bus collide right on the new jersey turnpike northbound and you can see tam mentioned the smoke coming out, you can see it was carrying paint and auto parts all on the scene right now fire crews here. so, this is the new jersey turnpike. it is officially still blocked between exit one and exit two so why do you see this traffic's sneaking by? 4 miles of backed up traffic. they've been stuck out there since 3:30 this morning. and they're just now allowing some of those people to get off to work here and they're all going on the shoulder very slowly past the scene with the fire still coming out here. the smoke on the tractor-trailer. so, a horrible scene. we've got police. we're hearing that we have tow trucks coming to the scene right now as well. this is fire crews here, fire crews now off to the shoulder southbound an the new jersey turnpike so southbound is getting by. northbound it's a mess. they're allowing 4 miles of backed up traffic just to squeeze by this scene. the action cam live on the scene right now in woolwich township gloucester county. i want to show you maps and get an idea of where this is. so here's the accident scene blocking all traffic

northbound between exit one and exit two for 322. what you can do is just stick to 295. basically runs parallel. you see the green traffic flow on 295 no problem sticking to that as your alternate. very foggy conditions out there that's the other issue affecting you wherever you're traveling this morning. look at this in glenside. 309 at easton road. reduced visibility in this area causing a problem right now but of course the big accident is on the new jersey turnpike. that major highway shut down, david. >> all right, karen, it's not a great morning across the region weather-wise as we do have some showers. take a look at storm tracker six live double scan. wherever you see the green that's active rain. we've got some moving into northern chester and mourn montgomery counties now, reading around berks county and allentown have seen some of this, also areas to the south around dover and cape may and in between that fog can be producing drizzle on the windshield and perhaps slightly damp road conditions, so do be careful out there both visibility-wise and road-wise. and there is the visibility. down in millville and also wildwood in particular we've

seen under a half mile visibility, about a half mile up in trenton and every now and then in between these numbers you can have pockets of dense fog but it would appear to be those areas i mentioned that are the worst. 62 degrees in philadelphia, same in wilmington and millville. not all that humid to start out but as we go through the day the humidity will build and so will the temperatures. by 8 o'clock 63. by noon, 73, probably dry after the morning commute into the early afternoon. and then by 3 o'clock your high of 84 and by two or 3 o'clock we may be seeing a redevelopment of some precipitation. it will be spotty but where it hits we could be looking at a drenching downpour producing shower or perhaps a thunderstorm. by 6 o'clock still holding onto the low 80's. much better weather tomorrow in the accuweather seven day. i'll be back in a moment with more on that, matt and at a many. >> see you then. thanks, david. it is primary day in pennsylvania. polls will open in less than an hour with democratic voters choosing their nominee for mayor of philadelphia. matt after today the democrats should finally have their candidate in the run for city hall. the republican candidate is running unopposed for mayor in philadelphia but there are other races going on in the state today. polls open in but an hour. in philadelphia t-all eyes were on the race for mayor this primary day. candidates were out making their last minute campaign stops. former pgw executive doug oliver was greeting people at a community gathering in harrison plaza in north philadelphia. former state senator milton street took to the microphone outside 52nd and market in west philadelphia. and former judge nelson diaz met with septa commuters at the spring garden stop on the broad street line. in center city, former district attorney lynne abraham shook hands and posed for pictures by the clothes pin statue. state senator anthony hardy williams was making the rounds at a block party in point breeze and former city councilman jim kenney spoke to a crowd in south philadelphia urging folks to head to the polls. also in philadelphia voters in each party will nominate five

city council at large candidates and a handful of council seats are contested. a special election will determine who will replace lieutenant governor mike stack for the fifth senate district in northeast philadelphia. other big race today's include three open seats on the state supreme court. that has never happened before. and there are also four ballot questions that all voters can weigh in on regardless of are party affiliation. the polls close at 8 o'clock tonight. we're live at city hall, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thanks, katherine. the philadelphia ballot will ask voters if they support universal prekindergarten in the city. district attorney seth williams surrounded by preschoolers at city hall yesterday announced his support for ballot question number four. it would set up a commission to create a city wide plan for universal prek: williams said studies show getting a student prepared before first grade leads to higher graduation rates. watch "action news" at 11:00 tonight for a wrapup of all the election results.

we'll also be streaming them live on 6abc.com and we will update the decided races on the "action news" twitter feed. >> new on "action news" the search is on for the gunman who shot and killed a plan in philadelphia. it happened on the 1300 block of north conestoga street at 11:30 last night. police found the victim between two parked cars. he did not have i.d. on him. and police say he was shot multiple times at point blank range. 18 shell casings littered the ground. a nearby suv smelling of pot and with a semi automatic weapon in clear view is also being held as part of the investigation. >> there is new fallout from a drug problem at a berks county school. administrators for brandywine heights plan to expel four students. they include a teenager who overdosed on heroin in class last week and three other students who face drug charges following a sweep of the school. brandywine heights will increase security and host a panel discussion on drugs next

graphic. they're looking for someone with experience in animation 3-d modeling or game design so designers get your skills on. matt and tam. >> all right thanks so much maribel. by the way you can't tell me that they can't just find someone on their own they need to make up a news story right. >> everybody in the world is going to try out for that job. >> how about a good promotion for storm tracker six live radar this morning. our storm tracker technology doing a great job of picking up those lighter showers and sprinkles across the region. you can see that we are looking at some moderate shower activity up north around reading and allentown. i'll go in tighter on this and we'll start it for you. you can see how this is pushing down toward the southeast and little bit toward the east now in those northern suburbs. looks like doylestown, lansdale will probably be picking up some of this before too much longer and back out to the wide view and then down south again we are looking at some scattered light shower activity in parts of cape may county and pulling away from dover, delaware now so in

dover you're just about drying out. same thing in llewes delaware but cape may probably sea isle city before too much longer picking up at least a little bit of light precipitation. as we head outside, we are looking at cloudy skies over the airport. little bit of fog here or there. it is dense in some spots. although at the airport we're not seeing horrific visibilities just yet. does look like maybe that fog is thinking about getting a little bit thicker there. 62 degrees in the city currently, 62 in wilmington. humidity not all that high just yet. it did have a tendency to drop late yesterday and last night as that cooler air came in from the east but we're kind of going to be turning that around and bringing the humidity back as we go through today. future tracker six shows us that between now and 9 o'clock, most of our morning showers should be drying out and the rest of the morning clouds eventually giving way to some sun early this afternoon and by two or 3 o'clock, we will be seeing the redevelopment of at least a couple of spotty downpour producing showers or thunderstorms. these could still be in the vicinity in some neighborhoods by about 5 o'clock and then we get later into the evening and

not only do we dry out we start to clear out and that humidity which will rise this afternoon will start to go down again as a front gets off the coast. 83 is today's high in the lehigh valley, mostly cloudy, a spotty thunderstorm can't be ruled out. at the shore we're going for a little cooler high but still fairly warm in atlantic city, 79. farther down the coast toward cape may probably the mid 70's a spotty shower possible here as well and in philadelphia, 84 is your warm high. it will be more humid this afternoon, a couple of storms around and winds out of the southwest at six to 12. again as we go through the day we spend the morning in the 60's. we get a lull after the morning rush hour into the early afternoon so if you have optional plans to do something outdoors that would be the time period and then 82 more humid by 2 o'clock with that high of 84 by 3 o'clock and again some spotty afternoon storms. tomorrow frontal boundary shifts off the coast cooler more comfortable air comes back along with the sun an breeze. it's going to be a nice change tomorrow t your exclusive accuweather 7-day, 84 today warm and humid a-spotty storm can't be ruled out. next couple of days breezy and

cool, 72 wednesday, 71 thursday. on thursday, a southern system will bring a lot of clouds up from the south. the farther north you are the warmer and sunnier you are. in philadelphia probably a clouds and sun mix. and then friday get away day for that holiday weekend 78 degrees sunny and nice. sunny and comfortable on saturday, 74 probably in the 60's at the shore. and then a little more humid with clouds increasing on sunday, a high of 78. the shore probably low 70's and memorial day that appears to be the unsettled day humid, 81 in philadelphia and a chance of a thunderstorm here or there in the afternoon. >> burger spatula umbrella, problem solved. up next more stories you didn't see last night including a fiery collision caught on camera in the carolinas. >> later lehigh valley firefighters say they are on the brink of a staffing crisis that's putting the community at risk. karen. >> the action cam is on the scene of a fiery crash multiple vehicles involved with this. we're getting new details on this accident in new jersey. i'm going have the latest on

>> ♪♪ >> welcome back. we have been keeping an eye on this breaking story here. traffic snarled shut down on the northbound lanes of the new jersey turnpike in woolwich township. we've had two tractor-trailers a tour bus and now an update, we're told a passenger vehicle all involved in a crash here on the turnpike. you can see that tractor-trailer still steaming. they managed to put the fire out there but karen has been talking about this all morning as being an issue on the roads. >> and the new jersey turnpike northbound has been shut down since 3:30 this morning. when this accident happened. so the actual car kind of mangled and pushed up against the median is a little bit out of our shot right here. here you see the tractor-trailer involved. two tractor-trailers, a tour bus. the tour bus wasn't carrying any passengers. this tractor-trailer, you can see it's still smoking here. it was carrying painter and auto parts. fire crews still on the scene. what we're not seeing now so here's your live update, there's not traffic getting by at the moment. the new jersey turnpike still officially shut down but get

this 4 miles of backed up traffic had been waiting since 3:30 in the morning. they just started letting some of that traffic get by about a half an hour ago so you can imagine they've been stuck out there for two hours so they're still stuck. can you kind of see them lined up out there in the top of are shot right here? you can see the cars and the trucks that are still waiting to get by. they're at times letting traffic get by on the shoulder. these are the southbound lanes and they're moving okay. the fire trucks mostly off to the side so southbound you can get by. northbound they have traffic completely blocked at the moment. at times they've been allowing it just to squeeze by on the shoulder but you could really see how this smoke is coming out and they're still dealing with that fiery crash out there in woolwich township gloucester county, new jersey. it's closing the new jersey turnpike northbound at this point between exit one and exit two for 322. so, hop over onto 295. you're seeing realtime data showing about 63 miles an hour. no problem using 295. major accident blocking a major highway in new jersey this morning. let's go outside live and show

you what it looks like. the other big issue this morning affecting a lot of people the foggily you see it here in bucks county. this is i-95 past old lincoln highway. track here moving okay but the fog is an issue. we can see those visibility reports down at philadelphia international airport, 2 miles, 1.7-mile visibility in wilmington. .3 of a mile visibility in millville and wildwood, atlantic city. half a mile in trenton. .8 in beach haven so fog is an issue this morning. use those low beams and take it slowly, tam. >> thank you karen. newly released video of a fire rescue. off duty fire captain pulled two people out of acura that collided with a chrysler. the man who shot the video rescued the driver of the chrysler. another witness grabbed fire extinguishers from his home. ♪ if you want it ♪ ♪ go out and get it ♪ >> fish and wildlife officials captured a mountain lion in a northern california town they managed to hit him way tranquilizer gun which allowed them to get close enough to capture it. it had been spotted roaming san mateo throughout the day. it wasn't aggressive but it was afraid and just wanted to get away. the mountain lion will be returned to a suitable habitat. >> just wanted a tummy rub probably. >> probably yeah. >> my dog likes the same thing. let's take a look outside right now in west chester and show you what's going on. we have fog as an issue. you certainly see it here in chester county. this is 202 at west chester pike. very foggy. not causing any other problems but got to be careful as you're heading out. we have an accident in horsham on welsh road near cedar hill road. watch for crews on the scene with. that here is a new one in upper hanover gravel pike near

ziegler road an accident involving a truck and a bicycle. the bicyclist reportedly suffered a fractured leg. horrible accident scene involving a truck in upper hanover dave. >> few showers around this morning, some drizzle where it isn't actively raining. my twitter follower christian reports 67 degrees, it's christian's berth day. happy birth day. on the bus stop and el station by 9 o'clock still gray not as damp 65. 73 by noon. this afternoon it gets more humid and warmer, a high of 84 and there is the chance of some pop-up showers and thunderstorms in at least a couple of areas that could produce drenching downpours. the only hit of severe weather is mainly out in dallas and back towards western texas, a little bit of chance of that from about lehigh valley and the poconos up north although i think this is probably more an issue up north in new york state and what you would be seeing up there would be gusty thunderstorms with wind gusts. right now no major delays at any of our local papers. lot -- airport. lot of clouds out there. no delays matt.

perdue. we believe in a better chicken. >> new at 6:00 a.m. allentown firefighters are taking their staffing concerns to city council tomorrow night. a union rep said the department is severely short-handed and that forced one team member to break protocol to save someone's life over the weekend. the firefighter went into a burning building without backup. the mayor spokesman says the problem comes when another firefighter calls out of work. according to the current contract the city is not required to hire overtime to cover sick days. >> president obama praised camden county's metro police division saying the department has reduced violent crime in the city of camden. the president spoke at the ray and joan kroc community center on harrison avenue in camden yesterday and also talked about how job creation fits in. the federal government has designated camden a promise zone which opens up the city to a range of federal funding. >> we as a society don't do
