41st and aspen at 1:30, police don't know who shot the man or why. police in new jersey are trying to confirm if drag racing was at fault in a car crash and two deaths last night. two cars were street racing and one car crashed into a car sitting at the stop sign. the driver and the mother inside the car dried. >> reporter: the skidmarks on the street measure the last second before the crash. >> i witnessed two cars coming by going very fast. like drag racing. one guy swerved i guess to go around the other guy and he clipped the front of the one car which is not here now, and he lost control and plowed into the car that is in the woods. >> reporter: resident don gandy was the first on the scene. he estimates the cars were going 90 miles per hour. >> he passed, i seen the other

coverage of the free 4th of july event. atlantic city has had a tough spell with a number of casinos closing but this memorial day they are focused on reinvention. this sound and light show is part of the 50 million-dollar upgrade at the tropicana. they are trying to change it from strictly a gambling resort to a resort that happens to have a little bit of gambling. >> things that bring people out that is none gambling that people can enjoy. >> the family that owns the steel peer has invested $14 million in new year round attractions. atlantic city has seen some job losses over the last year, but the sense is there's a plan to build toward a better future. >> reporter: miami style beach bar fun and volleyball and all that kind of stuff. >> reporter: they are trying to that's for sure.

part of the demonstrations against the acquittal of a police officer in the deaths of two unarmed black people. 71 arrests have been made. a police officer in new orleans was found shot and killed in his patrol car. he was working controversy time to guard a public housing construction site. the housing authority in the city has it's own police department. the slain officer had worked there since 2013. the mayor declared it an unspeakable tragedy. no arrests have been made. consumer reports put grills to the test and in the process they found a safety problem with a model sold at home depot. here's nydia han with details. >> reporter: this 130-dollar brinkman 2 burner pat -- patio gas grill failed. >> the flame goes out and the
