weather. >> first up let's keep talking about that unsettled weather and go on over to dave murphy and karen rogers who has your traffic. good morning. >> good morning, everybody. storm tracker six live double scan just showing you those showers and down in south jersey and southern delaware we do have wet roads with some light to moderate shower activity. no lightning across the map this morning. in philadelphia low lying cloud cover may be giving you a little bit of drizzle on the windshield and there's another round of showers that are pushing out of lancaster county in through berks county getting very close to reading at this point and some more stuff out west may cross places like chester county, delaware county and philadelphia a little bit later on. as we take a look at the wide view on satellite and radar lot of cloud cover out there behind that immediate rain. we will transition to clouds with some sunny breaks and then during the afternoon some more pop-up downpours are possible here or there. temperatures not too bad right now. 61 degrees in philadelphia. 62 in millville. some of you might feel a tad humid but it's not as muggy as it was yesterday. yesterday we started out real humid and then saw the humidity drop during the day

as that easterly wind came in off the ocean. today kind of the reverse. we're going to eventually turn those winds out of the southwest and make it muggier. cloudy and damp this morning with drizzle, some of you seeing showers. temperatures in the 60's this morning. as we roll through the afternoon it does get muggier and warmer. 73 by noon. by 3 o'clock 84, a couple isolated spotty thunderstorms or heavy showers, 84 is your high at 3 o'clock. and then 81 by 6 o'clock and later this evening we will start to cool down clear out and see that humidity drop. hey, good news for pollen sufferers. as promised we are way down into the low range today but then we gradually climb again through thursday so keep the meds handy. karen what are roads and rails looking like early. >> a huge accident in woolwich township gloucester county new jersey closing the new jersey turnpike. there were two tractor-trailer that is and a tour bus that all collided. one of the tractor-trailers burst into flames. they, ting wished the fire but it was carrying auto parts and paint. the tour bus didn't have any passengers on it and so far police are saying no one was injured but they have two

heavy duty tow trucks trying to make their way to the scene right now but the turnpike instead of is blocked on the turnpike northbound between exit one and exit two so coming up northbound near 322 we've got the new jersey turnpike shut down. southbound fire crews are blocking the left lane. they've extinguished the fire but they're still out there on the scene. use 295 instead testimony you can see speeds like 63 miles an hour. the roads basically run parallel. if you hop on 295 instead of the new jersey turnpike you'll be okay with this messy accident. all happened about 3:30 this morning. still causing problems right now on the new jersey turnpike in gloucester county new jersey. looking outside live in delaware county, this is i-95 at the commodore barry bridge. we can see the reduced visibility. we've got fog here. some of the roads a little bit damp because of that. on the big picture some malfunctioning traffic lights. in cross traffic on the boulevard at bustleton avenue. that's a new problem this morning, matt. >> thanks, karen. it is primary day in pennsylvania. polls across the state will open in less than two hours with democratic voters choosing their nominee for

mayor of philadelphia. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live with our coverage at city hall. katherine. >> reporter: matt, after tax the democrats should finally have their candidate in the race for city hall. the republican mayoral candidate in philadelphia is running unopposed. but there are other races in today's pennsylvania's primary. polls open at 7:00 a.m. in philadelphia f-all eyes are on the race for mayor this primary day. candidates were out making their last minute campaign stops. former pgw executive doug oliver was greeting people at a community gathering in harrison plaza in north philadelphia. former state senator milton street took to the microphone outside 52nd and market in west philadelphia. and former judge nelson diaz met with septa commuters at the spring garden stop on the broad street line. in center city, former district attorney lynne abraham shook hands and posed for pictures by the clothes pin statue. state senator anthony hardy williams was making the rounds at a block party in point breeze and former city

councilman jim kenney spoke to a crowd in south philadelphia urging folks to head to the polls. also in philadelphia, voters in each party will nominate five city council at large candidates and a handful of council seats are contested. a special election will determine who will replace lieutenant governor mike stack for the fifth senate district in northeast philadelphia. other big races include three open seats on the state supreme court. that has never happened before. and there are also four ballot questions you can weigh in on regardless of your party affiliation. polls close at 8 o'clock tonight. we're live at city hall, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine. now the philadelphia ballot will also ask voters in they support universal prekindergarten in the city. district attorney seth williams surrounded by preschoolers at city hall yesterday announced his support for ballot question number four. it would set up a commission to create a city wide plan for universal prek.

williams says studies show getting a student prepared for school before first grade leads to higher graduation rates. watch "action news" at 11:00 tonight for a wrapup of all the election results. we'll also be streaming them live on 6abc.com and update the decide races on the "action news" twitter feed. >> and new on "action news" the search is on for the gunman who shot and killed a man in philadelphia. it happened on the 1300 block of north conestoga street in the city's parkside section at 11:30 last night. police found the victim between two parked cars. he did not have an i.d. on him. police say he was shot multiple times at point blank range. nah in fact, 18 shell casings were on the ground. nearby suv smelling of pot and with a semi-automatic weapon in clear view is also being held as part of the investigation. in philadelphia police say an accused rapist is behind bars. u.s. marshals and philadelphia police arrested manuel cintron last night. he approached a woman walking

on the 2000 block of east york street in kensington. police say he pulled a gun and forced the woman into his vehicle. they say he sexually assaulted the 22-year-old woman later dropping her off in fishtown. "action news" spoke with michelle van guilder who grew up with cintron. >> it was a big surprise. i didn't think he would do something like that. maybe more women will be safer because you don't know what he's capable of. >> police say cintron could also be behind an attempted kidnapping in logan. >> president obama praised camden county's metro police division saying the department has reduced violent crime in the city of camden. the president spoke at the ray and joan kroc community center on harrison avenue in camden yesterday and also talked about how job creation fits in. the federal government has designated camden a promise zone which opens up the city to a range of federal funding. >> if we as a society don't do more to expand opportunity to everybody who is willing to work for it, then we'll end up

seeing conflicts between law enforcement and residents. >> president obama also announced he's cutting back on shipments of military equipment to local police. it comes nine months after complaints about officers using riot gear and armored vehicles to confront protesters in ferguson, missouri. >> 5:08 now and david it sounds like an unsettled day out there. >> it does a little bit. storm tracker six live double scan showing that we're starting out that way tam with parts of the region with either active rain or low lying cloud cover that's giving you some drizzle on the windshield. we'll start out in the northern and western suburbs where there is a line of shower activity moving into berks county and pushing close to parts of lehigh county, allentown about ready to get a little bit wet. fleetwood and reading just taking on this and it looks like it will be wet for you for an hour be maybe a little bit more. going a little farther down the pike, we do have some additional showers pushing into western chester county or getting close to it anyway, honeybrook is more or less on the western edge of chester could you.

farther down in south jersey and delaware some scattered showers in through parts of south jersey. there you see them going through elmer and heading into hammonton and farther to the south some more pronounced rain now pushing all the way across the delaware bay from dover and parts of delaware around llewes into came may county. i leave you with the wider view. where you don't see green you can get drizzle from low lying cloud cover. as we look outside we have cloudy skies with some of that low lying cloud cover over the airport making the lights above the terminals look a little misty and of course if there is some patchy dense fog that you happen to run into we are seeing some of that in parts of south jersey this morning. you slow it down. 61 degrees the temperature not too bad in philadelphia, 56 trenton, 57 allentown, 61 in sea isle city. future tracker six showing us that for the rest of the rush hour we'll see showers eventually tapering off later on. the rest of the morning looks basically gray. by the time we get up toward 3 o'clock, maybe two or 3 o'clock, there will be the chance of a pop-up shower developing maybe even a

thunderstorm. as you can see every now and then a drenching downpour is possible. that's because the humidity is going to be on the rise as we go through the morning and into the afternoon and we will get more unsettled out there. by 5 o'clock the rush hour in some spots might be hindered by some of this but as you can see overall it's a mix of clouds and sun and then later in the evening all of that gets off the coast went transition to much more comfortable conditions. up in allentown, 83 is your high today, mostly cloudy with a spotty shower or thunderstorm possible. down the shore a little cooler but in places like atlantic city up to 79 degrees, pretty warm. mainly cloudy with a spotty shower possible. and in philadelphia we're going for a high of 84, humid thunderstorms here and there but mainly dry and as we roll through the day, you can see how by 11 o'clock we're still in the 60's but then we do spend the afternoon in the 80's with in high of 84 around 3 o'clock. tomorrow a big change. sunny and breezy conditions behind that front cool and dry for tomorrow. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, today one more day of the warmth and humidity 84 degrees, a couple of spotty storms.

>> ♪♪ >> 5:14. little foggy, little misty little cloud cover here in our shot from penn's landing trying to see that ben franklin bridge out there and you're seeing some fog in other areas this morning as well. >> let's go on over to karen rogers see what it's looking like if you're trying to make your way in from the suburbs. good morning. >> that's right, we're following this big problem happening right now in woolwich township in gloucester county new jersey. as we go to the maps right here the new jersey turnpike northbound is blocked between exit one and exit two. that's the exit for 322. traveling up in new jersey we've got this area blocked northbound. the accident involving two tractor-trailers and a tour bus. one of the tractor-trailers burst into flames. the fire itself extinguished.

happened at 3:30 this morning. still blocking all lanes northbound. if you're headed southbound it's the left lane that is blocked. you can get by southbound at this point. 295 basically runs parallel. that's your best alternate to deal with the problem right now in woolwich township in gloucester county, new jersey. also here in rockledge montgomery county, penn avenue want to huntington pike and montgomery avenue we've got a fire here, central avenue is your best alternate to deal with that location and also an accident that's new just coming in to us right now in cheltenham. new second street at oak lane road so watch for that. i want to show you what it looks like outside. live in for the washington, 309 at the turnpike and right now 309 we've got foggy conditions on the turnpike eastbound near bensalem, you've got the right lane blocked with crews out there on the scene. i don't think visibilities are so low that it's going to be a problem seeing those crows. watch when you've got the right lane blocked on the turnpike. we can pull in our visibility reports in this area and show you what it looks like. we're down to 2.5-mile visibility at philadelphia international airport so that's significant in inn

you're flying out but only .3 of a mile right now in millville, new jersey. that's not that par from the accident scene we were talking about so foggy conditions might not have helped that situation on the new jersey turnpike. we're looking at .8 of a mile visibility in trenton and .3 right now in wildwood so fog an issue and in some areas the roads are a little wet too tam. >> okay, thank you karen. the california highway patrol arrested three burglary suspects who led them on a high speed chase around l.a. the car they were riding in yesterday sped the wrong way down streets narrowly missing hitting several vehicles. the car came to a stop when it crashed into a utility pole. the suspects ran away but officers found and arrested all three. fish and wildlife officials captured a mountain lion in a northern california town they managed to hit the mountain lion with a tranquilizer gun can which allowed that em to get close enough to capture it. it wasn't aggressive but it was afraid. it just wanted to get away. the mountain lion will be returned to suitable habitat.

phone and text messages are adding to the mystery around a murder in washington d.c. a wealthy ceo and his wife and their 10-year-old son and housekeeper were murdered last week. their mansion near the residence of the vice president was set on fire. she got a text the message from his wife three hours from the fiery mind emergency to stay home. police say they're now looking for the person you see there. they believe he may have been driving the family's porsche the day of the fire. it was found miles away burned in a church parking lot. >> aaron harang gets a start when the phillies take on the rockies tonight. the phillies won their sixth straight game last night in colorado. cole hamels pitched into the eighth you inning. herrera broke a tie in the sixth for a two run couple. the flyers hired someone without any nhl coaching experience as its latest coach. 46-year-old dave hakstol

lionville chester county route 100 at 113 you can the reduced visibility. we have fog through the area and you saw the spray coming up as that car went by. in some areas the roads a bit damp as well. in malvern chester county we have a problem with a downed tree closing warren avenue between spring road and quaker lane. stick to old lincoln highway or bridge street as your alternate, dave. >> in the 60's right now and probably still there by 9 o'clock, karen but 73 by noon and your high today is going to be 84. some showers this morning. another round of very spotty downpours possible during the afternoon. wide view shows you a little bit of weather down in texas and of course we've got those northeast showers. best chance of severe weather is down in dallas and then pushing west. maybe some tornadoes a little to the west of dallas today and there's a slight chance from about allentown all the way up north through new england of a gusty thunderstorm today. as we take a look at current delays, we really don't have anything major and no rain in any of our most commonly traveled destinations, matt and tam. >> okay, thank you david. well, a concussion that leads to a blackout can actually be a long term

who will likely become the next mayor of philadelphia. >> we have a big problem on the roads this morning. good morning, 5:30 on this tuesday. let's go right to david and karen. >> all right, guys. let's starter you out with radar and we have some of those sprinkles and showers around in south jersey and southern delaware, we're still dealing with light to moderate rain. farther to the north there's not a lot of green on the map but low lying cloud cover and fog could be putting drizzle on your windshield. looks like chester county is still basically dry but there are some sprinkles to your west heading your way. reading continues to get wet allentown very close to the initial branch of that rain. in terms of the fog millville has under a half mile visibility as does wildwood so in through these areas highlighted in darker shades of gray in some cases the northern suburbs but definitely down toward the delaware bay you do have some areas where you're going to want to slow it down if that fog gets dense. hard to see school kids, deer and other animals when it comes to that fog. 61 degrees in philadelphia, not feeling all that bad out there with dewpoints down to just the bear minimum of humidity. 62 degre
