family and housekeeper in washington, d.c. 34-year-old darren wint is due to make his first court appearance this afternoon. karen travers is live with the details. >> reporter: hi rick, the massive manhunt ended in not a dramatic standoff but a routine arrest in washington d.c., wint is scheduled to appear sometime this afternoon and is charged with first degree felony murder. >> u.s. marshals washington d.c. and maryland police and even helicopter backup all coming together to end the massive manhunt for darren wint. >> you never know how a fugitive like this will react. wint is charged with first degree felony murder in the death of a couple their 10-year-old son and their housekeeper, when wint was arrested he was traveling in a

chevy with two women and another man. the "washington post" reported there were $10,000 in cash inside of that truck. >> we were able to stop them and arrest them without a shot fired or anybody getting hurt. >> he was traced to new york city on wednesday night and officers just missed him and they picked up his trail in maryland on thursday. police say the killing was not random. >> we believe there is a connection with the suspect in this case through the business. >> wint worked at american iron works where the victim was ceo. and they believe they were taken captive on may 18th and killed the next day and then the house set ablaze. an employee dropped off an envelope to the house containing $40,000 in cash.

health officials are blaming sushi for a salmonella outbreak across nine different states, at least 53 people are sick and 31 of those cases are in california, but ill ands are reported elsewhere including vnl, arizona and illinois, the exact source has not been confirmed but the sources report eating sushi containing tuna. it could take months to determine the cause of an oil spill off the coast of california, officials say that first they need to excavate the pipeline and then determine what

went wrong tuesday's spill involved about 105,000 gallons of crude oil and crews managed to cleanup more than 9,000 gallons as of yesterday. a good samaritan saved a woman in a wheelchair. this shows a man pushing his wife across the tracks and one wheel got caught in the tracks and the woman fell to the ground when the train was approaching that is when andy driving by saw chapd and jumped out and pulled her to safety. >> i was pulling her off the tracks and he stopped right there and he would not have stopped in time and thankful that everything came out okay. >> the woman had a few scrapes fortunately but she is doing just fine. one of the world's most famous

on the sand enjoying the beginning of the memorial day weekend. 72 degrees and dew point of 38 the area is nice and dry and there were showers in the city in south jersey and delaware the winds out of the north-northwest today and a bit of a breeze and a cool breeze at that the pressure is 30.01 and on the rise, this afternoon if wilmington 71 and reading 71 and allentown and the lehigh valley 71 and 72 degrees here in philadelphia. here is the big difference today, the 24 hour temperature change yesterday we had temperatures and highs in philadelphia in the upper 50s, it's 15 degrees warmer in the city than the same time yesterday and 10 degrees warmer down the shore in see i'll city. this is the cold front i was talking about it's coming out of the great lakes and dipping on down to the south the
