watch for that. >> a fire -- a chain of events ended with a murder and a man arrested for suspected driving drunk. all these events in the city's parkside section. >> reporter: matt it was one thing after another in parkside, now, police are talking to witnesses and they are hoping to pull surveillance footage that will help in the investigation. officers remain on the scene the scene is mostly cleared a few ends to tie up, but traffic is getting by on girard. officers heard gunshots and rushed to 42nd and girard. they found a 29-year-old man lying in the street. he was shot multiple times. he collapsed in the road and hit by a pontiac. the police caught up with the pontiac, a 79-year-old manner was behind the wheel and was under the influence of alcohol. he was taken into custody.

it was a close call for two people who were driving by. a nissan was hit by gunfire on the drivers side the 52-year-old driver was not injured, nor were his passengers, but it was a close call. >> had it been several inches over, the bullet could have went through the driver door or the front windshield and struck the 52-year-old driver. >> reporter: and back here live on the scene where you would see a few officers still remain, as for the 29-year-old driver shot, he was pronounced at the hospital. a handgun and crack cocaine was in his possession, the search is on for the gunman in the shooting. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> 5:04 upper darby police need your help in identifying a man who robbed a chickees and

new jersey's pension system is a mess but don't blame teachers and other school employees. over 20 years, teachers have paid more than 10 billion dollars into their pensions, but new jersey politicians have paid just three underfunding teacher pensions by billions. unless the state makes its pension payments the entire fund could disappear in twelve years- threatening over 200 thousand teachers with poverty in retirement. school employees have done their part. now, politicians need to do theirs. it's only fair.
