak told us that technology is now in place. >> what we've done is abide by directive by federal railroad administration to install a code change in the area of the curve where the incident happened. and what that will do is basically provide assurance that the train will come to a stop if there's a violation of speed in that area. >> and back here live passengers are starting to gather for the 5:53 train. it leaves not long from now within the next half hour. train 111 departed new york city

for philadelphia right around now. we're live at 0th street station. katherine scott, "channel 6 action news". >> funerals are scheduled today for two of the eight people that died in amtrak crash. services for bob gildersleeve junior will be held in monday touj county new jersey and rachel jacobs laid to rest in suburb ur an detroit today and some of the other victims were remembered over the weekend including funeral services for laura finamore yesterday. >> police s in waco texas stepped up controls. they're worried about retaliation between motorcycle gangs. gunfire took place outside between peaks restaurant sending patrons running for cover. nine bikers died. none of the public was hurt. five rival gangs got together to settle differences and fight broke out. police detained more than 100 people for questioning and made saevrl rests. pennsylvania primary is tomorrow. consider humid air. it's sticky out there as it was yesterday. winds camp currently seeing that with the sky six cameras. future tracker 6 shows you dry morning for the most part. couple of popup showers down south right now. that's about. it by noon couple more might start popping and as we move from noon to 3:00 you can see how we start to fill in with some downpour producing showers and perhaps a couple of thunderstorms. now this is going to be another one of those typical spring patterns with not everybody is seeing this but those that do will want to take cover because we could have a couple of quick thumping thunderstorms and obviously drenching downpours. by 6:00 more of that here or there. could behinder drive home. and then we get into the later evening hours 11:00. and both adam joseph at 10:00 khan 17 and cecily tynan 11:00 here on 6abc. may be tracking more showers and thunderstorms coming through. and this might be one of those overnights you're woken by a rumle of thupdzer and it masses.

bit right now. as we look outside live thorn barey township chester county 202 near green tree road. roads in this area dry. you can pick up light fog through the region too. i want to give you the latest with visibility reports. we're at 5 miles visibility philadelphia international and less than a mile in lancaster and 1.7 mile visibility in millville and half a mile visibility now in dover delaware. 1.7 mile visibility in wildwood and two miles in beach haivrn and you get the idea in some areas impacting you on the roads this morning. let's look at newhanover township. we had an accident involving a vehicle that smashed into a pole. it since cleared here. swamp pike everything moving better here at middle creek road. however we have another accident coming into us here in douglass township montgomery county this is gilbertsville road shut down between tlush and verme drive stick to 100. a truck fire in mount laurel burlington county 95 northbound

they got up on the roof and started fighting them. they remain on the scene putting out hot spots. no one was injured. >> this is video of close call for casino bus driver on way to chicago. it got stuck in this vertical position after plunging off a bridge in indiana. firefighters were able to rescue the driver and no one else was on board. cause of the crash is under investigation. >> a school district in kentucky is investigating a really scary ordeal for a young student. a bus dragged her at least 100 feet all caught on camera. take a look at this you see the girl barely hanging on as bus keeps going down the street her backpack got stuck in the door and neighbors heard extremes and ran to help. the child suffered road rash and went to the hospital and is expected to make a pulling recovery. >> iraq officials say city of ramadi has fall tone isis there has been intense fighting since thursday when islamic militants

>> new this morning four people were injured in a crash in burlington county late last night. police say two cars were stopped at a relate when a third vehicle rear ended them. two people were flown to a nearby hospital and an ambulance transferred the other two. route 73 is back open this morning. lower moreland high school which was damaged by an out of control car, will open on time today. the 32-year-old driver was killed in a crash on saturday. no one else was hurt. police in montgomery county are still trying to figure out why he slammed into the building at a high rate of speed. >> app happening today commuters weigh in on 'proposed fare hike. one of nine hearings will be held at the atlantic city rail terminal and into the camden tomorrow night and trenton thursday night. the agency wants to raise rates on trains, buses and light rail cars by nearly 9% to plug a growing budget gap.
