you can watch that that start to develop out to the west. that's going to be impacting us later on today. the dewpoint though 66 in the city. any time you hit 65 you know it feels really humid. this is a measure of moisture in the atmosphere. even more so in dover you're at 70, wilmington 67, so feeling really muggy out here this morning. currently the temperature 68 in quakertown, not bad but 71 in pottstown, 69 in center city. although we're in the low 70's at the airport. 67 in hammonton. 69 in buena and 70 in dover delaware. so pretty warm in the overnight hours and here's how we're moving up from here. by 9:00 a.m., warm and humid. we'll see lots of clouds and some sunshine and 77 degrees. by noon, sun and clouds, still dry at lunchtime and 84 degrees. feeling more humid than -- warmer than when you factor in the humidity. by 3:00 p.m. we'll be watching for storms to form. they'll start out in the northwest and slowly move through the area especially during the din are time, 86 degrees for your temperature at 3:00 p.m. we'll hit a high today of 87 feeling warm and sticky. what happens tomorrow? details on that in the

seven-day forecast coming up in a few matt. >> okey-doke karen. warm temperatures but we don't have warm feelings about about the situation on the pennsylvania turnpike. tanker truck approaching bensalem the exit for route one temporarily blocking all lanes as the tow trucks prepare to tow away the tanker truck, you're not getting by on the westbound side of 276 the pennsylvania turnpike. if you're coming from new jersey across the connector bridge exit at the delaware valley interchange take 13 down to street road. you can run street road right there over to route one and then from route one northbound you can get on the westbound side of the pennsylvania turnpike. situation that we're watching right now all westbound lanes are temporarily blocked. better news, it's just construction on the northeast extension northbound between lansdale and quakertown. has the right lane blocked but that's not causing a huge delay or problem at this point and we're problem free on the schuylkill expressway, roosevelt boulevard and right here on 95, just some building

southbound volume around cottman. again from this point at allegheny into girard just normal morning stuff here. we had a very busy morning yesterday on 42 with people coming back from the beach after the memorial day holiday. this morning we expect normal conditions, normal northbound delays. at this point they haven't formed yet and in berlin still without that ramp from the white horse pike westbound to haddon avenue. that's because of a big sinkhole on the ramp. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. now, we are following some breaking news. right now philadelphia police are questioning a man for an overnight incident on the 1800 block of rose wood street. this is the same block where a woman was sexually assaulted on monday. overnight police say a man tried to open the door of a house that had two women inside. he didn't get into the home and police were able to grab this man nearby. and sources say the suspect on monday was hiding in the shower of a home on the same street rose wood. he waited for the victim to go to sleep and then sexually assaulted her. police think this is the same man who acted back in march attacking another woman at a

home in point breeze. in both cases police say he entered through an unlocked door or window. >> and developing overnight a barrage of bullets strike three people in a philadelphia neighborhood and what's more, four more gun shots pierced a home where a family was sleeping inside. the action cam was on the scene in the 1500 block of kinsdale street in the west oak lane section. police say at least 12 shots were fired late last night one bullet hit a man in the back. he is in critical condition. two other wounded people are stable. the family was awakened by the governorgunfire that hit their home but are fine. >> four stray bullets went through the first floor living room windows of the property. inside the property at the time were a 32-year-old female with her two children ages 10 and 12 both boys. fortunately very lucky for all three of them they were upstairs on the second floor asleep when these four stray bullets came through the window. >> police did not release a description of the shooter but say he was seen driving off in

a white vehicle. and this story is breaking. international soccer officials who had a hand in denying philadelphia a chance to host the world cup have been arrested in a corruption scandal related to that selection process. erin o'hearn is live in the satellite center with new information. erin. >> reporter: that's right, matt, the nation that hosts the world cup potentially receives a multibillion dollar economic boost so of course there is a lot at stake during the bidding process. fifa has been the center of a corruption investigation for years but now at least 14 officials will likely face charges, six of them were arrested overnight in zurich. now, those arrests stem from allegations of corruption in the selection process for the 2022 cup and the 2018 cup in russia. qatar beat out japan south korea, australia and the u.s. and fifa's ethics committee hired an independent investigator which an lownessd no evidence of corruption in the past and no reason to

reopen the bidding process but later that investigator distanced himself from those claims and the fbi proceeded with the investigation resulting in these charges that were just announced. now, the american television market is one of the biggest for the world cup networks pay billions of dollars for the right to broadcast it and that's why the u.s. authorities say that they have the right and the jurisdiction to file these corruption charges but again, this is a developing story. so, if we learn any more details during the morning we'll bring them to you immediately. for now we're live in the sat center erin o'hearn channel6 "action news." back to you. >> thanks erin. about a hundred thousand people have reason to be worried this morning about all that personal info that they filled out on their tax returns. maribel aber live at the nasdaq in times square. she's got more on this. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you tam. thieves hacked into an irs web site and stole financial information on more than 100,000 people. so, the agency says the data take in includes things like

social security numbers, street addresses and birth dates. the hackers targeted the get transcript function on the irs web site. that's where you can download several years of tax forms for tasks like applying for a mortgage or college financial aid. the irs's main computer system was not compromised. stocks sold off yesterday. the dow and s & p 500 suffered the biggest one day declines in three weeks. futures are pointing to looks like a higher open and peak pizza hut and taco bell getting rid of artificial ingredients. taco bell will no longer use artificial yellow coloring in nacho cheese. pizza hut is getting away by the end of july. matt and tam you still have to watch your sugar and salt intake, though. >> i always do. you know that, maribel. we'll see you later. hey, karen. >> i did not watch my sugar and fat intake. i ate a lost ice cream on the boardwalk and i liked it. let's take a look right now at storm tracker six live double scan around the region. we're dry through the area and

you know what, much of the day is dry today. we're tracking these storms but they really don't hit us until late in the day. let's go on outside. we want the see what it looks like as we're starting this day. not so bright but early lots of clouds in place. look at the current temperature. 72 degrees right now at philadelphia international airport. it's 71 in allentown. 72 in reading. 69 in millville. feeling more comfortable along the coastline with temperatures holding just in the low 60's. but feeling really muggy out there already. let's see how the day is going to play out with these temperatures because we're warming up today. by 8:00 a.m., 76 degrees, lots of clouds. we have cloudy skies now. the clouds will slowly break and we'll see some sunshine coming through. by 11:00 a.m., partly sunny skies and 82. by 2:00 p.m., 86 degrees. our high late in the afternoon will be 87. but late in the afternoon into the evening that's when we're tracking these storms to come through. you'll see them through parts of the area moving from west to east at 5:00 p.m. we'll be watching for these storms that could be some heavy hitters in some spots.

satellite6 and action radar showing we're dry right now just lots of clouds. we could see breaks in the clouds here or there. we could see some sunshine. here are the storms that have yet to really ignite. showers near pittsburgh. when they get to the heating of the day as they progress to the east we expect them to blossom a little bit and you can see that happen right here on future tracker six. this is a look at 5:30 in the evening. and it looks like the best chance for the storms at first will be out to the northwest. you see the dark colors, the dark red evening dark purple. that's future tracker's way of showing us really heavy downpours, even some hail could be coming down with some of this. there's a low chance for that. at 7:30 in the evening we can see these storms move through the city and into parts of south jersey but they kind of break apart as they try to hit south jersey and delaware. so, not everybody will get these storms but the reason we're watching for them so closely is we do have a risk for downpours, high probability for that. moderate probability for lightning and a low probability for strong winds. the storm prediction center saying about 15 percent. we're mostly just talking about some downpours with

these storms. they continue to get hammered with severe weather in texas and oklahoma. 30 day rainfall totals, 10 to 20-inches so certainly we're in the dealing with what they are down in the southwest. here's a look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. it's humid today with some thunderstorms. spotty. 87 degrees for you high. feeling pretty sticky. tomorrow some sunshine, a few storms around and 86 for your high. friday is nice, we're dry partly sunny, 85. great for the phils. saturday's a bit warmer and 88. sun's88. sunday's high 80 but on monday look at the temperature dropping. 73 with lots of clouds. we could have rain lingering into monday, 73. tuesday breezy and nice, 74. so, if you don't like that heat and humidity it comes way down at the end of the seven day period. >> like that. >> change can be good. >> that's right. >> or bad. thank you karen. 6:10 now. more stories you didn't see last night. an off duty police officer

>> welcome back. chopper six is live over some traffic. breaking news that matt has been telling us about. take a look at this. that tanker truck there got into a one vehicle accident. we know that the driver has minor injuries and was taken away. it had diesel fuel on it. you see it off on the side of the road and this is over in that street road area, lower bucks county. if you drive it a lot like i do, you know that gets to be a really busy area at commuting time. >> matt, let's try and get around this thing. >> good thing you're in the driving it right now because yeah it's definitely busy as people try to get by the accident scene. it's about a mile approaching the bensalem interchange. that's the interchange for route one. you can see the truck is mostly off the road but they have the right lane blocked as they attempt to tow it away. the truck is upright. left lane getting by here on the turnpike in the ongoing construction zone. a lot of turnpike vehicles and

police officers are out there. this has been out there for several hours now. so, you can see the long line of traffic as chopper pans back waiting to get past that accident scene. here's what i'm recommending. after you come over the connector bridge from new jersey look at that traffic. just all stacked up stretching for quite a few miles. after you come over the bridge from new jersey, bail out at delaware valley. then you can take route 13 on down the street -- to street road run street road over to route one take route one northbound for the short stretch and then you can get on the westbound side of the turnpike and you'll be west of where the accident s of course we'll keep watching that. we've also been watching 422 this morning because you may remember yesterday afternoon i was telling you about this. right here. the road buckled. first road buckle of the season eastbound lanes just east of oaks. , see they patched it and this morning the traffic on 422 eastbound is getting by. so far without too much of a delay. but some new construction starting today in pottstown. they're going to close the ramp from 724 to the eastbound

side of 422. it was scheduled to happen may eighth, got postponed much it's happening today. long term as they rebuild the ramp. you can get on at route 100 instead. watch out for that paving work again today between delran and mount laurel along creek road. i'd use hartford or beverly rancocas instead. tam. >> thank you matt. brand new here at 6:00 a.m. an off duty police officer sprang into action after he notice add man about to jump off of a parking garage. the officer called for backup and crawled along the ledge of the top deck while other officers distracted the man. the off duty cop got a held of the would be jump are just in time. >> underage and unlicensed driver at the wheel during a crash that killed three bucks county teens will not go jail. the now 16-year-old was placed on probation yesterday. the judge in wayne county ordered her to serve community service, pay restitution and to write apology letters to the families. the three students from council rock high school south were in the suv she was

later confirmed a tornado did indeed form. >> in our area we have a chance to see strong downpours and gusty winds but nothing like that. >> good, nothing like that. and dry this morning as we head to chopper 6hd still over the scene of this tanker truck accident along the pennsylvania turnpike. it's the westbound direction about a mile approaching the bensalem interchange, that's the exit for route one. you can see just the left lane is squeezing by that truck accident that happened hours ago. that means you have miles of jammed traffic coming in from new jersey headed through bucks county toward route one this morning. not to be outdone on the maps new jersey turnpike now also has a crash in salem county, northbound side between exits one and two. watch out for restrictions. not a huge delay just yet and on septa's 101 trolley because of media's dining under the stars tonight a cancellation starting just before 5 o'clock. karen. >> matt, we continue with our above average temperatures. yesterday was the warmest day so far this year with a high of 89. today's high 87, a good

>> the death toll from flooding in texas continues to rise as rain continues to fall right now. erin o'hearn has six things to know. good morning erin. >> good morning. texas is continuing to reel from this weekend's storms that ravaged parts of the lone star state. at least a dozen people lost their lives. the governor compared it to a tsunami. 11 people remain missing among them two six-year-olds and a four-year-old inside a home as it was swept away by raging waters. the city of cleveland reached a settlement with the justice department in an attempt at reforming the police department. this comes after a white police officer was acquitted of manslaughter in the shooting deaths of unarmed -- of an unarmed black couple following a police chase.
