>> 2-inches of rain. cochranville an inch and a half of rain as you head towards wilmington about an inch of rain there but then as you move just to the east of us, so the eastern part of west chester no rain. the western part of west chester over 2-inches, so it has been very hit or miss but where it's raining it's raining hard because of the humidity and that atmosphere sopping wet with moisture. we have a flood advisory for that area in chester county from. that extends into new jersey and delaware down into salem county as well as central northern new castle county. that also until 5:30 because of all of the water that is falling so quickly. over the next 24 hours downpours as high as risk. strong winds large hail isolated tornadoes on the low side and temperatures guys take a look at this, the easterly women going to work 60's east of philadelphia, still 70's and 80's to the west. we'll talk about a cold front coming through, the possibility of more storms in that full accuweather forecast. >> all right, adam thank you. we've got breaking news today in the derailment of amtrak 188. sources tell action 92 news that investigators now believe this crash was caused by human error. they say it was a combination of speed heading into the turn and the force the engineer used on the brakes that sent that train off those tracks while the engineer was doing more than twice the permitted speed limit heading into the turn still unclear this afternoon. and those sources also say the

damage to the front window of the train was not caused by a bullet. they say whatever it was would not have caused that train to derail. the ntsb is expected to release more details on all of this later today. all of this comes on the date first trains went north from 30th street station since the wreck. >> we got word of a lawsuit filed by the victims. john rawlins is live at 30th street station with the details. john. >> reporter: well, after davis no service north to trenton or new york service is basket it returned early this morning just in time for the morning rush. the view from a train window passing some of the equipment used to stitch together the damaged portions of the northeast corridor. >> our guys have been working around the clock. we have 300 some crews out there over the weekend really all week. >> reporter: the first train

shortly after 6:00 a.m. the train 110 with 109 passengers was running late but no one was complaining. as for any nerves given this was the first train back an opinion is split. >> no. amtrak is awesome. things happen and i'm sure they'll be extra careful. >> i'm a little nervous. my family is a little more nervous for me. i have to get back to new york of course this morning and this is the quickest and best way. >> reporter: two center city law firms joined forces today in announcing the first lawsuits against amtrak on behalf seriously injured passengers aboard last week's ill fated train 188. among the plaintiffs a spanish retiree who almost had her arm severed and a new york avenue advertising executive. >> he ended below the train. he's not exactly sure why. it fractured his ribs bruised his lungs knocked out his teeth. >> reporter: the lawyers chastised amtrak for not installing a automatic train control until after the fatal

crash and had harsh words for the 32-year-old engineer. >> the conduct here by the engineer is both unfathomable and unconscionable. >> reporter: the two firms have worked before together. they represented individuals in the pier 34 collapse back in the year 2000 as well as the duck boat fatalitys in 2010. live at 30th street station john rawlins channel6 "action news." >> all right, john, thank you. president obama just wrapped up a trip to camden. the president met with police officers and praised them for their efforts to build trust with the community at a time where police distrust has grown around the country. camden violent crime is down 24 percent and credited police with spending time in the streets even when they're not responding to a crime. >> it's not just crisis response not after the fact, there's a crime there's a dead body there's a shooting and now we're going show up its we're here all the time and hopefully we can prevent

its alums today. adrian robinson played in the nfl. he died over the weekend at the age of just 25. walter perez live now on campus there in north philadelphia where they remembered robinson today. hi, walter. >> reporter: well, brian such a tragic story here. adrian robinson's friends and colleagues are remembering a promising young man who recently celebrated the birth of his baby girl was working on finishing his degree here at temple and just signed a contract way team in the canadian football league. anyone who knew adrian robinson would tell you he was the kind of person you never forget especially if you played against him on the football field. >> every game, every practice we kind of pretty much pushed each other to become a better player. >> reporter: brown wasn't just a cocaptain with robinson on the temple football team. they were best friends. he says the biggest mistakes opponents made was by judging adrian by the fact he only stood 6 feet 1 inch tall. >> they look at him

height-wise in the nfl they would try to look past him. he was that good. >> reporter: that's why since 2012 adrian spent time playing for the pittsburgh steelers denver broncos and san diego chargers. last month he signed a contract with the hamilton tiger cats of the canadian football field. after the announcement of robinson's death steelers head coach mike tomlin tweeted his condolences writing my thoughts are with the family of adrian robinson during this difficult time. very sad that he passed away at such a young age. he says his and adrian's family have come so close. he was more like a brother than a friend. >> i looked out him to the best of my ability. it's unfortunate that this situation came about at a time like this for man that was so younging so talented. >> reporter: absolutely. no word this afternoon on a cause of death. once again adrian robinson was only 25 years old.

reporting live from north philadelphia f-walter perez channel6 "action news." brian. >> tragic loss, walter. thank you. from our delaware news room today, police in new castle county are reminding people to lock their car doors after a series of recent thefts in glen hurts. it comes after two women broke into at least six vehicles, none of which were locked and stole items from inside. the thefts happened on garfield harrison and smyrna avenues in the holy okay neighborhood. surveillance video shows two women going if vehicle to vehicle checking door handles. so far police have not made any arrests. >> the flyers have a new coach today but it's not a man who was on any one's radar. his name is dave hackstate. he has been the coach at the university of north dakota where he took the team to the frozen four seven times. this is his first nfl coaching job. sports director ducis rodgers will have more on the new coach coming up in sports tonight at 5:00. >> sure to be a lot of

today. visit your local volvo showroom for details. >> ♪♪ >> 170 people are charged in yesterday's shootout at a crowd it restaurant in waco texas. nine bikers died and 18 others were wounded when motorcycle gangs opened fire at the twin peaks bar. police say many innocent families were eating just a few yards away and it's fortunate none of them were hurt. investigators haven't revealed a motive but they say the fight started in a bathroom with fists and escalated to knives and guns. >> we had people stabbed. we had people shot and we had people beat. that disturbance moved into the parking lot very quickly. our officers responded very quickly and appropriately. >> the restaurant will be closed for at least a week after threats of more violence. all 170 suspects are being

held on $1 million bond. >> we take you live to the airport right now and this is why. president obama has just gotten off marine one there at phl as he makes his way for air force one. as we reported earlier in the newscast today, the president was in camden touting a lot of progress made by that city's police force in forging trust and relationships twit community. the president checking out a number of sites throughout the city and touting their ability to drive down crime 24 percent there violent crime is down in camden. the president now getting onto air force one bound back for washington, d.c. and there with a wave he is on the plane and onto washington. nora will have a full report coming up in our next half hour. one of the candidates running for president in 2016 made a campaign stop in philadelphia today. senator rand paul spoke on independence mall this morning. he used that opportunity to lash out against the national security agency's bulk

spoke at the commencement. power is the first female commencement speaker since actress jodi foster in 2006. >> i guess we mentioned quite a few thunderstorms heavy downpours moving through right now as we get another check of the accuweather forecast. >> let's go over to meteorologist adam joseph. >> very scattered very hit or miss but most of the thunderstorms right now throughout the state of delaware and parts of new castle county and kent county and that cluster of downpours in chester county and parts of salem county beginning to weaken and fall apart. in act as we look at double scan live a little closer still a little yellow left over near west chester. no lightning strikes in this entire vantage point right down to women to. the rain really just west of media, not a drop of rain for philadelphia, the airport or even most of delaware county this afternoon and as we slide to the south there you can see a cluster of downpours and thunderstorms. in fact, 60 lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes. , see current lightning strike to the north of middletown and also to the south of smyrna and west of dover near merry

dale pushing away from delaware. these are very slow moving. really can't track them because they're kind of popping up not moving and releasing one or 2-inches of lane in localized spots. as we take a look at the temperatures a big contrast from east to west. that easterly wind has pulled those temperatures down into the 60's for trenton and beach haven. 77 in philadelphia and 82 degrees in lancaster and it's that easterly wind that is choking the storms and not allowing them to push east of chester county right now and also east of salem county. in fact, take a look at the dewpoints. any time it's between 65 and 70 it is very muggy and it helps to fuel the atmosphere for those downpours and you can see the 70's to the west. that is why the downpours and thunderstorms are forming there and not eastward because it is much drier in philadelphia to the shore. in fact as we take a look at storm tracker six live double scan that little cluster there and then we have more to the west we're awaiting a cold front but it's very scattered and nothing organized over the next 24 hours.

tonight it's 50's north and east 60's elsewhere. very warm and muggy with those scattered storms around. low rick of severe weather for the lehigh valley trenton north tomorrow with the possibility of strong winds with any of the thunderstorms and in fact as we take a look at future tracker at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning the biggest concentration is north of philadelphia, not to the south tomorrow morning and then as the cold front arrives tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock it's sun and clouds, it's very warm and again you just see some scattered downpours and thunderstorms. we're not going to watch an entire line pass through the area. so as we take a look at the four day at 4:00 it's warm with a few scattered storms much like today. tomorrow at 87 degrees. bright breezy and those dewpoints fall off the boards here into the 30's and 40's so it's very comfortable on wednesday with a high of just 72. and a lot of clouds around the city south thursday. in it sun will be confined to the lehigh valley. chilly for this time of year, 70 degrees and then low humidity the sun is back if

>> ♪♪ >> two people were hurt this morning when a school bus crashed in northeast philadelphia. it happened just after 6:30 at the intersection of byberry and thornton roads. police say the crash involved that bus and another car. you can see the impact sent the bus into a pole. the driver of the school bus and the driver of the car both went to a nearby hospital. both are expected to be okay. no students were injured. >> police in north philadelphia are asking for help to find the person who helped carjack a man right on broad street. it happened last tuesday at a gas station in the 1300 block

of north broad. police say two men waited in a blue minivan. then they approached the victim jammed what they said was a gun into his back and took his wallet and his keys. they drove his car away and the blue minivan quickly followed. police stopped the stolen car and arrested both men inside but the blue minivan got away. police are asking anyone with information to call them. and still ahead a tennessee man is back above ground after spending four days trapped in a storm drain. how he got there in the first place ahead. >> plus, high praise from the president. when i barack obama says camden is a symbol of promise for america when it comes to community police relations. >> ♪♪

barack obama used his appearance in camden to reveal that his administration will no longer allow federal agencies to provide certain military equipment like bayonets and grenade launchers to local police forces. the president says such an image sends the wrong message to the community that the police is trying to protect and the relationship between the community and police is exactly the reason the president was here in the first place today. new jersey correspondent nora muchanic live in camden this afternoon with the details on all of this. hi nora. >> reporter: hi -- there brian. you know, presidents don't really come to camden so this is a big day for this city getting positive recognition for change that's happening here. it's a milestone and president obama says the city, the residents and the county police department richly deserve it. >> i've come here to camden to do something that might have been unthinkable just a few years ago. and that's to hold you up as a

symbol of promise for the nation. >> reporter: that was the president at the kroc community center on harrison avenue praising the results of camden county's two-year-old metro police division which has cut murders almost in half and reduced other violent crime in the city. after touring police headquarters with cleve scott thompson obama acknowledged that police reforms here are still a work in progress but that camden is onto something that police departments elsewhere should look at and adopt including technology and community policing where officers walk a beat and get to know the community. >> when you match courage with compassion, with care and understanding of the community like we've seen here in camden some really outstanding things can begin to happen. >> reporter: the president's visit is a huge shot in the arm for camden long considered one of america's poorest and most dangerous cities. >> this city for far too long has been painted in a negative

fashion. things are moving in the right direction. there's a rebirth going on in this city and the residents deserve what they're getting today which is a pat on the back from the president. >> reporter: residents who came to see the president are excited. >> we need a lot of assistance from all government officials and if it starts from the top and works down then i think we have a fighting chance of bringing the city back to a good healthy place. >> reporter: now before he gave a speech the president met in the gym here with some officers and some youngsters including members of the camden high basketball team who personally have been touched by violence. as the president said, there's still work to do. the metro police force has a high turnover rate but they are working on that but in his view the president is saying that community policing is the way to go to try to reduce tensions between police and the public nationwide. live in camden, i'm nora muchanic, channel6 "action news." brian. >> all right, big day there nora. thanks very much. the reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who kidnapped a woman off a fishtown street and then raped

her now stands at $2,500. u.s. marshals and philadelphia police have been looking for 24-year-old manual cintron since they identified him as the suspect earlier this movement they say cintron abducted a 22-year-old woman from the 2000 block of york street back on may first. he's also accused of trying to kidnap another woman in the city's logan section just an hour before that attack. if you have any information on cintron's whereabouts you're asked to call 911. >> the delaware state fire marshal's office is looking into a blaze that caused at least $25,000 in damage to a bear business. or use the #6abcaction on social medial it's how you can be a part of the "action news" -- a part of "action news." >> a robbery victim turned the tables on his attackers in the juniata park section of philadelphia. the suspect followed the 30-year-old after he left the honey garden chinese takeout last thursday. they put a gun to his head on the 1300 block of east like coaming street and took $20. but the man pulled out his own weapon and opened fire. no one was hurt but the thieves ran and they remain at large this afternoon. surveillance video captured both inside the restaurant before the robbery so if you recognize either of these suspects please call philadelphia police. jury selection began today in the trial of a bucks county man charged with killing a pregnant woman and her four-year-old child. investigators say dna evidence linked marcel johnson to the murders of ebony at a and her

daughter rmani rankings. they were stabbed to death in their lester town apartment back in 2013. police say johnson set the apartment on fire to try to cover up the crime. tali's unborn child the not survive. testimony set to start may 27. prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. >> a montgomery county high school opened on time this morning despite being heavily damaged in a deadly crash over the weekend. a truck sped right into the janitor's office of lower moreland high school on saturday afternoon. the driver 32-year-old phillippe andre pinto silva of huntingdon valley was killed. crews spent the weekend fixing broken pipes and making other repairs. the cause of the accident remains under investigation. >> meteorologist adam joseph joining us. we desperately needed rain. lots of places getting a little too much of it right now. >> but the problem is there are no winds to store these downpours and thunderstorms. they sit over the same location and not sharing the rain with communities around them unfortunately.

as we take a look at double scan live radar right now probably 90 percent of us are in the dry and just a few of us seeing those downpours and a couple of thunderstorms in the state of delaware. in fact we'll go down to delaware 'cause this is the biggest concentration of downpours and a few storms with six lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes just to the west of port penn. not raining there but you can hear the thunder in the distance down to townsend and just on the verge of smyrna seeing a few light showers. they're barely moving to the south and east and even south of here seeing one thunderstorm just to the west of 13 to the south and west of canterbury and milford. if it holds together get a little bit of rain there as well but again slowly drifting and because they're moving so slowly in that -- and that particular one just to the south and west of dover, one to 2 inches of rain being released out of this particular thunderstorm so a flood advisory until 6:45. an advisory mean there's excess water especially on the roadways because of how quickly it is falling from the

skies. we'll talk about another risk for scattered downpours tomorrow and then a big change coming wednesday in that seven-day forecast. >> all right looking forward to it adam. thank you. one community in delaware county is dealing with what you might call a fish problem. several dead fish have been showing up along the shore line of a neighborhood lake. >> ♪♪ >> the fbi is investigating after a well known hacker says he was able to tap into the flight control system on a commercial jet. chris roberts says he infiltrated the plane's controls through the in flight entertainment system. no less than 15 times from 2011 to 2014. in one instance according to an affidavit roberts says he was even able to cause one of the plane's engines to climb forcing that plane to turn to the side. >> the information in the affidavit is correct and roberts was able to issue a command like this, obviously that's a huge security concern. >> so far investigators say there is no evidence to support roberts' claims. he was kicked off the united flight last month after tweeting about the plane's vulnerabilities. the fbi says it appears then that he had tampered with the entertainment console. >> firefighters can cut through cement to save a man who spent four days trapped in a tennessee storm drain.

the 53-year-old said he climbed into the pipe because he felt like an adventure. but he got stuck in a sharp bend next to an indoor sports arena. fortunately a man arriving for his daughter's swim meet heard someone yelling and went to investigate. he spotted the man after shining his cell phone flashlight into the drain. rescuers dug him out. two hours later although he was dehydrated and covered in cuts the outcome could have been much worse. >> if we had had some rain obviously he was in a storm drain so it could have ended very badly for him. i think he had a guardian angel overlooking him and he was able to get out of there alive. >> police are not releasing the man's name and it is not clear if he will face any charges. >> ♪♪ >> over here at the big board with the big talkers and the kansas city royals may have won friday's game against the yankees but something one of their fans may or may not have done at the game is what's really grabbing headlines. this is video of a young woman catching a ball tossed by one of the players.

bridge opening just a few minutes ago. you can see the bridge on its way back down so traffic should be moving shortly but because the barge was northbound, that means expect an opening at the burlington bristol bridge coming up i'd say just about 45 minutes around 5:30. traffic should be moving here at the tacony palmyra before too long. a medical chopper moving its way toward vineland this afternoon. we're getting word of a nasty crash at the intersection of landis avenue and delsea drive there by the day's inn. good spot to avoid. if you're taking 55 through vineland and millville that looks okay for your ride on this monday afternoon. but here on 95 in delco not so fine. we've got a broken down vehicle here in the southbound left lane right by the exit for the commodore barry bridge and that's really backing things up in this spot that would normally be busy. you're on the brakes from 420 through this point at the commodore barry bridge. normal northbound delays on 95 through the great northeast. also watching a crash on the boulevard northbound at mascher street and there's a downed tree to watch out for along route 23 conshohocken state road at hagey's ford

>> where it's raining it's raining really hard a bunch of flood advisories for chester count and she expired early. storms are beginning to fall apart in many locates. as we take a look at double scan, we had the cluster in north end of new castle county. that has fizzled off of double scan radar. we still have it in the extreme part of kent county. this is a thunderstorm, five lightning strikes down to four in the last 15 minutes near middletown. west and south of port penn you're hearing the thunder say give me a little drink of rain. not going to happen as it's slowly drifting from the northwest to the south and east and in fact it's raining near middletown at a rate of 2-inches per hour. the atmosphere is very heavy. lot of water with those dewpoints in the high side so when you ring it out it rings out pretty heavily and they're moving very slowly as well but again the flood advisory for this area has expired. as we take a look at the winds

they're wrapping in off of the water in a big difference from west where lancaster it is a muggy 82 degrees. where we are shivering in beach haven with that wind directly off the atlantic only 59 degrees and philadelphia, millville right in the middle with temperatures only in the mid 70's. as we look at satellite and radar we can see the storms. they've been trying to move in from the west. not much in the atmosphere to get them moving to the east will us that easterly wind is basically setting up a wall here so areas and most areas around philadelphia to the north and to the east not seeing a drop of rain this afternoon. but for tonight a few scattered storms around warm and muggy 59. east of philadelphia 65, to the west of the city and for severe possibilities with a cold front that arrives tomorrow it's a very low risk from allentown trenton it's mainly up towards new york state into new england. but we'll track some of those storms tomorrow morning on future tracker and the best locations again will be north of the pa turnpike.

this is 6 o'clock tomorrow morning with a line that develops to the north and then as we get in the afternoon sun and clouds with a few scattered downpours and thunderstorms. this is 5 o'clock tomorrow afternoon so as we break down the day for you in the morning, there will be that broken line of storms north of the pennsylvania turnpike. then in the afternoon everyone is fair game for some isolated pop-ups but most of us will be dry tomorrow with that sunshine and the humidity dropping in the afternoon. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast warm with a few scattered storms morning and afternoon tomorrow. still a very warm day at 87 degrees. the humidity drops big time on wednesday. bright breezy, 72 degrees. and then a lot of clouds thursday 70 degrees. a few pops of sun towards the lehigh valley and then it's beautiful again friday. sunshine back, low humidity, 78. we start the memorial day weekend beautiful saturday, 74 degrees but clouds will increase sunday, 81.
